Netflix’s live-action Cowboy Bebop may not have taken off, but the anime still manages to keep itself revelant to this day. Overwatch 2 had been teasing a collab with the franchise for months, and now we have a look at the Cowboy Bebop-inspired skins for Cassidy, Ashe, Mauga, Sombra, and Wrecking Bell.
Check this out:
Not only are the heroes getting skins that are inspired by the characters from the anime, but you can see that their accessories are also inspired by other elements from the show. Cassidy/Spike is wielding a gun that’s inspired by Spike’s jet the Swordfish, and BOB has a new skin that also looks like Faye Valentine’s own personal ship. Sombra’s look is also filled with all kinds of easter eggs based on Ed as a character.
With the Cowboy Bebop franchise currently not having anything new at the moment, this collaboration should give us an idea on just how popular the crew of the Bebop is until now. We don’t know if we can see a revival down the line (or maybe another attempt at a live-action adaptation), but maybe this small collab can give us a clue on where to take the characters in the future.
Fingers crossed they make some kind of Marvel /Star Wars crossover in the future, because it’s unfair that Fortnite gets to hog all that licensed DLC content.
The Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop collab launches on March 12. Overwatch 2 is now playable for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4|5.
