The earlier LEGO Star Wars games were such a big hit with fans that they provided the very core of most LEGO games today, and everyone at E3 went crazy when it was announced that there would be a LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. As it turns out, the game will be restructuring the play style completely and can be considered a reboot of the entire game franchise.
As per PC Magazine, the game will allow you to traverse the three different trilogies, but this time, you can openly explore the many different worlds of a galaxy far far away. The game comes with a new combat system, a space battle element, and probably some more complicated puzzle solving.
This is a description of the new melee system, particularly with lightsaber characters:
Melee combat, like fighting with lightsabers, has a new combo system to give the action more flare than just mashing a button until enemies fall apart. Ranged combat is more accurate and precise, using the over-the-shoulder perspective to aim carefully at enemies, and do more damage with head shots. The Force is a more universal tool, letting Force-sensitive players pick up and move around all sorts of objects in the environment and solve physics puzzles, rather than simply holding a button and making bricks fly around automatically.
We don’t have an exact release date for the game yet, but if it’s going to contain content from The Rise of Skywalker then I guess it could come out alongside or after the movie. Or maybe they could just release it early, block off the TROS content, and just make it available as free DLC when the film comes out.
That’s just my idea anyway.
No release date has been set for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, but Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes out Dec. 20.
