Though former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson isn’t as in the spotlight as she once was, she had found herself part of the pop-culture discussion once again with the release of Hulu’s Pam & Tommy which covered the story of the first sex tape to have ever spread.
Now teaming up with Netflix, Anderson is set to take control of the narrative, and the first trailer for Pamela, a love story has been dropped. Watch this:
Anderson says in the trailer, “I blocked that stolen tape out of my life in order to survive and now that it’s all coming up again, I feel sick… I want to take control the narrative for the first time.”
Though the documentary does feature a lot of footage from the high point in Andersons’s carer, we also have some newer clips of Anderson at home, living her life outside of the spotlight.
With the recent revelation that celebrities like Britney Spears have been suffering in their personal lives while the media turns them the public against them, it’s definitely going to be interesting to see what Anderson has to say about her experience.
Though she was embraced as a sex symbol during the height of her stardom, the documentary promises to go beyond that, and have Anderson explain to audiences what it’s been like for her to be subject to the media circus and public scrutiny as a woman.
Pamela, a love story comes to Netflix on Jan. 31.
