The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been rebooted for the big screen with Mutant Mayhem last year, and now this iteration of the turtles is ready to spread through all kinds of mediums.
Just in, we have an announcement trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed and it brings to life the messy New York that looks like it jumped right out of a 12-year-old’s notebook. Check this out:
Embark on an pizza-fueled journey with Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo to battle an all-new wave of havoc-wreaking mutants as you join forces with familiar faces in thrilling missions across the streets of NYC!
Though we don’t really expect the story to be canon, it does look like the game is going to be picking up where Mutant Mayhem ended. With that film ending up with the turtles adopting Superfly’s family of mutants, it does seem that the game has found a way to bring those characters into the fight by introducing a ‘malaise’ that turns friends into enemies.
We don’t have specifics on gameplay, but it does look like a straight-up action-platformer. There are also some scenes that looks like the turtles are also going to do some skateboarding, and I would very much be in line for a game that’s a cross between Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Arkham City.
Until they reveal more though, all we can do is speculate.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed is set to come out for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4|5 on Oct. 18.
