We haven’t gotten a black Catwoman since Halle Berry, but Matt Reeves is set to bring that back with Zoe Kravitz in The Batman. Though we know very little about Kravitz’s new version of Selina Kyle, she does talk a bit about what it’s like to work with new Batman Robert Pattinson.
Talking to HFPA in Conversation, Kravitz explains, “Rob’s great, he’s wonderful in this role. I truly think that this was something he was born to do and he’s a great guy so it’s a joy to be around him… And when you’re working with people who you respect it makes everything better and easier.”
Admittedly, a lot of people weren’t too keen on Pattinson being the new Bruce Wayne, but seeing as how much he’s evolved as an actor since his Twilight days, I’m honestly excited to see what he has to bring to the character.
While I would love to see Ben Affleck return as his version of Batman, I think Pattinson being a new version of the Caped Crusader isn’t going to stand in the way of a comeback. I mean, if they’re going to bring Michael Keaton to reprise Batman for the Flash solo movie, then I’m sure Pattinson and Affleck’s Batmen can exist at the same time in the current DCEU.
As for Kravitz, I have no doubt that she’s going to do fantastic in the role. I mean ever since Halle Berry, there’s really nowhere to go but up when it comes to Catwoman.
The Batman is set for a release on Oct. 1, 2021.
