The Russo Brothers are currently gearing up for the start of production for Avengers: Doomsday, but the two have a project incoming for Netflix called The Electric State starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt.
The movie is set to come out in March, and Netflix has just dropped a first teaser. Check this out:
Here’s the official description:
Set in the aftermath of a robot uprising in an alternate version of the ’90s, The Electric State follows an orphaned teenager who ventures across the American West with a cartoon-inspired robot, a smuggler, and his sidekick in search of her younger brother.
Besides Brown and Pratt, the film has managed to amass a number of stars with the likes of Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Jason Alexander, Jenny Slate, and Giancarlo Esposito.
Though the Russos were at the helm for one of the most successful movies of all time, a lot of people have been saying that they haven’t managed to find a hit after Avengers: Endgame. With their non-MCU projects not really making any waves, some think that Doomsday was kind of a Hail Mary for the directing duo—as well as Robert Downey Jr.
If anything, Electric State does have the premise of what could be a successful action-adventure movie, but time will tell if it’s going to be a hit. Sure, the imagery of robots that look like old-timey cartoons is unique, but the movie still looks as drab and grey as any other MCU flick.
Is it too late to color-correct the film?
Watch out for The Electric State when it comes to Netflix on March 14, 2025.
