Beyond the Spider-Verse never got to come out this year, and a rumor has been going around that they are scrapping most of the movie. While this was picked up by several outlets, it does seem that the rumor has been debunked.

For context, the rumor was that Beyond the Spider-Verse was scrapping most of what’s already been made, and is now looking to release in 2027.

No Spider-Verse producer Chris Miller has come out on Twitter to confirm that the statement isn’t true, and that they are pretty much still keeping what they’ve made for the movie so far:

The initial report has also been debunked by the movie’s composer Daniel Pemberton who posted:

Admittedly, there was no specific comment on whether the movie was going to release in 2027, but with development still ongoing for the movie, maybe a 2026 release date would be more realistic?

It was originally thought that Beyond was going to come out this year, but because of all the work when it came to the animation, it had been effectively delayed. It also doesn’t help that several artists from the production had opened up about being overworked by producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord who have been described as pretty indecisive.

Funnily enough, this is the second time the pair have been criticized for approaching movies their way. They were also said to have been removed from Solo: A Star Wars Story because their indecisiveness was effectively delaying the production.

With these rumors going around, I’m just hoping that Sony is pushed to make an official release date soon. 2027 sounds pretty far, but is a 2025 release date completely unrealistic?

No release date has been set for Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Possible Plot of Spider-Noir Series Starring Nicolas Cage https://www.geekfeed.com/plot-of-spider-noir-series-starring-nicolas-cage/ Thu, 18 Jul 2024 12:51:58 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83382 Nicolas Cage may not be playing Ghost Rider anymore, but he’s managed to lend his voice for other superhero characters including Superman (Teen Titans GO!) and Spider-Noir (Into the Spider-Verse). With word going around that Cage is set to reprise his version of Spidey for a Spider-Noir series, a possible synopsis for the show has found its way online.

According to insider Daniel RPK (via @cosmic_marvel), the Spider-Noir series will not focus on Peter Parker, but Ben Reilly (a.k.a. Peter’s clone in the comics). Here’s the fully synopsis:

“We follow Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a private investigator, as he stumbles down a rabbit hole of corruption in 1933 New York City, while also establishing his past as a superhero. Reilly investigates the death of Edward Addison, which leads him to discover that the Mayor is up to something nefarious that involves crime boss Silvermane and femme fatale Yuri Watanabe.”

In the comics, Silvermane was a crime boss who had turned himself into a cyborg in an attemot to extend his life. Yuri Watanabe, on the other hand, was a police officer who took up the mantle of Wraith, a vigilante who can get brutal, but sometimes does team-ups with Spider-Man.

What’s crazy is that it’s said that Noir is planned to be a live-action series, but seeing that Sony couldn’t even get a handle on their live-action movies, I was convinced this was going to be animated.

And no offense to Cage, but I don’t think he wants to be onscreen jumping around and doing all kinds of kicks and flips as a Spider-Man variant. Unless they tell the story in that an older Ben Reilly is played by Cage, and he just flashes back to when he was a lot more spry.

A Spider-Noir series hasn’t been officially announced.

Chris Pratt is the Laziest Cat in New Trailer for The Garfield Movie https://www.geekfeed.com/chris-pratt-new-trailer-for-the-garfield-movie/ Thu, 07 Mar 2024 11:04:47 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81350 After dominating in live-action with Guardians of the Galaxy and animation with The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Chris Pratt is ready to once again star as a beloved pop-culture icon.

The Garfield Movie is set to come out this Memorial Day weekend, and we have a new trailer featuring Pratt’s Garfield as well as a new character in the form of Vic—Garfield’s rough and tumble street cat dad (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson).

Check out the latest trailer:

Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt), the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.

The last big cinematic attempts with Garfield were back in the ‘00s with Bill Murray voicing the cat for a live-action film, but now Sony is embracing the original comic format and delivering a wholly animated movie.

A lot of fans have been able to point out certain gags that originated in the comics, but it’s going to be interesting to see just how they’ll tackle Garfield’s arc of learning how to be a street cat, despite being famously a lazy house cat who loves Italian food and hates Mondays even if he doesn’t have a job.

The Garfield Movie comes to cinemas on the Memorial Day Weekend.

Watch the First 10 Minutes of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse https://www.geekfeed.com/watch-the-first-10-min-of-across-the-spider-verse/ Fri, 18 Aug 2023 07:32:49 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78267 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has come out to be one of the best superhero films of the year, and the movie has just hit digital. As per the usual promotion of recently released film, Sony has released the first 10 minutes of the movie, and it gives us a good look at the origin of Spider-Gwen.

Check this out:

Not only do the first 10 minutes manage to catch the audience up with Miles’ origin story from Into the Spider-Verse, but it also goes in-depth into Spider-Gwen’s origin, including her ‘canon event’, the death of her Peter Parker, as well as all the other characters surrounding her like Captain Stacy.

We also get to watch her fight with an alternate version of the Vulture, as well as the introduction of the film’s primary antagonist Spider-Man 2099 a.k.a. Miguel O’Hara.

Though superhero films like Quantumania and Shazam! Fury of the Gods may have received mixed reviews, Across the Spider-Verse has proven that it’s not really superhero fatigue that is weighing these films down, but rather the quality of the storytelling. As long as there are huge stakes and great emotional arcs, fans will be lining up to see the film—just like they did with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Though Beyond the Spider-Verse is promising a release next year, it’s possible that the WGA and SAG AFTRA strike will also be pushing the movie back. We’ll just have to wait and see until the studios strike a new, fair deal.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now available on digital.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Concept Art Shows Alternate Villains Mysterio, Dr. Actual Octopus, and More https://www.geekfeed.com/across-the-spider-verse-concept-art-alternates/ Thu, 27 Jul 2023 11:21:45 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77972 One of the funnest things about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the introduction of multiple Spider-Men, but the movie also has fun looking at the alternate version of Spidey’s villains. We had a look at the alternate Prowler played by Donald Glover, and concept artist Kris Anka shares a look at variants of Mysterio, Doctor Octopus, Shocker, and More.

Here’s his post:

While a lot of fans are already familiar with characters like Doc Ock and Mysterio, Big Wheel is actually an obscure Spider-Man villain who is just a literal big wheel (usually there’s a guy piloting it, but it looks like the wheel here is actually sentient). The Beetle in the comics is also just a character with a specialized suit; kind of like a bug-themed Iron Man.

Admittedly, the villains in Across the Spider-Verse were more of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos, but some are speculating that Beyond the Spider-Verse is going to be pitting multiple Spider-Men against an entire Multiverse of their villains. Then again, it does seem like the clash with the Spot is going to take over the entire plot, and it would be up to Miles to team-up with his Prowler variant to try and save the Multiverse.

For now, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming down to be one of the most celebrated comic book films of the year, but after all the controversy surrounding the animators being overworked, fans are hoping that the sequel manages to be easier on the artists this time around—even if it means the film has to be delayed even further.

Beyond the Spider-Verse is expected to come out March next year.

Everyone is Going Crazy Over This Spider-Punk Cosplay from Across the Spider-Verse https://www.geekfeed.com/spider-punk-cosplay-from-across-the-spider-verse/ Thu, 06 Jul 2023 13:40:58 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77662 There were a lot of great characters in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, but one standout was definitely Hobie Brown a.k.a. Spider-Punk. The film has been out for barely a month, and we already have some great cosplay from @whoachriswhoa.

This costume went viral on Twitter earning up to 2 million views:

While it was probably impossible to pull off the multiple filters that Hobie goes through in the film, you can see that the cosplay actually goes into great lengths to mimic the animated look, from the lines on the face to the blue highlights on the hair. If anything, I’d say the hair was probably the trickiest thing to pull off.

What’s neat is, there was also a Spider-Man India cosplayer at the con, and he managed to shoot a video with @whoachriswhoa in it:

We don’t know what’s in store for Hobie when it comes to Beyond the Spider-Verse, but we saw him teaming up with Gwen and a handful of Spider-People who weren’t onboard with how Miguel O’Hara treated Miles.

For now, the conclusion of the trilogy is expected to come out next year, but if recent reports are to be believed, it’s likely that Beyond could be pushed back further to 2025, maybe even 2026. It’s going to be a hard wait, but I’d personally prefer that to knowing that a bunch of artists were severely overworked to deliver the film on time.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is slated for a release on March 29, 2024.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Art Book Reveals More about ‘Miles G. Morales’ https://www.geekfeed.com/across-the-spider-verse-miles-g-morales/ Mon, 03 Jul 2023 03:00:03 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77538 A lot of fans were shocked when the end of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse revealed an alternate version of Miles who became the Prowler, but we barely know anything about the character.

According to the art book for the movie, they’re dubbing this alternate Miles as ‘Miles G. Morales (kind of like ‘Peter B. Parker’), and he’s also described as a vigilante in his world.

The description reads:

“This version of the character was never bitten by a radioactive spider and doesn’t have any superpowers, but he has fallen into the role of becoming the vigilante the Prowler, under the tutelage of his Uncle Aaron.”

The word ‘vigilante’ is very key in the description, because this could mean that the alternate Miles is still a force for good, even if he was pretty threatening when we met him at the end of the movie. To contextualize, the Prowler in Miles’ universe is a mercenary hired by the Kingpin; it’s possible this new Prowler still fights dirty, but he wouldn’t be called a vigilante otherwise.

For now, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is aiming for a release next year, but artists who are close to the film have recently come out about the grueling conditions they were subjected to when they made this film—hinting that the movie may not be able to release in 2025.

Though it would be hard to wait longer, I don’t think I can enjoy a movie (or game) knowing that several people had been severely overworked to deliver it.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is slated for a release on March 29, 2024.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Animators Claim They Were Overworked for the Movie https://www.geekfeed.com/across-the-spider-verse-animators-were-overworked/ Mon, 26 Jun 2023 18:24:01 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77462 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been getting all the praises online ever since it released this month, but now the film has come upon a behind-the-scenes snag that could tarnish its otherwise sparkling reputation.

Apparently, multiple artists from the film have opened up to Vulture to claim that they have been overworked for the film, with some doing 11-hour days, seven days a week. It got so bad that over 100 people were said to have left the project because of the working conditions.

The sources for the article haven’t been named, but the name of producer Phil Lord has been pointed out as one of the major problems during production, with Lord having final say over every sequence being worked on, and him apparently constantly changing his mind—resulting in overworked artists.

One source claimed:

“It is not as though Phil is unfamiliar with how animation works. His and Chris Miller’s work speaks for itself. Obviously, they are successful, and the work that they produce is good. Even I was a fan of their work; I would still say that I am. But because it’s successful, because it’s award-winning, he doesn’t have a lot of people stopping him from making the changes he wants to make. The thing is, Phil and Chris are incapable of committing to an idea. They don’t really have a clear vision. What they’re good at is slowly and incrementally making things better through trial and error.”

Because of the producers’ alleged indecisiveness, multiple sequences had to be pushed back, and when approval finally came, that’s when a lot of artists ended up getting overworked, trying to reach the deadline. This isn’t even the first time the two have been criticized for not being able to make a decision; it was said that it was also indecisiveness that got them kicked out of Solo: A Star Wars Story while they were in the middle of making the film.

Though Beyond the Spider-Verse is expected to release next year, this news has led fans to believe that we may have to wait until 2025 to see the release. The wait will be excruciating, but it’s a lot harder to think that they’re going to overwork a bunch of artists again just to release the film on time.

For now, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now showing in theaters.

Everything Everywhere All at Once Reference Spotted in Across the Spider-Verse https://www.geekfeed.com/eeaao-reference-in-across-the-spider-verse/ Mon, 05 Jun 2023 16:55:30 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77148 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse just came out last weekend, and the internet is buzzing with praise for Miles Morales’ latest adventure. We know that the film is filled to the brim with all kinds of references to previous Spider-Man materials, but there’s actually a reference to one of the biggest movies of last year, Everything Everywhere All at Once.

This was pointed out by New Rockstars’ @eavoss:

To clarify, there’s a billboard on the top of the Spot’s apartment that says, “All of it Always All Over the Place” which is a clear reference to the 2022 hit film.

In Across the Spider-Verse, the Spot explains how he was an employee in Alchemax and was actually the scientist that Miles hits in the head with a bagel during their escape. In EEAAO, the bagel becomes a symbolic visual, with the main antagonist trying to create a literal “Everything Bagel” that will swallow up the multiverse.

It’s a pretty neat Easter Egg, considering that the Spot is also a villain that deals with the Multiverse. Phil Lord and Chris Miller may not have had anything to do with EEAAO, but I guess the movie also has a Marvel connection, what with it being produces by Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

For now, everyone is just geeking out about Across the Spider-Verse, which is a pretty solid film by itself besides all the references and jokes. Admittedly, it ends in a massive cliffhanger, and I’m hoping we don’t have to wait too long to follow-up on Miles’ story with Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Miles Fights The Spot in Latest Preview for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse https://www.geekfeed.com/miles-fights-the-spot-in-across-the-spider-verse/ Mon, 15 May 2023 10:56:58 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76777 We may not have a release date for Tom Holland’s next Spider-Man movie yet, but we are getting the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse next month. Trailer for the movie have been pretty open about Miles going up against the ‘Spider Society’, but this final preview for the film has more of Miles fighting the interdimensional villain the Spot.

Check this out:

It’s been teased that the Spot doesn’t have full control of their powers, but the trailer really gives us a look at just how visually zany his fights with Miles can get. We don’t really know how he factors into the story, but it’s possible that Miguel O’Hara may want to put the Spot down while Miles tries to fight to keep him alive.

Or not, I’m really just guessing from what we’re seeing in the trailers.

With Into the Spider-Verse being as sparing as it was with the alternate Spider-People, I’m really excited to see the whole world expand with Miles and the Spider Society. When is he coming to live-action?

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

International Trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Has More Miles vs. The Spot https://www.geekfeed.com/international-trailer-across-the-spider-verse/ Sun, 07 May 2023 16:37:48 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76652 The Spot has been an obscure Spider-Man villain from the comics, but he’s set to come to the spotlight with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Just in, we have a new international trailer for the film, and it has more of Miles taking on the Spot.

Check this out:

We don’t know exactly what the Spot’s goal is in the film, but we do know that his powers have something to do with interdimensional travel. It’s possible he could pose some kind of threat to the multiverse which puts him under the radar of the other Spider-Men; however, I think Miles might actually try to save him.

Then again, that’s just my guess based on what we’ve seen in the trailers. So far, the Spot doesn’t seem overtly sinister, and the film has been pushing hard that Miles will be going up against Miguel O’Hara and the rest of his Spider-Crew.

The film is said to be the first of a two-part story, and I’m hoping we get a tease for the sequel by the time the credits role. We’ll be lucky if it releases next year too.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the ‘Empire Strikes Back’ of the Franchise https://www.geekfeed.com/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse-is-esb/ Thu, 16 Mar 2023 17:12:45 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=74073 While Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse stands pretty well by itself, it looks like the follow-up, Across the Spider-Verse, is going to be the first part of a bigger story.

Talking to Empire, producer Chris Miller explains how Across will be the Empire Strikes Back of the Spider-Verse franchise. He explains:

“People who’ve seen Across… have told us that it feels like The Empire Strikes Back of the Spider-Verse franchise… It shows you worlds you haven’t seen, and it’s an emotional story that ends in a place where you need to see the third one. So, yeah: this is our Empire.”

We don’t know exactly where the story is expected to end, but if you’ve seen ESB, you’ll know that it notoriously has a dark ending, what with Luke Skywalker losing his hand and Han Solo being frozen in Carbonite.

So far, Spider-Verse seems to be clear with the ramifications of opening up a multiverse, with Miles and Gwen finding themselves in the middle of a ‘Spider-Verse war’ going head-to-head with Spider-Man 2099 Miguel O’Hara. With Tom Holland’s Spider-Man being broken down to rock bottom with No Way Home, I’m eager to watch Miles Morales undergo some serious story moments in his own franchise.

Hopefully they can set up Miles for live-action in the future, but so far, his characterization in the Spider-Verse films have been fantastic. He isn’t Peter Parker, but he’s definitely his own Spider-Man.

International Banner for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Reveals Several Other Spider-People https://www.geekfeed.com/spider-verse-2-banner-reveals-more-spider-people/ Fri, 23 Dec 2022 15:32:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72609 Though Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse promises an entire multiverse of Spider-Men, we know that only some are key players including Spider-Woman Jess Walters and Spider-Man 2099. What’s cool is, we have an international banner, and it features a whole bunch of Spider-Men in the movie including some fan-favorite iterations.

Check this out:

Probably the most recognizable to gamers is Spider-Man from the PS4 game with the white chest symbol, but other fans have also spotted Spidey clone the Scarlet Spider as well as the Spectacular Spider-Man from the 2008 animated series.

There are also several other versions from the comics in the banner, but I am hoping that we have some original versions that were solely made for the movie.

After Into the Spider-Verse, I’m excited for what’s in store for Across. Though Sony’s live-action Spidey spinoffs like Venom may feel like steps back for the superhero genre, the animated side definitely knows how to push things forward in a fresh new tone.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Miles Encounters the Spot in New Image from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse https://www.geekfeed.com/new-image-from-spider-man-across-the-spider-verse/ Wed, 21 Dec 2022 13:28:41 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72561 The latest trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse had confirmed a clash between Miles and a multiverse of Spider-Men, but we had no look at the film’s alleged main villain, The Spot.

While we don’t know what The Spot looks like animated, we do have a teaser image of him running into Miles in a bodega. Check this out:

Though the Spot looks like he’s some kind of cow-person, he actually has a set of very crazy powers in that his body is covered in multidimensional portals. He can either absorb blows and have Spidey’s hits land somewhere else, or he can also conjure portals outside of his body and throw other people in.

We don’t know exactly how the Spot is going to be a threat in the film, but I think he would have to be involved if the main issue has something to do with the multiverse. My guess is that the Spot is an unwitting villain, and Miles and Gwen will know this; but the Spider-Men have decided that they may have to kill the Spot instead of trying to help him.

If you ask me, my theory is kind of a cookie-cutter hero’s dilemma, and I would be much happier if we got a story that nobody would see coming. Hopefully the Spot gets his time to shine in the next Spider-Verse trailer—whenever that drops.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set for a release in cinemas on June 2, 2023.

Past Meets Future in Trailer for 65 Starring Adam Driver https://www.geekfeed.com/past-meets-future-in-trailer-for-65/ Mon, 19 Dec 2022 08:22:17 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72510 Adam Driver may have put his Star Wars days behind him, with him taking on more dramatic roles with movies like Annette and Marriage Story, but it looks like he’s ready to come back to the world of science-fiction with the upcoming film called 65.

Check out the official trailer here:

Here’s the official description:

After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills (Adam Driver) quickly discovers he’s actually stranded on Earth…65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive.

The movie comes from writer/directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods who were also the same creative behind A Quiet Place. Of course, it’s also worth noting that the movie is produced by horror/comic book movie icon Sam Raimi.

I’ll admit, the synopsis kind of spoils the big twist that Adam Driver travelled to prehistoric Earth, but I guess there’s more to the story than that if they want to immediately let the audience know about the Planet of the Apes-esque reveal.

Who knows, maybe it was marketing’s idea to reveal this was earth 65 million years ago. If it were me, I think they would have sold the film just fine with Adam Driver and the promise of dinosaurs going up against sci-fi weapons.

Catch 65 when it comes to theaters March 10, 2023.

New Trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has Miles Clash with A Legion of Spider-Men https://www.geekfeed.com/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse-new-trailer/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 14:47:39 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72484 It seems that speculation has been confirmed. After the first look at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse had a scene with Miles seemingly being chased by Spider-Man 2099, this new trailer confirms that there will indeed be a clash among the Spider-people in the upcoming film.

Watch the latest trailer here:

Here’s the official description:

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Despite being touted as the new villain for the film, the trailer doesn’t really give us a look at The Spot yet. Instead, we’re given a look at all the different Spider-Men, and it’s kind of implied that there could be an all-out Spider-War with Miles and the rest not being able to agree on something.

As a fan of the first Spider-Verse, I can’t wait to see what they’re bringing to the table with this film. I think all the designs for the Spider-variants are interesting,  and I absolutely love the design of the pregnant (and now black) Spider-Woman Jessica Drew.

Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse Teases New Trailer with Image of Miles and Gwen https://www.geekfeed.com/across-the-spider-verse-teases-new-trailer/ Tue, 06 Dec 2022 11:34:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72338 Across the Spider-Verse was originally set to come out last October, but Sony had pushed the release to next year, much to the dismay of the fans. Now it looks like they’re ready to start marketing the film again, and we have a tease for a new trailer next week, and what’s great is, we have a new image of Miles and Gwen to mark the announcement.

Check this out:

A romance between the two had been teased by the end of Into the Spider-Verse, and it seems like they’re going to be leaning into it when it comes to this sequel. Though Gwen Stacy is infamously a love interest of Peter Parker, it’s an interesting revamp of the character that Gwen would fall for another Spider-Man in the form of Miles.

Then again, we could be looking at a platonic relationship, and I guess that’s just as meaningful. After all, I don’t expect one of them to give up their reality for the other.

So far, the plot for Across the Spider-Verse has been kept under wraps, but with the material we’ve already seen, we could be looking at some kind of Spider-Verse war between all the variations of Spider-Man. Though we did have a look at the villain the Spot, I think the main antagonist could be Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099 who we meet in the post-credits of Into the Spider-Verse.

Fingers crossed the incoming trailer will reveal more.

Watch out for the new trailer when it drops on Dec. 13. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2023.

Check out the new trailer for Across the Spider-Verse:

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

Though the Spider-Verse sequel had been announced for a while, this is the first time we have confirmation that it will be a two-part movie. We don’t know what that implies, but with the Multiverse storylines starting to creep into live-action, we can only expect the animated Spider-Verse to really lean in on the concept; after all, they did start the trend.

Going back to the clip though, we see that there is also a considerable time gap, what with Miles having grown from the last film. It’s also unclear, but it looks like Miles is actually trying to run away from Miguel O’Hara in the clip, but then again, is that Miguel? The build is significantly larger.

We can’t wait to see more of the movie. If anything, it’s kind of stealing some of the No Way Home hype with the promise of an even larger crossover.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comes to theaters on Oct. 7, 2022.

Dracula and His Gang Become Humans in Trailer for Hotel Transylvania: Transformania https://www.geekfeed.com/dracula-and-his-gang-become-humans-in-trailer-for-hotel-transylvania-transformania/ Wed, 19 May 2021 01:09:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59568 After three movies, Hotel Transylvania is ready to come back for one more entry, but this time, Drac is going to be the one who’s a human and his son-in-law Johnny becomes the monster.

Watch the trailer for the new Hotel Transylvania movie down here:

Drac and the pack are back, like you’ve never seen them before in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. Reunite with your favorite monsters for an all-new adventure that presents Drac with his most terrifying task yet. When Van Helsing’s mysterious invention, the ‘Monsterfication Ray,” goes haywire, Drac and his monster pals are all transformed into humans, and Johnny becomes a monster! In their new mismatched bodies, Drac, stripped of his powers, and an exuberant Johnny, loving life as a monster, must team up and race across the globe to find a cure before it’s too late, and before they drive each other crazy. With help from Mavis and the hilariously human Drac Pack, the heat is on to find a way to switch themselves back before their transformations become permanent.

Though Dracula is the center of the franchise, this movie will not have Adam Sandler reprising the lead role. Instead, the voice of Dracula will be provided by Brian Hull.  Other cast members from the previous films like Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Molly Shannon, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, and Fran Drescher are set to reprise their roles. Keegan-Michael Key is also coming back to voice Murray after original actor CeeLo Green got arrested on drug charges.

I think it’s also worth noting that this will be the first Hotel Transylvania movie not to have Genndy Tartakovsky in the director’s chair. We don’t know what losing the main star and Tartakovsky is going to do for the franchise, but it looks like new directors Derek Drymon and Jennifer Kluska have the look of the previous films down to a tee.

Catch Hotel Transylvania: Transformania when it comes out on July 23.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Stars in Teaser for Netflix’s Vivo https://www.geekfeed.com/lin-manuel-miranda-stars-in-teaser-for-netflixs-vivo/ Mon, 03 May 2021 09:15:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59348 After the release of The Mitchells vs. The Machines on Netflix, Sony Pictures Animation is once again teaming up with the streaming service for their next film Vivo.

Here the teaser for Vivo:

The official description of the film reads:

An animated musical adventure that follows VIVO, a one-of-kind kinkajou (aka a rainforest “honey bear,” voiced by Miranda), who must find his way from Havana to Miami in order to deliver a song on behalf of his beloved owner and mentor Andres (Buena Vista Social Club’s Juan de Marcos Gonzáles).

On the surface the film feels like a mix between Rio and Coco, but hopefully it manages to find a unique voice that will set itself apart.

Other actors in the project include Gloria Estefan, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Bryan Tyree Henry, and Leslie David Baker. The movie is also being directed by Kirk DeMicco (The Croods) and Brandon Jeffords (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2).

The film touts itself as Sony Animation’s first musical, and will also feature original songs from Miranda himself. We don’t get to hear any of that in the teaser, but hopefully we don’t have to wait too long; a trailer released now could mean that the movie could premiere in a few months. Hopefully we don’t have to wait until the end of the year.

No release date has been set for Vivo, but you can watch Sony’s fantastic The Mitchells vs. The Machines now on Netflix.
