While everyone is almost sure that Taskmaster is going to be the only Thunderbolt member to die in the middle of the movie, a lot of people have been curious about Bob a.k.a. the Sentry (played by Lewis Pullman) whose full superhero form hasn’t been revealed.
Thanks to the Superbowl though, fans do get a look of the Sentry (or rather ‘The Void’) in action, and he looks like an Avengers-level threat that Mysterio would be pissed he didn’t think up. Check this out:
From the get-go, we can see just how much damage the Void can do on his own, being able to completely obliterate people in split seconds. We don’t know exactly what his deal is going to be in the movie, but in the comics, the Void is an entity that is supposed to be the negative version of the Sentry—the superhero persona that Bob turns into. The twist is, Bob is also the Void; so he has kind of a Moon Knight split-personality situation going on, which should be a big problem for the Thunderbolts when it comes to taking him down.
With the MCU often opting to simplify the story with the films, it’s possible that Sentry/Void could have a different backstory this time around, but there are some fans who would love for them to incorporate how Bob had been part of the MCU all along, but he was just forced to erase himself from everyone’s memory (like what Spider-Man did in No Way Home).
The week may belong to Captain America, but the Thunderbolts* are set to hit theaters May 2.
