Seth Rogen may not have been able to turn much heads when it came to AMC’s The Preacher, but he did find a new hit when it comes to Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys. The second season is set to come out next year, and it seems like we got our first teaser for it early.

[UPDATE: The video was taken down on Youtube, but other sources have put it up on Twitter]
No official synopsis has been dropped for the second season, but I guess we should expect some more violence plus this darker side of the heroes. If anything, it looks like A-Train will actually survive his heart attack, and the revelation that Butcher’s wife is alive won’t really stop him from taking down the Seven.
This is also just speculation on my part, but I think we’re going to get some more backstory on Billy Butcher, and it could be revealed on why he’s so adept at taking down heroes. We also don’t have any clues in the trailer, but I think we’re also going to find out more about ‘The Female’ played by Karen Fukuhara.
Besides HBO’s new Watchmen show, I think The Boys is a very interesting insight when it comes to superheroes and it’s great how they were able to pull all the characters off. No doubt probably the best villain we’ve seen in the show is Homelander, and it’s pretty interesting to watch him be a psycho while at the same time really understand where he’s coming from.
A group of vigilantes set out to take down corrupt superheroes who abuse their superpowers. The Boys is set in a universe where superpowered people are recognized as heroes by the general public and owned by powerful corporation Vought International, which ensures that they are aggressively marketed and monetized.
Catch The Boys 2 when it comes out on Amazon Prime Video sometime in the summer of 2020.
