Gareth Edwards may have taken a break after working on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but he’s ready to come back with another massive sci-fi epic with the upcoming film, The Creator.
The movie is set to release in theaters later this month, and we have a final trailer that really gives us a great look at this world of humans and robots. Check this out:
The official synopsis for the film reads:
As a future war between the human race and artificial intelligence rages on, ex-special forces agent Joshua is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI. The Creator has developed a mysterious weapon that has the power to end the war and all of mankind.
As Joshua and his team of elite operatives venture into enemy-occupied territory, they soon discover the world-ending weapon is actually an AI in the form of a young child.
As you can see from the preview, the visuals of the film are no less than stunning; which can be expected of a director like Edwards. Besides his work on Rogue One, he was also at the helm for the remake of the Godzilla film that would launch Legendary’s ‘Monsterverse’.
Admittedly, there isn’t that huge of a market when it comes to artsy science fiction, but maybe with enough buzz, The Creator could turn out to be one of the most memorable films of the year. We’ll just have to wait and see till it releases to find out.
The Creator is set to hit cinemas on Sept. 29.
