Big Mouth is growing to be one the of longest-running animated series on Netflix, and while Human Resources did get cancelled, we’re still getting two more seasons of Big Mouth.
Season 7 is set to premiere this October, and we have a new trailer showcasing the kids graduating middle school and moving on to high school. Watch this:
Here’s the official description:
Season seven of Big Mouth follows the now teenage students of Bridgeton middle school as they make their way to high school. Change is the only constant as each character is faced with a new school, new friends, new adversaries, and new Hormone Monsters.
We don’t know exactly how the show is planning to end, but it does look like the series could be building up to a time skip for the final season, with all the kids moving to different schools and meeting different people.
If Human Resources was any hint, we know that people’s ‘monsters’ don’t really leave them alone after high school, and it’s very likely that everyone else will be stuck with their own kinds of monsters well into adulthood.
Though it is a bummer that shows like Inside Job got cancelled, I can’t really fault Big Mouth for running as long as it has. Though the humor is juvenile on the surface, the series does have a very smart premise, and could be very therapeutic for anyone tackling anxieties or basic puberty. Hopefully they go out with a bang.
Watch out for the penultimate season of Big Mouth when it premieres on Netflix on Oct. 20.
