Avatar: The Last Airbender Animated Movie Sets 2025 Release Date

It’s been fourteen years since we saw the ending of Avatar: The Last Airbender, but Aang and his friends are ready for a comeback, and on the big screen this time. We’ve known for a while that Avatar Studios is ready to bring back the OG Team Avatar, and now we have a release date for the movie.

According to Variety, the untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender film is aiming for a release on October 10, 2025. No other details have been released about the story, but we can bet that the film will give us appearances from Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko.

So far, the aftermath of ATLA has been pretty much laid out by The Legend of Korra, with us finding out that Aang helps build Republic City as a hub for members of all nations. We don’t know what part of the timeline this movie is going to be, but some guess that it could focus on an adult Team Avatar that could be reuniting for one more adventure.

With Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko greatly expanding on the ATLA lore with Korra, I seriously have no idea where they could go when it comes to Aang’s story. While I do think it’s great to see Aang and the others again, I think it would ultimately be better if we just had a story that pushed forward. But who knows? Maybe the duo has something up their sleeves. Fingers crossed Korra gets some more love in the future as well.

The Avatar: The Last Airbender film comes out Oct. 10, 2025.
