With the movie coming out in 2027, a lot of fans are bummed that they would have to wait longer, but Reeves has confirmed that development is pretty much underway with the movie expecting to shoot this year.

While rumors have been flying around for who the villain is, Reeves has shared that he’s not allowed to share who it is yet officially—but he has confirmed that at this point in the development, he’s already picked who the Dark Knight will go up against and it’s possible it could surprise audiences. Talking to Josh Horowitz at the Golden Globes, he does say, “I think that the story is a continuation in a certain way, and completely different in another, and it’s going to show a different side of [Robert Pattinson]. It’s going to be really cool.”

Since a lot of fans were expecting Mr. Freeze for years now, it’s possible that he won’t be the main villain of the sequel, but it’s been a while since he’s been adapted in live-action so it’s likely he could show up. There is also the guess that Barry Keoghan’s Joker is going to take the spotlight, but at this point, it does seem like they could be saving him for the main clash in the third movie.

So far, Reeves’ Gotham has been able to keep all the villains grounded and interesting, and fans are hoping that he manages to keep this streak going. After the success of The Penguin, the pressure is definitely on for Reeves to deliver with Part II.

I mean, why else are fans waiting this long?

The Batman Part II is expected to hit theatres Oct. 1, 2027.

The Batman Part II Delayed to 2027 https://www.geekfeed.com/the-batman-part-ii-delayed-to-2027/ Sat, 28 Dec 2024 16:13:00 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=85822 The hype for The Batman Part II has never been higher since the fantastic reception of The Penguin, but it looks like Matt Reeves fans will have to wait for another year longer than anticipated.

According to Variety, The Batman Part II, which was expected to come out in 2026, has been delayed for another year; which means that it’s now expected to hi theatres on October 1, 2027.

It’s not clear exactly why the delay is happening, but some fans are guessing that it could have something to do with Battinson’s connection to the DCU. DC Studios co-head James Gunn has been open about wanting this Batman to be part of the official canon, but Matt Reeves had been adamant that this universe works well by itself.

Some are guessing that either Reeves is taking the extra time to rework The Batman Part II to fit into the world of the DCU, or—my personal preference—he’s actually developing Part II and III of The Batman, and they’re planning on shooting the movies back to back.

This was how Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean were made, and so far they’ve been very lucrative properties in the box office.

With The Batman getting delayed again, fans are admittedly frustrated that they’ll have to wait even longer for the return of Battinson. If anything, it’s a testament to how many people loved Reeves take.

Who knows, maybe we’ll get that Clayface movie and Penguin Season 2 during the wait. Hopefully DCU makes an update soon.

The Batman Part II is now gearing up to release on Oct. 1, 2027.

The Penguin: Matt Reeves on Why Oz Killed [SPOILER] in the Finale https://www.geekfeed.com/the-penguin-matt-reeves-on-why-oz-killed/ Wed, 13 Nov 2024 11:23:11 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=85190 The Penguin has had a fantastic run for its first season, and the series has clearly set up Oz Cobb to be one of the most despicable people in Gotham.

Probably one of the biggest moments in the series was Oz killing his protégé Vic, who he had been bringing up throughout the entire season. But despite Vic’s loyalty, it seems that Oz had grown attached to him—resulting to him… killing Vic?

It’s definitely one of the worst things that Oz has done in the show, but a lot of fans think that it was all set up from the beginning. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, The Batman director Matt Reeves explained:

“It’s not about how he’s killing Vic because he thinks Vic failed him, or someone manipulated him… He’s killing him because he can’t bear the fact that he actually does have that closeness with this kid, because that makes him weak. He’s basically trying to strangle his vulnerability.”

Every fans’ jaw had collectively dropped when Oz got rid of Vic in the last few minutes of the show; but it was admittedly impressive how the series was able to make Oz likeable from the beginning only to have it slowly revealed that he was a sad psychopath toward the final episodes.

We don’t know what else is in store for Oz in this timeline, but it does seem he’s going to be having some political aspirations. Some speculate that he could end up being Gotham’s mayor by the third movie, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

In the meantime, fans can check out the complete season of The Penguin now streaming on Max.

Sofia Gigante to have a Role in The Batman Part II? https://www.geekfeed.com/sofia-gigante-in-the-batman-part-ii/ Thu, 24 Oct 2024 09:54:14 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=84898 A lot of praises have been sung for Colin Farrell in The Penguin, but Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Falcone (now Gigante) is considered to be a scene stealer. While some think that she would be dead by the end of the miniseries, that may not be the case down the line.

According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH (via ComicBookMovie), Gigante (Sofia) may have a large role to play in The Batman Part II. We don’t have any details, but with her killing the Falcones and attempting a team-up with the Maronis, she could very well be the next Kingpin of Gotham—not unless Oz Cobb has anything to say about it.

Admittedly, Sofia’s part has been expanded for this series, which is great since that leaves a lot of room to expand the character without too many comic book nerds getting angry at changes. Either way, Milioti has been stunning ever since the character was first introduced, to the eventual reveal of her backstory and takeover of the family.

At this point, a lot of fans don’t know if they should be even rooting for Oz anymore. Sure Gigante’s Sofia is violent, but she’s kind of the victim to the circumstances men put her in (specifically Oz and her father). Oz, on the other hand, just looks to be clawing his way to the top in some misunderstood belief that it will get his mother’s approval and respect.

Though Oz is admittedly charming and a little scrappy, some believe that he’ll be truly unlikeable by the time the seasons ends. We don’t know what he’ll do, but my fingers are definitely crossed that Sofia makes it out alive.

Catch new episodes of The Penguin Sunday nights on Max.

RUMOR: The Batman Part II’s Villain will be Hush https://www.geekfeed.com/rumor-the-batman-part-iis-villain-will-be-hush/ Mon, 09 Oct 2023 13:41:35 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79073 The Batman probably has the most memorable rogues gallery in all of DC, but while everyone is familiar with characters like Riddler, Penguin, and Joker, there are somepost-2000s characters that have also made their mark in the comics.

One specific character is Hush from Batman: Hush created by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee, and rumor has it that he could be making his big screen debut soon. According to The Hot Mic, the sequel to The Batman starring Robert Pattinson could be bringing in Hush to be the main villain.

I’m not going to spoil the comic, but the character of Hush was introduced as a sort of mastermind that knew intimate secrets about Bruce Wayne and used his rogues gallery to get to him. Hush’s signature look is that of a trench coat and a head covered with bandages.

DC also released an animated adaptation of the comic back in 2019:

Seeing that a lot of fans pretty much know who Hush is already, it’s very likely that they could just be borrowing elements from the comic to put into a whole new story, like the villain who knows about Bruce Wayne and manipulates other rogues to get to him.

I’m just curious about how they would tackle his costume, since the Riddler pretty much had the same look with his covered head and heavy coat.

Then again, this is just a rumor. Other villains that have been said to be appearing in this film include Clayface and Mister Freeze. Not to mention, there’s also Barry Keoghan’s Joker who a lot of fans believe should have been kept in the first movie.

Hopefully more details will be revealed soon. The Batman – Part II is set to come out Oct. 3, 2025.
