Having starred in projects like True Blood and Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll could be the last person you would think of as a dungeon master for Dungeons & Dragons, but she apparently runs her own campaigns and she opens up about it during Jon Bernthal’s Real Ones podcast.
What’s cool is, Woll actually explained the entire concept of the game to Bernthal, and even gave him an impromptu campaign on the spot. It’s pretty surreal to watch:
Based on the interaction, you can tell that Woll was pretty used to introducing players to the game. Instead of having to explain a full backstory for the world, she just puts Bernthal right in the middle of gameplay and gives him short example of an encounter and the kinds of actions that a player could do.
A lot of people have actually been commending Woll online including some experienced D&D players who have had their fair share of having to explain the game to someone who has no idea what to expect.
Jon Bernthal's amazement at Deborah Ann Woll explaining D&D and then teaching him how to play is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Speaking of what to expect, it’s not clear how exactly Daredevil: Born Again will be different compared to the Netflix series, but a lot of fans are hoping that it keeps a lot of what worked and fixes what could have been improved.
I always thought that Karen and Foggy needed to be more interesting as characters, so it would be great if the series addressed that. Bernthal has also been really great as the Punisher, but some have been hoping for an outright crazy Frank Castle as compared to the PTSD-driven version that Netflix leaned on.
Daredevil: Born Again is expected to come out around March 2025.
