Talking to The Playlist, director Alonso Ruizpalacios had accidentally let it slip that Ben Mendelsohn—who played Director Krennic in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story—was going to be appearing on the show. He confirms this by saying he was working with heavyweight actors including “Stellan Skarsgard, Forest Whitaker, and Ben Mendelsohn.”

With Andor showcasing the tightening grip of the Empire by the time of Rogue One, it would make sense for a character like Krennic to appear. After all, the finale of Andor had teased the creation of the Death Star, so it would make sense that the man who was overseeing the entire project had some kind of appearance.

Around the Andor timeline, it’s possible that Krennic already has Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) in captivity, so maybe it’s possible that he could make a cameo as well. It would be fun if they could get Riz Ahmed to cameo as cargo pilot Bohdi Rook, but I think an appearance from Krennic could be enough. He could even just be one of the Imperials in that room talking about the brewing Rebellion.

No release date has been set for the second season of Andor, but it’s possible it could come out sometime next year.

Hit Man’s Adria Arjona Talks Progress on Andor Season 2 https://www.geekfeed.com/adria-arjona-talks-progress-on-andor-season-2/ Sat, 15 Jun 2024 08:49:53 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82838 Adria Arjona is currently turning heads as the leading woman in Netflix’s Hit Man starring Glen Powell, but some can forget that she plays the supporting role of Bix in the critically-acclaimed Star Wars series Andor.

We know that a second season is underway, and Arjona talks a bit about development. She tells The New York Times, “Season 2 of Andor is coming out hopefully next year. I think people are going to freak when they see it. It’s so much bigger, smarter — Tony [Gilroy] really outdid himself.”

We don’t know exactly what to expect with the second season of Andor yet, but we see Cassian eventually embracing the Rebellion and officially working for Luthen Rael.

With Arjona’s Bix becoming a victim of the Empire in the first season, it’s likely that she could have a larger role in the second season, one that could have her be a more prominent partner to Cassian. Then again, since we don’t see any sign of her in Rogue One, it’s likely she could end up getting killed before the war starts on Scarif.

With Star Wars being loaded with spinoffs like The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor has managed to stand-out as a property that actually has something important to say to the core themes of Star Wars. There may not be as much blasting or spectacle, but a lot can agree this is for the Star Wars fans who want some more mature storytelling in the franchise.

No release date has been set for the second season of Andor, but you can watch the completed first season now streaming on Disney+. In the meantime, you can catch Arjona in Hit Man now streaming on Netflix.

Andor Season 2 Allegedly Returning to Naboo https://www.geekfeed.com/andor-season-2-allegedly-returning-to-naboo/ Tue, 21 Feb 2023 00:47:15 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73495 Star Wars spinoff series Andor has been very sparing when it comes to its references, but it could be coming back to a major prequel location in the next season.

As pointed out by MakingStarWars.net, Lucasfilm is said to be planning a shoot at Haver Castle, Kent, a location that was used as a palace exterior in Naboo way back in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Nothing official has been confirmed, but the site also specifies that there will be a ‘large sequence’ in the second season of Andor.

Of course, this location could also be for Damon Lindelof’s upcoming Star Wars movie or The Acolyte which is set during the High Republic Era. Since we don’t have any details about Lindelof’s Star Wars, Andor is the series with the closest timeline to Naboo, and I can imagine Cassian or some of the rebels trying to get information there, seeing as their former queen Padme Amidala was an ally of Rebellion leaders. I guess it’s also the home planet of Emperor Palpatine, so maybe he has something important stashed there that the rebels might want.

Personally Andor has been my favorite Star Wars show to come out of Disney+, and while it’s not as flashy as The Mandalorian or Obi-Wan Kenobi, the show does speak very mature themes that are central to Star Wars. I can’t wait to see more of Cassian’s evolution as he becomes a full-fledged rebel.

No release date has been announced for Andor 2, but you can watch the complete first season now on Disney+.

Tony Gilroy: Why Doesn’t Anyone Mention the Jedi in Andor? https://www.geekfeed.com/why-doesnt-anyone-mention-the-jedi-in-andor/ Fri, 25 Nov 2022 14:29:37 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72164 With the Jedi being known as a force of nature during the days of the Republic, some fans are wondering why they aren’t even mentioned in Andor. As it turns out, the answer is pretty simple—some people, or rather most people, don’t know they exist.

This was confirmed by show creator Tony Gilroy who was concerned that he didn’t want to bring the Jedi or the Force into the show. He tells Collider:

“That’s one of the first things I asked. And you know what? Most people don’t know. I don’t think anybody on Ferrix knows anything about it. I don’t think so… I think the vast majority of all of the creatures and beings and sentient things that are in the galaxy, I think the knowledge of the Jedi and the lightsaber is a pretty small number.”

I guess the lore in Andor does check out. After all, a character like Han Solo is expected to have been all over the galaxy, yet he doesn’t believe in Jedi or the Force when we meet him in A New Hope. If you want some further lore digging, Imperial decree had made it so that the Jedi were erased from history, and any evidence of their existence would be confiscated or destroyed.

If there were any characters that knew about Jedi in the show, I’d say Mon Mothma and Luthen would be good examples, seeing as Mothma was present on Coruscant during the days of the Republic, and Luthen collects all kinds of artifacts. Who knows, maybe they can mention some Jedi in the second season, but for now, I’m just very happy with the series feeling like it’s trying its hardest not to include any Easter Eggs.

For now, catch the complete first season of Andor on Disney+.

Narkina 5 is in Trouble in New Clip from Andor https://www.geekfeed.com/narkina-5-is-in-trouble-in-new-clip-from-andor/ Thu, 03 Nov 2022 06:29:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71851 The last episode of Andor had introduced us to the dystopian prison of Narkina 5, and while we got to watch Cassian live in the prison for a while, it seems like a huge change could be coming.

In this new clip from the series, we have the prisoners arguing among themselves whether something has gone terribly wrong in the facility or not. Watch this:

We don’t know what could be happening in the prison, but previous clips from the trailers have teased some kind of prison break in the facility. While everything seems to be in order in the past season, I am curious how the escape is going to happen. Is Luthen there to come and save Cassian? Will they just escape out of sheer luck?

I do have to say though, I am loving Andy Serkis’ character of Kino Loy. Though he only got to be a side character in the Sequel Trilogy, he has a really great presence in Andor, and I am kind of hoping that he eventually stands up with his fellow workers and helps facilitate their escape.

The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Catch new episodes of Andor on Disney+ every Wednesday.
