The Boys Jack Quaid has been known to be a generally nice guy offscreen and onscreen, but he does have some more unhinged roles from time to time, the last being the one in Scream back in 2022. Now it looks like Quaid is back on that creepy boyfriend train in this first teaser for Companion.

Just by reading the description, it’s possible that the movie could have something to do with robots. Thatcher’s character does seem to be running away from whoever Quaid is playing, but the image of her burning her arm could mean that she’s a robot, and Quaid could be some kind of weirdo who likes to torture the ‘Companion’ for his own amusement.
It’s kind of a more focused Westworld if you think about it that way.
With the creators of Barbarian behind this movie, it’s very likely that the film could have several rugs to pull underneath the audience. Barbarian was still a horror movie, but fans had no idea just what to expect when the story just made twists the way it did.
Maybe we’ll see more of Companion revealed down the line.
