The Life of Chuck: Tom Hiddleston Stars in a Surprisingly Non-Horror Movie from Mike Flanagan

Director Mike Flanagan is best known for his work on horror, but it looks like he’s going to be adapting something more on the dramatic side of Stephen King with The Life of Chuck.

The movie is set to come out in June, and a new trailer has been dropped starring Tom Hiddleston. Check this out:

Here’s the official description for The Life of Chuck:

A life-affirming, genre-bending story based on Stephen King’s novella about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.

Besides Hiddleston, the movie has also managed to gather an amazing cast which includes the likes of Karen Gillan, Harvey Guillen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthew Lillard, Nick Offerman, David Dastmalchian, and Mark Hamill. It’s also interesting to see a grown-up Jacob Tremblay play the part of a younger Chuck.

Though Stephen King is best known for his work in horror, a lot of people forget that he also does great drama. The trailer makes it a point to remind everyone that King also wrote cult movies The Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, and The Green Mile.

I have to admit, with Flanagan also being known best for his horror series like Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Hill House, it’s going to be interesting to see him tackle a straight up drama. After years of just trying to scare audiences and make their skin crawl, I’m willing to see what kind of rid Flanagan has in store on the dramatic side of things.

Catch The Life of Chuck when it hits theaters on June 6.
