The sport of Quidditch may have gotten less popular as the films progressed, but it’s nevertheless one of the funner things about the Wizarding World.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is set to launch this September, and they just released a gameplay walkthrough that gives a good look at the game and how you can play it. Check this out:
The trailer gives a good look at exactly how different positions in the team works, i.e., chaser, beater, keeper, and seeker. The game has also managed to fix the balancing problem that the golden snitch brings to the table. Instead of earning 150 points to whoever catches the snitch, the points have been reduced to 30, making it a huge boost at points, but doesn’t completely invalidate the points that are earned throughout the game.
As far as having a Quidditch career goes, the game will start you out in the Burrow with the Weasley’s made-up pitch; then you can move up to Hogwarts where you can compete among the houses; then it moves up to inter-school competitions with the pitches for Beuxbatons and Durmstrang; and finally it culminates in the international stage at the Quidditch World Cup (an arena fans saw in the Goblet of Fire movie).
There have been previous attempts at Quidditch games before, but none have been able to capture the difference in playstyle for each of the different roles in the team. Hopefully Champions will manage to impress the die-hard Potter fans.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is set to launch on Sept. 3 for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox.
