The LEGO Movie 2 is set to come out this week, and the film admittedly has some fun ways to promote itself. After the Hot Ones video with Sean Evans eating spicy wings with Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi, they’ve now released a fully animated segment of the characters playing a game on The Ellen Show.

What’s also cool is, they have a brick version of Ellen DeGeneres hosting the show as well. You think the blue aesthetic is kind of a nod to her Dory character from Finding Nemo?
While original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller aren’t back at the helm for this film, they are attached as the screenwriters for The LEGO Movie 2. This time, directing duties have been passed on to Mike Mitchell, who has directed projects like Disney’s Sky High, Shrek Forever After, and the Trolls movie.
Getting fired from directing Solo: A Star Wars Story must have been tough for Lord and Miller, but the two have gotten accolades with their projects that have come afterward. For one, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which the two produced, has come out to be one of the most beloved animated films of 2018. Let’s hope this LEGO Movie sequel manages to wow audiences as well.
It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: Lego Duplo invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part comes out Feb. 8.
