Boba Fett saw a triumphant Star Wars return in the last season of The Mandalorian, but fans had no idea that he would be getting the spotlight the next year with The Book of Boba Fett. Though we’ve yet to get a trailer, Disney+ has dropped the release date as well as a new poster starring the OG Mandalorian.
Check it out the Boba Fett poster down here:
His story is only beginning. #TheBookOfBobaFett, an all-new Original Series, starts streaming December 29 on @DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/D3W26zSN6c

Here’s the official synopsis (via CBM):
“The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.”
We don’t exactly know what to expect with the series and where it could go, but since this is Star Wars, we should expect some more planet-hopping and running into new alien species.
With the series also implying that this could encompass the entirety of Boba’s story, we should also expect some flashbacks with young Boba as he tries to make his way on his own after the events of The Clone Wars. I wouldn’t even mind if we found ourselves all the way back in Kamino with Boba bonding with his father Jango Fett.
Admittedly Boba is in a very strange position in the fandom where he is barely in the films but is one of the franchise’s most celebrated characters. This show should give us some very interesting backstory and solidify Boba as the pop-culture icon that he is.
Catch The Book of Boba Fett when it premieres on Disney+ on Dec. 29.
