The Last of Us said to have Inspired Star Wars Eclipse

Quantic Dream has been best known for their AAA narrative-driven titles like Detroit: Become Human and fans thought that the same format would be applied to their upcoming game Star Wars Eclipse. As it turns out, it’s possible it could be a different case.

As per insider @accngt, it’s said that Eclipse is actually going to be sticking to a more traditional narrative/gameplay mix and is said to be a lot closer to The Last of Us than Detroit. Here’s the post:

With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order being an action-platformer game, fans thought that the genre would be sticking to the adventures of Cal Kestis, but the revelation that Eclipse might be in the same vein kind of sets the tone for Star Wars games moving forward.

Until we can get an official look at the gameplay, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but nothing has been confirmed so far. With Star Wars being the franchise it is, I would suspect that there would be some more immediate action elements as compared to something that requires minimal gameplay to execute the narrative.

Set during the High Republic era, Star Wars Eclipse™ is an intricately branching action-adventure game that can be experienced in many ways, and puts the destinies of multiple playable characters in your hands, created in collaboration between Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm Games.

No official release date has been set for Quantic Dream’s Star Wars Eclipse.
