In an upcoming docuseries from Netflix, we get to watch the rise of Kanye West, told from the eyes of Clarence ‘Coodie’ Simmons.

Here’s the first trailer for jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy:

Twenty-one years ago, Clarence ‘Coodie’ Simmons met Kanye West and saw something so special that he moved from Chicago to New York City to document Ye’s journey to become the next great rapper. Neither of them had any idea where just how far that journey would take them.

The docuseries is set to run for three episodes and is described as a ‘three-week global event.’ The footage actually spans two decades of Kanye’s life, and we get to watch him from his start just making beats for people to him actually making it as one of the biggest artists in the world.

Oddly enough, after the Sundance premiere, Kanye had asked filmmakers Coodie and Chike to allow him to collaborate when it comes to the edit that would hit Netflix, but it seems that he’s dropped the request. Talking to Rolling Stone, Coodie was asked about Kanye’s wish to be in the editing room, to which he replied:

“I asked him, ‘Did he watch the film?’ And he said, ‘I have a process,’… I said, ‘That’s great that you got your process.’ And we just talked as brothers from that point.”

The premiere episode of jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy hits Netflix on Feb. 16.

No Exit Official Trailer Promises Exciting Kidnap Mystery https://www.geekfeed.com/no-exit-official-trailer-promises-exciting-kidnap-mystery/ Fri, 04 Feb 2022 06:35:59 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63808 We’ve had murder mystery films before, but 20th Century Studios’ No Exit teases what I’d like to call a ‘kidnap mystery’. Watch the first trailer here, and see what I mean.

Here’s the official description:

In “No Exit,” Havana Rose Liu (“Mayday”) makes her feature film leading role debut as Darby, a young woman en route to a family emergency who is stranded by a blizzard and forced to find shelter at a highway rest area with a group of strangers. When she stumbles across an abducted girl in a van in the parking lot, it sets her on a terrifying life-or-death struggle to discover who among them is the kidnapper.

The movie is actually based on a 2017 novel from Taylor Adams of the same name, and it looks like all the elements from the book have made it into the film. If we’re talking movie influences though, it kind of feels a lot like a non-sci-fi version of The Shining, with the ‘monster’ hiding among everyone, and nobody being able to escape thanks to a blizzard. I guess you can also compare it to Quentin Taratino’s Hateful Eight.

No Exit was supposed to come out in theaters, but seeing the situation of the pandemic, it would’ve made sense to release it on streaming. Though Spider-Man: No Way Home made money in the box office, other critically acclaimed properties like West Side Story and The Last Duel had officially bombed in the current box office climate. Hopefully No Exit still manages to please.

Catch No Exit when it hits Hulu on Feb. 25.

Space Force Season 2 Trailer Features Space Shenanigans https://www.geekfeed.com/space-shenanigans-ensue-in-space-force-season-2-trailer/ Tue, 01 Feb 2022 04:55:47 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63712 The first season of Netflix Space Force may not have passed with flying colors, but Greg Daniels and Steve Carell have been given a second chance with this new season. The series is set to return in three weeks, and we have a new trailer bringing back the amazingly fun cast.

Check out the Space Force season 2 trailer down here:

Besides Carell returning as the stoic military man Mark Naird, we have the return of several other kooky Space Force characters like scientists Dr. Mallory (John Malkovich) and Dr. Kaifang (Jimmy O. Yang), Captain Angela Ali (Tawny Newsome), and marketing rat F. Tony Scarapiducci (Ben Schwartz). Even Naird’s daughter Erin (Diana Silvers) looks to be given a larger part in this second season.

Of course, we shouldn’t forget that Season 2 is also going to have its share of guest stars. The Office fans will remember Tim Meadows, and Parks and Recreation lovers won’t forget Patton Oswalt and his epic Star Wars/Marvel filibuster pitch.

Showrunner Greg Daniels may not have cracked the formula for starting the series with a great first season, but he always manages to get back up (with spectacular results, I might add) when it comes to Season 2 of his shows. Hopefully Space Force manages to get on its feet this February, and Netflix will have filled that Office-shaped hole that was left by the series moving over to Peacock.

Here’s the official series description:

A four-star general begrudgingly teams up with an eccentric scientist to get the U.S. military’s newest agency — Space Force — ready for lift-off.

Space Force 2 comes back to Netflix on Feb. 18.

Watch First Teaser for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio https://www.geekfeed.com/watch-first-teaser-for-guillermo-del-toros-pinocchio/ Tue, 25 Jan 2022 15:21:58 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63629 It had been a while since we got an update from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio movie for Netflix, and we had gone through 2021 without even a single image. Now with the movie set to come out in the end of the year, Netflix has dropped the first teaser for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, and it features Ewan McGregor as Sebastian J. Cricket.

Watch this trailer for down here:

The synopsis reads:

Set during the rise of Fascism in Mussolini’s Italy, PINOCCHIO — a musical directed by del Toro and Mark Gustafson (FANTASTIC MR. FOX) with a score by Alexandre Desplat — is a story of love and disobedience as Pinocchio struggles to live up to his father’s expectations.

The movie has quite the cast with names like Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Tim Blake Nelson, and Christoph Waltz included. Longtime del Toro collaborator Ron Perlman is also part of the mix; and the main cast includes McGregor, David Bradley (Geppeto), and newcomer Gregory Mann (Pinocchio).

Though fans are familiar with the Disney-fied version of the classic fairytale,  fans expect del Toro’s version to have a darker tone, something more akin to the original tale. Surely Disney had no room for Pinocchio killing the talking cricket, and having his feet burned off for falling asleep next to the stove.

For del Toro’s version, the film is said to draw influence from artist Gris Grimly, whose art is more Nightmare Before Christmas than Lion King. We don’t know when we’ll get a new look, but I’m excited to see del Toro’s first fully animated movie.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio comes to Netflix this December.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Gets Gameplay Overview Trailer https://www.geekfeed.com/lego-star-wars-the-skywalker-saga-gets-gameplay-overview-trailer/ Mon, 24 Jan 2022 14:03:11 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63582 After years of waiting, we finally have a release date for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and to top it off, we also have a new video giving us a full gameplay overview.

Check it out the trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga down here:

As the trailer also revealed, the game will finally release on April 5, 2022.

If you’ve played the original LEGO Star Wars games for the PS3 generation, you’ll know that they were pretty extensive and full of Easter Eggs, and it looks like this reboot is going to be aiming for the same elements.

Besides including chapters that will focus on every film in the main Skywalker Saga, players are also encouraged to explore each world, and find meticulously placed Easter Eggs.

I guess one improvement that this game makes is the fighting style of each character.  With the original games having very plain and simple controls for a massive roster of characters, it looks like each character will have special abilities (and even a skill tree) that could help them traverse fights and maps in their own unique way.

It’s been a long delay, but hopefully the wait has been worth it. With fans having to wait a long while before Star Wars hits the big screen again, this is going to provide a much needed Star Wars fix that hasn’t been met since The Rise of Skywalker came out in 2019.

The galaxy is yours with LEGO Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga! Play through all nine saga films in a brand-new video game unlike any other. With over 300 playable characters, over 100 vehicles, and 23 planets to explore, the galaxy has never been more fun!

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 5.

Amazon Lord of the Rings Series Official Title Revealed https://www.geekfeed.com/amazon-lord-of-the-rings-series-official-title-revealed/ Thu, 20 Jan 2022 15:14:45 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63565 After the success of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit, Amazon is ready to bring fans back to the world of Middle-Earth with their upcoming LOTR series. While a lot of fans thought that Lord of the Rings was going to be the title, a new announcement trailer has revealed the official series name.

The official title of the show is The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and what’s more, we have the premiere date for the series which is September 2, 2022.

The series description reads:

Amazon Studios’ forthcoming series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

With author J.R.R. Tolkien not having written too much material for the Second Age of Middle-Earth, this frees up the series to be more creative when it comes to characters and continuity. If anything, everyone is suspecting that we get to see Sauron’s Annatar, the form he takes when he tricks the elves into making the rings, and maybe Isildur, who fans know to be the first ringbearer and the one to smite Sauron by the end of the Second Age.

Besides those characters there are also some that are left mysterious in the source material that have room to be developed. The Blue Wizards are a big mystery among fans that could appear in the show, and I wouldn’t mind seeing the city of Dwarrowdelf in its heyday before the Balrog came to claim it for itself.

Catch The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power when it premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Sept. 2.

Taika Waititi is Blackbeard in Trailer For Our Flag Means Death https://www.geekfeed.com/taika-waititi-is-blackbeard-in-trailer-for-our-flag-means-death/ Thu, 20 Jan 2022 13:14:20 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63538 Marvel fans may be waiting for Thor: Love and Thunder later this year, but you can catch director Taika Waititi onscreen in the upcoming pirate comedy Our Flag Means Death. Waititi is set to play the infamous pirate Blackbeard, we have a look at him (and longtime collaborator Rhys Darby) in the first trailer from HBO Max.

Watch this:

In this series based on a true story, aristocrat Stede Bonnet (Darby) leaves his pampered life to become a pirate, and he catches the attention of one Blackbeard (Waititi) who he eventually teams up with.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner David Jenkins had this to say about the lead character Stede Bonnet:

“This guy had one of the world’s great, colorful midlife crises… That’s a great way into a show in any genre, but to mix that with pirates, I was like, ‘Oh, this is fantastic.’

Though Darby has been a longtime comedy actor with roles in Flight of the Conchords, Hunt for the Wilderpeopl, and What We Do in the Shadows, this is actually the first time that we see him in a lead role. If anything, it kind of looks like he’s playing the Michael Scott to this merry band of office workers—only they’re pirates.

Besides Darby and Waititi, some crew members are played by Joel Fry (Cruella), Ewen Bremmer (Trainspotting), and Krisitian Naird (Game of Thrones). Other big comedy actors like Leslie Jones and Fred Armisen are also set to make an appearance.

Our Flag Means Death hits HBO Max this coming March.

Moon Knight Trailer has Oscar Isaac Juggling Personalities https://www.geekfeed.com/moon-knight-trailer-has-oscar-isaac-juggling-personalities/ Tue, 18 Jan 2022 14:57:21 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63517 The post-credits for Spider-Man: No Way Home had fans excited for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but one other MCU hero will be on everyone’s screens before Doctor Strange returns. Just in, we have our first look at Disney+’s Moon Knight starring Oscar Isaac, and we also have the show’s March premiere date.

Check out the trailer for Moon Knight down here:

Here’s the series description as well:

The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

Besides essentially being a white, supernatural version of Batman, Moon Knight’s main quirk is that he’s juggling multiple personalities. While the trailer only gives us a look at Steven Grant and Marc Spector, the comics have given Marc other personas as well including some that are based off of Spider-Man and Wolverine.

We don’t know exactly how Marvel will take their approach with Moon Knight, but he is definitely one of the kookier comic concepts to bring into the MCU. With Hawkeye being surprisingly grounded, Moon Knight will have a lot of work to do to settle us into this world of Khonshu. Hey, maybe Doctor Strange can even pop up in a mid-credits scene this time.

Catch Moon Knight when it premieres on Disney+ on March 30.

70s Porn Meets Psycho in A24’s Trailer for X https://www.geekfeed.com/70s-porn-meets-psycho-in-a24s-trailer-for-x/ Tue, 18 Jan 2022 07:24:58 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63502 Director Ti West is the same person behind horror films like V/H/S and The Sacrament, and now he’s teamed up with A24 to deliver a new horror movie in the form of X.

Watch the trailer for down here:

While no official synopsis has been dropped for X, the plot looks like it will follow a group of would-be pornographers who have suddenly found themselves fighting for their lives after they choose the wrong location to shoot their porno.

The film actually has a star-studded cast which includes Mia Goth (Emma.), Jenna Ortega (Scream), and Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect). Music fans may also recognize Scott Mescudi, who is known better for his stage name “Kid Cudi”.

Looking back at the trailer, the film actually shares a lot of elements with Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. The group is being warned about an old woman who is not doing so well, and it looks like that same old woman will be the one to take them out one by one.

With today’s horror making Norman Bates’ mom look tame in comparison, we should expect A24 to really up the creep factor when it comes to their original brand of horror. Not only should we expect some creepily put together atmospheres with uncomfortable sounds, but we should also expect some serious, disturbing gore that will be lingering in our heads days after we watch the film.

At least that’s what I’m expecting with the way A24 makes their horror titles.

X comes to theaters on March 18.

Praise Sol! New Trailer for Raised by Wolves 2 Out https://www.geekfeed.com/praise-sol-new-trailer-for-raised-by-wolves-2-out/ Fri, 14 Jan 2022 13:19:06 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63483 It’s going to be a while before we get the next season of Westworld, but HBO is ready to give audiences their next existential sci-fi fix with the Season Two of Raised by Wolves. The series is set to come back next month, and we have an all new trailer showcasing all the dark things incoming.

Watch the Raised by Wolves trailer down here:

Here’s the official Season Two Synopsis:

In season two of RAISED BY WOLVES, Android partners Mother (Amanda Collin) and Father (Abubakar Salim), along with their brood of six human children, join a newly formed atheistic colony in Kepler 22 b’s mysterious tropical zone. But navigating this strange new society is only the start of their troubles as Mother’s “natural child” threatens to drive what little remains of the human race to extinction.

Just like the first season, it looks like the clash between Theism and Atheism continues to be the main theme of the series. Though Mother and Father try their best to raise a new society of humans that won’t have a religion, Marcus (Travis Fimmel) eagerly throws a wrench at all their plans; with him embracing the Mithraic religion and trying to force it on the surviving children.

The series is everything the sci-fi genre aspires to be; not only providing cool visuals, but trying to ask serious questions about humanity and its relationship with technology. Though the first season isn’t perfect, I’d love to see the show explore its themes more deeply with the upcoming season.

Catch Raised by Wolves 2 when it hits HBO Max on Feb. 3.

The Legend of Vox Machina Trailer Promises R-Rated Fantasy Fun https://www.geekfeed.com/the-legend-of-vox-machina-trailer-promises-r-rated-fantasy-fun/ Thu, 13 Jan 2022 13:08:49 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63455 After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Critical Role’s spinoff adaptation, The Legend of Vox Machina is finally coming out on Amazon Prime Video later this month. We have our first teaser, and it promises all the blood and gore of Invincible, but in a medieval, fantasy setting.

Here’s the red band trailer:

Just in case you didn’t know, Vox Machina is based on a D&D campaign from Critical Role. If you’re not familiar with CR, the show is a weekly gathering of voice actors who get together and play Dungeons & Dragons; and the show is hosted by Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer.

For The Legend of Vox Machina, the voice actors from CR were actually brought back to reprise their characters from the campaign. Even Mercer the DM gets his own character in the series.

With Harmonquest being a show that animated a recorded D&D session, Vox kind of removes the meta element and tries to extract a pure fantasy story out of a campaign. I don’t expect there to be any jokes about rolling dice or getting critical hits, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if the series had a small wink and nod here and there. If anything, there will probably be a lot of Easter Eggs for Critical Role fans.

Here’s the official synopsis:

They’re rowdy, they’re ragtag, they’re misfits turned mercenaries for hire. Vox Machina is more interested in easy money and cheap ale than actually protecting the realm. But when the kingdom is threatened by evil, this boisterous crew realizes that they are the only ones capable of restoring justice. What began as a simple payday is now the origin story behind Exandria’s newest heroes.

The Legend of Vox Machina premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Jan. 28.

Knoxville and the Gang Return in Final Trailer for Jackass Forever https://www.geekfeed.com/knoxville-and-the-gang-return-in-final-trailer-for-jackass-forever/ Wed, 12 Jan 2022 14:32:37 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63430 It’s been more than a decade since the release of Jackass 3D, and now Johnny Knoxville and his gang are coming back for more mayhem for one final Jackass movie. With Jackass Forever set to come out in February, we have one final trailer to get us hyped (or rather, worried) for TV’s favorite band of hooligans.

With Knoxville at 50-years-old—and the rest of the cast well past 40—a lot of fans are getting concerned on whether the Jackass gang should still be hurting themselves for their enjoyment; enter the new faces of the Jackass crew Jasper, Rachel Wolfson, Eric Manaka, Poopies, and Zach Holmes—younger, Jackass fans who have been brought along to do some of the more physically demanding stunts.

One Jackass alum that won’t be making a comeback is Bam Margera who had a falling out with the crew. It got so bad that director Jeff Tremaine even had to file a restraining order against him. While it would have been great to see Bam come back with the rest of the gang, it probably wasn’t worth the trouble based on the stories that have come out surrounding his exit.

If anything, maybe they can bring back Bam’s parents, April and Phil Margera, who have been in the Jackass films since the first movie. While I don’t expect any big pranks to be pulled on them, it would be nice to see how the two have been doing since the release of the last film.

Celebrating the joy of being back together with your best friends and a perfectly executed shot to the dingdong, the original jackass crew return for another round of hilarious, wildly absurd, and often dangerous displays of comedy with a little help from some exciting new cast.

Catch Jackass Forever in theaters Feb. 4.

Horizon VR Spinoff Call of the Mountain Officially Announced https://www.geekfeed.com/horizon-vr-spinoff-call-of-the-mountain-officially-announced/ Thu, 06 Jan 2022 15:35:57 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63351 Horizon Forbidden West is set to come out this February, Guerrilla Games and Firesprite have decided to announce a spinoff set in the world of Horizon and created for the next generation of PSVR.

Have a look at Horizon Call of the Mountain:

Here’s the official description:

Horizon Call of the Mountain, created for PlayStation’s Next-Gen VR hardware, is an upcoming brand-new adventure in the world of Horizon. Embrace a new level of immersion in an unique experience, designed to push hardware technology, innovation, and gameplay.

Though the original games focus on Aloy, it looks like you’ll be able to take control of a completely different character for Call of the Mountain. Even if you aren’t Aloy though, PlayStation promises that she’ll be making an appearance in the game. This new character is a part of a future tribe that will probably bring its own culture and perspective to the table. No doubt you’ll run into the same tribe in Forbidden West as well; we haven’t met them yet, but Call of the Mountain’s protagonist is set to be revealed soon.

Aloy may be the one with the story in Horizon, but the world is vibrant and full of fantastic visuals. It would be amazing to actually step into the world and witness it with advanced VR. I don’t expect that much animal riding though.

No release date has been announced for Horizon Call of the Mountain yet, but it’s likely it will come out for PS VR2 after the release of Forbidden West. Catch Horizon Forbidden West when it comes out for the PS4|PS5 on Feb. 18.

Peacemaker Gets Exciting Red Band Trailer https://www.geekfeed.com/eat-peace-in-this-red-band-trailer-for-peacemaker/ Mon, 03 Jan 2022 13:33:07 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63290 The end of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad had teased the survival of Peacemaker (John Cena), and though he turned out to be the surprise villain in that movie, it looks like Gunn will be giving him a redemption arc when it comes to his own spinoff show.

Just in, a Red Band trailer has been dropped for Peacemaker, and it should keep us hyped until the release of the series next week. Watch the trailer down here:

While I was expecting some more violence with the trailer, it just seems that there’s a lot more swearing in the series. Then again, this is James Gunn we’re talking about, and if you’ve seen Slither or Super, you’ll know he has a penchant for body horror and gore; you can even say that he was holding back when it came to Suicide Squad.

Personally, I thought Peacemaker was a good one off character, and it made sense for him to be the surprise antagonist of Squad, taking his beliefs—which seemed like a joke at first—and turning him into a real hurdle, even costing the team Rick Flagg.  Even if that was the case, it seems that Gunn wants to do more with Christopher Smith, and he’s probably going to be milking some good jokes out of this ‘f*cked up version of Captain America’.

For now, Peacemaker is expected to set the bar for upcoming DCEU shows, and the success of the series will be a gauge for how fans will react with the release of Batgirl.

Catch Peacemaker when it premieres on HBO Max on Jan. 13.

Atlanta Returns for S03 With New Trailer https://www.geekfeed.com/donald-glover-is-back-with-teaser-for-atlanta-season-3/ Fri, 31 Dec 2021 03:42:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63221 It’s been more than three years since the release of the second season, but Atlanta is coming back in 2022 and we have a new trailer featurning Earn, Al, and Darius up to their surrealist shenanigans.

Watch the trailer for Atlanta season 3 down here:

With the artsy nature of the show, it’s probably useless trying to understand what the overall synopsis of the third season will be. If anything, it looks like the gang will be finding themselves in Europe, and we’re going to get some more absurd scenes commenting on racism and black culture.

Since the last time we saw Earn and the rest was 2018, there have been a lot of significant things that have happened that I bet the show is going to be commenting on. With the murder of George Floyd taking place in 2020, it looks like the series will have something to say about the Black Lives Matter movement. Maybe we can even get some commentary on the January 6 insurrection, if Glover and his team manage to find a way to work it into the show.

Though Glover had been best known for his work on straight-up comedies like Community, Atlanta has proven to be one of the more unique voices when it comes to television. While some scenes can be funny, there’s a unique voice of awkward (and sometimes sad) that can leave audiences more contemplative of what the series is trying to say.

Either way, I’m excited for the series’ return. Atlanta returns to FX on March 24, 2022.

The Riddler is Diabolical in New Trailer for The Batman https://www.geekfeed.com/the-riddler-is-diabolical-in-new-trailer-for-the-batman/ Thu, 30 Dec 2021 02:54:46 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63178 The Batman could have been out buy June, but WB has opted to delay the movie until March of 2022. We have a new trailer hyping up the film, and it gives us a lot more characterization on Catwoman as well as the main villain, Riddler.

Watch the new trailer for The Batman down here:

Though we were expecting Catwoman to be an adversary for the majority of the movie, it looks like she’ll be teaming up with the Dark Knight early. It seems that the film will also be leaning in on the dramatic tension between the two characters as early as this first movie.

As for the Riddler, we don’t know what he has against the entire city, but the trailer does reveal that he knows the identity of the Batman. This is also something I never thought I’d miss onscreen; but it’s fun to see the Riddler’s henchmen in Riddler garb, probably to make it easier for the Riddler to hide himself among them. We don’t know what else he has planned up his sleeve, but it looks like the fallout is going to be catastrophic unless the Batman stops him.

And while Alfred has mostly been comic relief in the latest Batman movies, it looks like the film is going to have him hiding a big secret from Bruce. I’m not expecting things to get too shaken up, but I am open to Reeves doing a completely new take on the Caped Crusader with this grungy, dark movie.

Catch The Batman when it hits theaters March 04, 2022.

First Trailer for The Northman Promises Viking Revenge https://www.geekfeed.com/first-trailer-for-the-northman-promises-viking-revenge/ Wed, 29 Dec 2021 05:45:54 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63077 Robert Eggers has proven he has a very unique voice in modern filmmaking with films like The Witch and Lighthouse, and now he’s teaming up with Focus Features for this Viking epic The Northman. Check out the first trailer starring Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, and some Eggers alumni.

Here’s the official description:

From visionary director Robert Eggers comes THE NORTHMAN, an action-filled epic that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father’s murder. With an all-star cast that includes Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe.

If you’ve watched Eggers’ previous movies, you’ll know that he’s brought back leads from The Witch (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Lighthouse (Willem Dafoe). The cast list also includes other Witch supporting cast Ralph Ineson and Kate Dickie, plus Game of Thrones’ Mountain actor Thor Bjornson.

The film also has some interesting casting with Björk who is acting out a part for the first time in a long while.

With A24 having a very specific brand of film, Eggers’ work is a shining example of what kind of content the studio pumps out. With Focus Features distributing this movie though, I have a feeling The Northman is going to be something more commercially friendly. Don’t get me wrong, the trailer still feels a lot like an Eggers film, but there’s just something in the preview that makes me feel like this one is not going to alienate the general audience.

It’s just a feeling.

Just in, we have a full trailer for the event, and it features all the familiar faces from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.

Check out the full Harry Potter 20th anniversary down here:

While I was initially expecting returning actors to just be on a screen in the comfort of their homes, the reunion was able to bring everyone back together in person. Of course, there were some actors that weren’t able to make their return, but who knew that Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, or Helena Bonham Carter would be open to coming back for a franchise that’s essentially the Millenials’ Hunger Games.

Besides the returning actors, the reunion is also bringing back directors Chris Colombus, Alfonso Cuaron, Mike Newell, and David Yates. Hopefully there are some other surprises in store; personally, I think some kind of teaser for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore could be dropped at the same time, maybe even an appearance from an FB actor like Jude Law or Eddie Redmayne.

Though Fantastic Beasts wasn’t able to gather the same amount of excitement as the Potter movies, the original films are still solid; and it will be a few decades before WB decides to pull a Force Awakens and have actors like Radcliffe and Watson hand over the baton to a new generation of wizards (and hopefully, Cursed Child will be de-canonized fan fiction).

Catch Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts when it airs on HBO Max this New Year’s Day.

The Righteous Gemstones 2 Brings Back the Family https://www.geekfeed.com/the-righteous-gemstones-2-brings-back-the-family/ Tue, 28 Dec 2021 05:31:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63045 After Last Week Tonight had pointed out what was wrong with the world of televangelists, HBO had decided to go all in on the premise of crooked religious figures with The Righteous Gemstones. The crazy family is back for a second season, and we have our first full trailer.

Check this out the new Gemstones trailer down here:

While the first season was extensive in pointing out how religious figures like the Gemstones abuse their followers, it looks like the second season has found other unexplored avenues when it comes to religious abuse. They even managed to get Eric Andre to play another “spiritual leader”.

Though the main characters of the show are crooked spiritual leaders, the first season doesn’t really condemn them as “evil” people; rather, the Gemstones are given an antagonist in the form of some blackmailers extorting them for money. Now it looks like they’re going up against a journalist (Jason Schwartzman) who wants to expose their way of life; and of course, the Gemstones won’t have it.

The first season of Gemstones isn’t perfect, but the show does have some fun characters, and you love to watch the Gemstone “kids” bicker amongst themselves as they try to bring the Word of God of their followers. While I am waiting for the series to have something more meaningful to say about religious abuse, it’s still a fun ride watching Danny McBride, Adam DeVine, and Edi Patterson bring the laughs.

The Righteous Gemstonesi return for a second season this Jan. 9 on HBO Max.

Gal Gadot Shines in New Death on the Nile trailer https://www.geekfeed.com/gal-gadot-shines-in-new-death-on-the-nile-trailer/ Tue, 28 Dec 2021 05:15:35 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63092 After the success of Red Notice, Gal Gadot is ready to grace the screens again with the sequel to Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile. 20th Century Studios has dropped a new trailer, and we’re reminded of the star-studded cast.

Check out the Death on the Nile trailer:

Here’s the official description:

Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short. Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this dramatic tale of love gone wrong features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.

Though the twist of the original Orient Express was the scene that essentially invented the ‘shock twist’, the remake had opted to change the story to catch audiences off their guard. We should expect Nile to change things up as well, but since we’re already expecting that, what are the odds that director Kenneth Branagh would just stick to the original story?

The story of the cast is also worth mentioning, since a lot of the stars are currently ‘cancelled’ by the internet, Armie Hammer with accusations of grooming (and cannibalism) and Letitia Wright for her anti-vaxx views. Since trailer still featured them, I guess 20th Century Studios isn’t too keen on cancelling the stars; but then again they also had to promote Ansel Elgort for West Side Story, and he’s been called out for hitting on underage girls.

Catch Death on the Nile when it comes to theaters on Feb. 11.
