Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes had teamed up back in the 90s for an R-rated basketball movie called White Men Can’t Jump. Now the film is getting a remake with Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls, and though the times have changed, the game definitely hasn’t.

Here’s the official description:
A comedy about basketball hustlers who work on the premise that white men can’t play as well as black men.
Just like the original film, the reboot also has an R-rating, so we should expect some level of raunchiness to go alongside all the street basketball scenes. For an idea about just how raunchy the original movie was, you can check out the trailer here:
Besides Walls and Harlow, I think a lot of fans will notice that the late Lance Reddick is in the film. Though Reddick is known for his serious roles in films like John Wick and series The Wire, he does dabble in comedy from time to time, and it seems like White Men Can’t Jump is one of those occasions.
The movie actually looks like a lot of fun, and it should give us an interesting look at the world of street ball. Though we have multiple shows about good players ‘making it to the big leagues’, I like the idea of a basketball crime comedy playing with that ‘buddy cop’ dynamic.
White Men Can’t Jump premieres on May 19 on Hulu.
