Coyote and his lawyer (Will Forte) going up against the Acme Corporation, the company he gets all his Road Runner traps from.

It was reported that Zaslav was going to bury the film for another tax-write off; and multiple people online have started to express their dissatisfaction that a finished film wasn’t going to be released again. The crew of the movie even released this reel full of pratical effects used in the movie (now removed online).

Now according to The Hollywood Reporter, WB Pictures has buckled under the online backlash and has allowed director Dave Green to shop the movie to other buyers who are willing to release the film. For now, it looks like Amazon is an interested party, with screenings said to be held for potential buyers this month. Fans do think it’s odd that a Looney Tunes property is being released without the Warner Bros. banner, because the two have always gone hand-in-hand.

It’s also worth mentioning that the movie was written by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Peacemaker) and is also starring John Cena.

When news broke out of Coyote vs. Acme’s shelving, a lot of people from the industry had expressed their frustration at Zaslav and his tax-saving methods. BenDavid Grabinski, who worked with Green on Happily, said:

Hopefully Coyote vs. Acme finds a publisher soon. It’s ironic the kind of attention it received when it was supposedly being shelved.

Watch the Fantastic Full Trailer for Netflix’s Sweet Tooth https://www.geekfeed.com/watch-the-fantastic-full-trailer-for-netflixs-sweet-tooth/ Fri, 21 May 2021 10:55:41 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59625 Though DC properties seem to be exclusively coming to HBO Max, one piece of IP is making its premiere on Netflix with the live-action series Sweet Tooth. The series is set to come out this June, and we have a full trailer giving us a better look at the world and the plot.

Watch the trailer for Sweet Tooth down here:

In Sweet Tooth, the world is in a post-apocalyptic state where humans are dying out because of a virus, but at the same time, there has been an emergence of half-human/half-animal people who are immune. The lead character is a half-deer boy named Gus (Christian Convery) who embarks on an adventure with ‘a wandering loner’ (Nonso Anozie).

While the original comic by Jeff Lemire looks a bit darker and gaunt, Sweet Tooth the series is going for a more warm and children-friendly look; which probably makes sense since Robert Downey Jr. is attached as a producer, and he’s been focusing on some family-oriented properties (like Doctor Dolittle) after his run as Iron Man.

Though post-apocalyptic worlds are dime-a-dozen, Sweet Tooth has a very interesting take in which we see a world that’s healing after the near-extinction of humans; and unlike zombies from The Last of Us, it’s there ‘hybrid’ people we see walking around as if they jumped right out of an anime. I’m just saying, Netflix would have missed one hell of an opportunity if it didn’t have at least one cat girl in this show.

All episodes of Sweet Tooth come out on Netflix on June 4.

Half-Human, Half-Animals Walk the Earth in First Trailer for Netflix’s Sweet Tooth https://www.geekfeed.com/half-human-half-animals-walk-the-earth-in-first-trailer-for-netflixs-sweet-tooth/ Sat, 01 May 2021 16:28:57 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59307 Sweet Tooth was a comic from author Jeff Lemire that was published by Vertigo back in 2009 and it ended its run in 2013. Now Netflix is set to adapt the comic into a series, and we just got the first trailer starring Will Forte, Christian Convery, and Nonso Anozie.

Watch the trailer for Sweet Tooth down here:

Based on the beloved DC Comic, and Executive Produced by Susan Downey & Robert Downey Jr., Sweet Tooth is a post-apocalyptic fairytale about a hybrid deer-boy and a wandering loner who embark on an extraordinary adventure.

Looking at the original comic, it looks like the movie is going for a more ‘warm’ aesthetic as the lead character Gus (Convery) looks a little less gaunt than his comic counterpart. With Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey attached as producers, I think we should expect this movie to be more kid-friendly—not unlike RDJ’s attempt at a franchise with Doctor Dolittle.

Though post-apocalyptic stories tend to lean closer to a more rugged/horrific aesthetic, Sweet Tooth feels very different in a sense that the movie kind of embraces nature and animals. While the state of the world is ‘bleak’ on paper, the colors and environment look peaceful—like something out of a Tolkien  book.

It’s also worth noting that there’s a virus in the middle of the plot, so it’s going to be interesting to see how that relates to the current social climate, seeing as that a lot of us are still currently dealing with a real-world pandemic.

Catch Sweet Tooth when all episodes come out on Netflix on June 4.
