We know that Rian Johnson is still working on his third Knives Out movie for Netflix, but the streaming service has just revealed their own murder mystery series with a star-studded cast.

The official synopsis reads:
Amelia Sacks is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. Her disapproving future mother-in-law, famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury, has spared no expense in planning what promises to be the premiere wedding of the season – until a body turns up on the beach. As secrets come to light, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels plucked from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. Suddenly, everyone is a suspect.
Besides Schreiber and Kidman, the series also stars Eve Hewson, Dakota Fanning, and Meghann Fahy. The series is also directed by Susanne Bier who had worked on Bird Box, The Night Manager, and The Undoing.
I think it’s just funny that one of the main characters is a mystery novel writer because that’s exactly who Christopher Plummer was playing in Knives Out as well. Besides the murder-mystery aspect though, I think it’s also fun that the series has a bunch of kooky characters—which will probably make it all the more fun to find out exactly what’s happening.
So far the cast does look impressive, and I’m just waiting for all of them to unravel come September.
The limited series The Perfect Couple premieres on Netflix on Sept. 5.
