The Mandalorian star Gina Carano had faced major backlash online when she posted some anti-mask and pro-Trump sentiments, but now it looks like another Disney star is getting the brunt of Cancel Culture.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black Panther star Letitia Wright (Shuri), has been getting backlash for posting a video questioning the ingredients of the COVID-19 vaccine. The video from On the Table has the presenter Tomi Arayomi saying, “I don’t understand vaccines medically, but I’ve always been a little bit of a skeptic of them.”
With the chaos that misinformation has brought with COVID-19 and the elections, a lot of people were quick to point out that Wright was misusing her platform and could potentially harm her followers with her posts. To which, she replied, “I think it’s valid and fair to simply ask what’s in it.” She also posted:

For someone who plays who is described as the ‘smartest character in the Marvel universe’ it’s kind of odd to watch Wright share posts that are very ‘anti-science’ and not based on facts. Then again, she is still completely within her rights to post videos like this and ‘ask questions.’ There’s just no controlling how people are going to react—especially with everyone anxious to get things back to normal.
Seeing that Gina Carano hasn’t been fired or disavowed by Disney, I think Wright doesn’t really have anything to worry about. Personally, I think it’s grossly irresponsible for her to share videos like that, but I don’t think she should be ‘cancelled.’ There should be room for mistakes and willingness to educate; rather than completely dismissing someone immediately.
