Though The Mandalorian takes place after the fall of the Empire, we’re going to be returning to the beginning of the OT with the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Besides Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor), the show will also feature a lot more familiar characters, and apparently two have been confirmed based on the actors who will play them.
As per Cinelinx Vivien Lyra Blair (Bird Box) has been cast as Young Leia Organa and Sung Kang has been cast as a Sith Inquisitor—specifically the Fifth Brother from Star Wars Rebels.
Vivien Lyra has reportedly been cast as a young Leia in the ‘OBI-WAN KENOBI’ series.

With the Inquisitors being Jedi hunters, it would make sense that they would be in a series that would be centered around a fallen Jedi like Obi-Wan. With Vader said to be on the hunt for Kenobi in the series, it would make sense that he would also send Inquisitors after him. I’m excited to see how they would translate his animated incarnation into live-action as live-action Star Wars is always more gritty than the animations.

As for Leia, the site says she’ll be part of Kenobi in a ‘big way.’ It’s even suggested that it’s Leia that will be the reason for the plot to kick in. Maybe the Inquisitors discover that she’s Force-sensitive and try to abduct her; it would be nice to see some interaction between Leia and Obi-Wan so it would give more context to her asking for his help in A New Hope. Plus it also adds to the scene in Rogue One where Bail Organa gives Leia the task of searching for Obi-Wan.
These are just rumors for now, but the actors certainly look their parts. With the show expected to come out in 2023, it would probably be a while before we get our first preview. Disney+ still has Andor to market after all.
In the meantime, fans are gearing up for the release of The Book of Boba Fett later this year.
