After the massive success of Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise is set to return to one of his main action franchises, Mission: Impossible. The upcoming movie promises even more crazy stunts from Cruise, and we have a new featurette covering Cruise’s big stunt for the film—which will have him driving a motorcycle off a cliff and pulling a parachute after he does the jump.
Check this out:
I’ll admit, we’ve probably seen some crazier things on previous Mission: Impossible films, but the fact that we can see that it’s Cruise doing the jump and pulling the chute himself is what makes the stunt so heart-stopping. I actually found myself holding my breath just waiting to see the parachute open after the fall.
With Cruise on the last legs of the Mission: Impossible franchise, it would make sense that they would want to up the ante when it comes to the stunts. At 60-years-old, we don’t expect Cruise to be doing this forever, but if he’s going out, it looks like he’s going to be doing it with the biggest bang possible.
We don’t know the future of the M:I franchise after Dead Reckoning, but I think Cruise may want to pass the mantle to someone else who has the same kind of moxie as him when it comes to action movies. Jeremy Renner may be too old now, but I’m curious who could take the reins from Ethan Hunt moving forward.
Mission: Impossible –Dead Reckoning Part One is set to hit theaters on July 14, 2023.
