New Teaser for The Boys Spinoff Gen V is an R-Rated Sky High

Zoomers remember Disney’s ‘high school for superheroes’ movie Sky High, and though its college-based sequel never happened, Amazon is going to be doing the ‘superhero college’ concept with their The Boys spinoff Gen V.

The series is set to premiere in September, and we have a new teaser trailer showcasing all the signature super-raunch and violence we can expect from a show like The Boys. Watch this:

The official description reads:

From the world of The Boys comes Gen V. Young, aspiring heroes have their physical and moral boundaries put to the test while competing for Godolkin University’s highly coveted top ranking. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.

Though the series is expected to focus on a whole new cast of characters who attend Godolkin, we should also expect appearances from supporting cast members of The Boys like A-Train or Vought’s new CEO Ashley Barrett. We don’t expect series heavies like Homelander or Billy Butcher to appear in the show, but it’s very likely they could get name-dropped; after all, Homelander is one of the biggest figures in this fictional universe.

With The Boys having its own very distinct take on the superhero genre, it’s going to be interesting to see just how Gen V will change things up from a young adult perspective. While some think the superhero genre is slowing down already, it’s properties like The Boys with its sharp commentary and meta humor that somehow keep interest in the comic book properties alive.

Gen V premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Sept. 29.
