According to Daniel RPK, Logan Kim—who plays Podcast in Ghostbusters—has been cast as Amadeus Cho a.k.a. Brawn a.k.a. The Totally Awesome Hulk.

No details have been revealed as to where the series wants to introduce Amadeus Cho, but if I were to make a guess, it’s possible that they would want him to be a member of the Young Avengers. Then again, that group’s Hulk in the comics is Teddy Altman a.k.a. Hulkling, who is in a romantic relationship with Billy Kaplan/Wiccan, and is actually a Skrull/Kree hybrid—which explains why he’s green and strong.

If anything, Marvel is known to mix things up a bit, and it’s possible that they would just want a newer Hulk character to fill in that role for Young Avengers. Then again, Hulkling and Wiccan have been a couple for so long in the comics that there are sure to be fans upset if they don’t introduce Teddy and replace him with Amadeus.

Going back to the character of Amadeus, he’s considered to be one of the smartest people in the Marvel universe, and much like She-Hulk, he retains his personality and temperament when he’s Hulk/Brawn. With newer characters like Kamala Khan making the jump to live-action, Amadeus is sure to be a fun addition to the MCU. Let’s just hope we don’t have to wait too long before he shows up.

My fingers are still crossed for a Gwenpool introduction soon. How about an animated series?

Concept Art Reveals Cancelled She-Hulk from Avengers Game https://www.geekfeed.com/cancelled-she-hulk-from-avengers-game-revealed/ Mon, 19 Aug 2024 09:29:17 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83764 Crystal Dynamics made a huge swing and miss with Avengers: A-Day, and while the game may be dead now, some concept art has been revealed of who would have been an incoming character.

As shared by Miller Ross on Twitter, here’s concept art of a playable Jennifer Walters a.k.a. She-Hulk that was supposed to appear in the second season of the game. Check this out:

The art comes from Sean Izaakse and the character was said to have been voiced by Krizia Bajos (Spider-Man 2, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League). We don’t know how she would play, but she’s likely going to be a more agile version of the Hulk, who was a playable character in the base version of the game.

Considered to be one of Square Enix’s biggest flops, Avengers: A-Day launched to terrible reviews, and was only able to survive for a few more years before Crystal Dynamics officially pulled the plug on the game’s live service.

In that time though, the game was able to release a bunch of DLC including playable Marvel characters like Black Panther, both Hawkeyes Clint Barton and Kate Bishop, Winter Soldier, Jane Foster, and Spider-Man. Despite the short hype the characters were able to get, they ultimately couldn’t save the game which just couldn’t seem to shake off its bad press during launch.

For now, it looks like Marvel has found their video game golden goose with Marvel Rivals. Reviews for the game have been great so far, but we’ll have to wait until the official release to see just how successful it can be.

Avengers: A-Day has been pulled from digital stores, but the game is still available via physical copies for PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox Series X.

Second Season of She-Hulk could Still Happen https://www.geekfeed.com/second-season-of-she-hulk-could-still-happen/ Fri, 19 Jan 2024 16:30:19 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80659 Despite being praised for sticking true to the source material, Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law still got repeatedly bashed online by the “anti-woke” Marvel mob, and we don’t have a second season in sight.

Reports were coming out earlier this week that star Tatiana Maslany had revealed during a Twitch stream that a second season of She-Hulk was unlikely with Disney. She said, “I don’t think so… I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks!’”

While She-Hulk haters were ecstatic about the news, io9 does say that the statement can be taken out of context. According to the site, Marvel is merely going through a “reevaluation” since Bob Iger returned to run the Disney company, and the slates and films had to be reshuffled and adjusted again. “… While Marvel works everything out, it’s not that a second season of She-Hulk has been completely abandoned. It just seems less likely than not at the moment,” the site writes.

Though the series did get generally good reviews, the biggest problem with She-Hulk was said to be in the budget, with Marvel said to have spent upwards of $200 million for the first season. With the show admittedly not making Mandalorian numbers, it would make sense for Disney to re-evaluate and figure out the most cost effective way to bring Shulkie back for another season.

If you ask me, they can probably just go with a movie, but the “new client a week” format does seem to be very core with the show.

Daredevil Gets a New Look in Echo Teaser https://www.geekfeed.com/daredevil-gets-a-new-look-in-echo-teaser/ Fri, 05 Jan 2024 18:26:33 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80378 We know that Disney+’s Echo series is going to heavily focus on the relationship between Maya and the Kingpin, but fans weren’t expecting an appearance from the Man without Fear himself, Daredevil.

Just in, Echo has dropped a new teaser, and it has Maya taking on Daredevil in an all-new costume. Check this out:

Charlie Cox made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: Now Way Home as Matt Murdock, but he had a more major appearance as Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law; and we saw him donning the original yellow/red colors.

We don’t know exactly what would bring Daredevil clashing with Maya in Echo, but it would definitely have something to do with her relationship to the Kingpin, who has undoubtedly been overbearing with all of the promotion for the series.

With Disney dropping all the episodes at once, I have a feeling that they don’t have that much faith in the show. But then again, I think they immediately want fans onboard with appearances from both fan favorites. With Daredevil: Born Again redoing everything from the ground-up, Echo will be the closest thing fans will have to a Daredevil revival for a while.

I’m just hoping that Maya herself gets the spotlight that she deserves in her own show. I wouldn’t want them to pull a Book of Boba Fett and have two episodes just focusing on Kingpin and DD and not Maya. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

All episodes of Echo start streaming on Disney+ on Jan. 9.

Charlie Cox Endorses Jessica Henwick Coming Back as Iron Fist https://www.geekfeed.com/charlie-cox-endorses-jessica-henwick-as-iron-fist/ Thu, 20 Oct 2022 14:40:42 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71675 A lot of people are excited for Charlie Cox coming back to the MCU, and he’s currently working on the Marvel Studios revamp of Daredevil. A lot of fans are curious when the other Netflix heroes will make their debut in the main canon, and while some are expecting recasts, Cox already has a good idea on who could be Iron Fist.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Cox endorsed the return of Jessica Henwick to Marvel fold. When asked if he could give in a good word for Henwick’s Colleen Wing, Cox said:

“Yeah, she’s amazing. She’s amazing. Look, I agree with you, wholeheartedly. I could also say that about a number of people that I worked with not only on Daredevil, but also on the other shows we did there. So I don’t know what they’re thinking, but I will absolutely put in a good word. And you’re 100 percent right about that. [Jessica] is awesome. And I did get a lovely text from her the other day saying that she read the news and was thrilled for me.”

While a lot of people remember Finn Jones as Iron Fist from the Netflix show, the series did also give the power to Collen Wing (her fist glows white rather than yellow).

Though I think Henwick would be a fine addition to the MCU, there are some fans who want to give Finn Jones a chance to redo Danny Rand again, since he was considered to be the least popular Defender from Marvel Netflix.

If you ask me, the character that needs a lot of work is Luke Cage, since his Netflix iteration is more of a black Captain America, rather than the more morally grey, street-smart Luke Cage from the comics.

No release date has been set for Daredevil: Born Again, but you can catch him in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law now streaming on Disney+.

She-Hulk Director Wanted Edward Norton to Make an Appearance https://www.geekfeed.com/she-hulk-director-wanted-edward-norton-appearance/ Tue, 18 Oct 2022 10:06:35 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71627 The Incredible Hulk may have been mostly forgotten by the MCU, but they did manage to call back to the movie with actors like Tim Roth (Abomination) appearing on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. As it turns out, they wanted  the original MCU Bruce Banner to make an appearance as well.

Talking to The Direct, series director Kat Coiro explains there was an idea to bring in Edward Norton. She says, “There was a lot of talk about the fact that the last time they were together a different actor was playing the Hulk. And Mark [Ruffalo] made quite a few jokes about that. And we did entertain the idea of swapping Mark out for Edward Norton. But that did not come to pass.”

Originally, Marvel Studios was set to push forward with their franchise with Edward Norton playing the part of Bruce Banner. We don’t know how negotiations went down with Norton, but he was originally planned to appear in The Avengers back in 2012. Norton left the project, and Mark Ruffalo walked in, essentially giving us his own version of a mild-mannered Bruce Banner.

With She-Hulk’s meta nature, an appearance from Norton would make a lot of sense, but I guess it could be a money issue, especially with all the stars they already brought together for the series. We don’t even know how Norton feels about the MCU, seeing that he hasn’t really collaborated with anyone at Marvel since The Incredible Hulk. Then again, I wouldn’t mind them having him appear for some multiverse shenanigans.

Tatiana Maslany and Her 6’5″ She-Hulk Body Double BTS Photo https://www.geekfeed.com/tatiana-maslany-and-her-65-she-hulk-body-double/ Mon, 03 Oct 2022 14:05:16 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71377 The entire character of She-Hulk may be CG, but Marvel does several things to try and make things practical, even bringing in an on-set reference to play her. While the concept of a giant muscle woman may be fantasy in the show, Marvel actually brought in an actual giant woman to stand-in.

Check out Malia Nahinu standing next to actress Tatiana Maslany in this BTS photo:

https://twitter.com/Malia_Arrayah/status/1575534561189974017

Admittedly, Nahinu is still shorter than She-Hulk by two inches, but her height is enough to act as a reference point for several of Jen’s scenes. You can also see that Nahinu is covered in fake muscles to give her a closer look to She-Hulk. In some BTS shots she also gets the big hair.

If anything, it kind of feels like the old Hulk series where they have different actos playing Hulk and Bruce Banner. Hopefully the showrunners give Nahinu some kind of onscreen cameo in the future; I mean, even Mark Hamill gets credit for playing Luke Skywalker in The Book of Boba Fett, and he essentially just provides the reference like Nahinu does—the rest of the part is brought to life by another actor and an army of VFX artists.

So far She-Hulk is having a fantastic run, and is really embracing its sitcom format. Though a lot of fans are excited to see Daredevil, I am just having fun watching Jen navigate all these crazy legal issues surrounding super-powered people.

Mark Ruffalo Allegedly in Talks to Reprise Hulk for Captain America 4 https://www.geekfeed.com/mark-ruffalo-allegedly-in-talks-to-reprise-hulk/ Thu, 29 Sep 2022 14:15:48 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71335 We don’t know if we’ll ever get a Hulk solo movie, but the character has found ways to make it to the big screen, like with his appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. Now word has it that Ruffalo’s Hulk could be making an appearance in another Marvel solo movie.

According to Screen Geek, Mark Ruffalo is currently in talks to appear in the upcoming Captain America: New World Order. Nothing official has been confirmed, but with the movie said to be bringing back Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader from The Incredible Hulk, it would make sense that Bruce Banner would make some kind of appearance.

In The Incredible Hulk, Samuel Sterns was another scientist who was in correspondence with a Bruce Banner, secretly helping him find a cure to his gamma radiation condition. While Banner was clearly afraid of the Hulk, Sterns was shown to be actively fascinated by the condition—and after a mishap with the Abomination Emil Blonsky, Sterns found himself infected with Bruce’s blood; teasing his transformation into the Leader.

The ongoing rumor is that the Leader will create a team of new Hulks with the use of She-Hulk’s blood—which has been teased in the Disney+ show. While that does sound like a solid plot, I hope that fans don’t have to watch the series to be able to enjoy Captain America 4. After all, that was the problem with Wanda’s sudden evil turn in Doctor Strange 2; it only made more sense if you watched WandaVision.

If anything, I’m excited for the return of the Leader, and I’m eager to see Hulk take on some kind of supporting role. Let’s just hope Anthony Mackie doesn’t get sidelined in his own movie.

Captain America: New World Order comes to theaters May 3, 2024. For more Hulk, check out She-Hulk: Attorney at Law now streaming on Disney+.

Mid-Season Trailer for She-Hulk has More Daredevil https://www.geekfeed.com/trailer-for-she-hulk-has-more-daredevil/ Mon, 12 Sep 2022 14:41:56 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71009 She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has been having a great run so far, and Disney+ has just dropped a mid-season teaser which gives us more Matt Murdock/Daredevil.

Watch this:

It’s actually great that they have Matt kind of put Jen’s She-Hulk powers into perspective, after all, they are both lawyers who have super-powered alter-egos. I guess the difference is, Jen and She-Hulk are recognized as the same person, with Matt’s Daredevil persona being a huge secret.

While the appearance of Daredevil has been hyped up for the show, the series has actually been standing pretty well on its own. Despite the trolls who have nothing but terrible things to say about the She-Hulk, a lot of fans love Jennifer Walters and watching her be reluctantly thrust into this world of superheroes. Not to mention we’ve been having some fun cameos with Hulk, Wong, and new fan-favorite Madisynn who has taken Twitter by storm.

Going back to Daredevil and cameos though, we see a lot of other characters are going to be making the spotlight in the latter half of the season. Jameela Jamil’s Titania is finally going to be returning to the spotlight, and this time we actually get to watch a proper clash with Jen. Besides her, we also have a look at obscure fan-favorite Frogman; we don’t know what exactly he has to do with the story, but a lot of fans are excited to see more of these C-tier heroes.

Jameela Jamil Got Megan Thee Stallion Into She-Hulk https://www.geekfeed.com/jameela-jamil-got-megan-thee-stallion-in-she-hulk/ Mon, 05 Sep 2022 01:50:15 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70862 Jameela Jamil may not have gotten the spotlight yet when it comes to She-Hulk, but she was the reason for the last episodes most talked-about moment.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Jamil confirms that it was her who had gotten Megan Thee Stallion to appear in She-Hulk. She says:

“I was the one that made that happen, yes. I know Megan from Legendary, and I know how legendary she is, and she’s so smart, so funny, and such a star, and I’m such a fan. I was preparing to come and do this when I was filming Legendary Season 2, and I just asked her and she turned out to be a huge Marvel fan, and I just had a feeling she’d be a great actor, cause she’s good at everything—and she absolutely smashed it.”

In a separate interview with TV Line, show writer Jessica Gao had also confirmed that it was Jamil that got Megan in the show, but it was ultimately star Tatiana Maslany who was responsible for having She-Hulk twerking with the star.

As you can imagine, a lot of Marvel fans weren’t so keen on having a superheroine twerking with a real-life celebrity, but you don’t see them complaining when Baron Zemo or Star-Lord bust out dancing all of a sudden.

The series has been surprisingly meta since it debuted, and you can just feel the writers enjoying making fun of the haters who had been angry at the series since the show was announced. As someone who wants a bit more from the Marvel machine, I say bring on more of the superhero lawyer show.

Jen has to Find Wong in New Clip from She-Hulk https://www.geekfeed.com/jen-has-to-find-wong-in-new-clip-from-she-hulk/ Thu, 01 Sep 2022 12:10:46 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70839 The last episode of She-Hulk had Jennifer Walters coming face to face with Incredible Hulk villain Emil Blonsky, and it looks like we’re going to beseeing more of the Abomination in the next episode.

In a new clip from She-Hulk, we have Jen talking to Blonsky some more and coming to revelation that she has to contact the world’s current Sorcerer Supreme, Wong. Watch this:

I have to say, the character work with Blonsky and the build-up for Wong’s appearance are great. From the soldier that was just obsessed with being the best, Blonsky is revealed to actually have a good reason for wanting out of his incarceration; on the Wong side of things, fans will just get a kick of his implied life outside of the movies, with him being a Target employee and having a LinkedIn account.

Despite the review bombings from angry incels, She-Hulk has been getting a lot of praise with critics. Besides it’s aversion from the tried and tested ‘Marvel formula,’ fans are loving the feminist ideals of Jen, and her take on women and controlling anger. Hopefully we get more of that in the show moving forward.

Though She-Hulk herself is an interesting character, the series has been rife with some interesting cameos. Blonsky and Wong may be in the spotlight this episode, but fans are still waiting for the re-debut of Daredevil in the show.

Megan Thee Stallion Joins She-Hulk: Attorney at Law https://www.geekfeed.com/megan-thee-stallion-joins-she-hulk-series/ Tue, 30 Aug 2022 13:42:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70794 It looks like She-Hulk is going to keep the cameos going for its first season.

After we got Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth in the first two episodes, Entertainment Weekly reports that another celebrity will be making an appearance in the show—specifically Hot Girl Summer’s Megan Thee Stallion.

So far, we don’t have any specifics about her role, but I have a feeling she could be appearing as herself on the show. Based on the trailers, we know that Jennifer Walters gets a sudden surge of popularity after she gains her powers, so it wouldn’t be strange if she suddenly found herself running into random celebrities.

Of course, there’s also the possibility that Megan could be playing a completely different character. With The Weeknd and Kid Cudi taking on acting roles recently, it would make sense that an artist like Megan would want to try out her acting chops in a Marvel project. I mean, her appearance could even get other people to check out the show.

So far, She-Hulk has been having a fun run, and writer Jessica Gao really tries her best to set a different tone for the lawyer/superhero show. I mean, it’s not Better Call Saul, but I would love to get into the nitty gritty details and legal complications of the MCU continuity that the Avengers movies just gloss over.

I can’t wait to see who else pops up in this series.

Titania Spotted IRL Vandalizing Some She-Hulk Ads https://www.geekfeed.com/titania-spotted-irl-vandalizing-some-she-hulk-ads/ Mon, 29 Aug 2022 16:42:48 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70741 The first episode of She-Hulk had Jameela Jamil’s Titania clashing with Jen Walters, and though she may not be a main adversary, it seems that she’s going to be a recurring nuisance in the show.

What’s fun is, in some guerrilla marketing move, Titania has been spotted in public vandalizing an ad for She-Hulk. Check this out:

We don’t really know what Titania’s beef is with She-Hulk, but showrunner Jessica Gao does say that the character is going to be frequently finding ways to try and get to Jen. Talking to Collider, Gao explains:

We’ll start to see Titania a lot more. But with the first few episodes, we just wanted to seed her in there because in the comics she was this gnat that was always buzzing around She-Hulk. It was never like, “Oh, Titania’s gonna destroy the city.” It was always, “Titania has come up with yet another way to come after Jen.” That’s really what we’ve tried to preserve in the show.

think the character concept is fantastic, and somehow someone has turned herself into She-Hulk’s archnemesis even if Jen didn’t want to be a superhero in the first place. It’s going to be fun to watch Jamil causing havoc for She-Hulk in the show, and I wouldn’t mind if she found herself in some other series either.

With Gao having worked on Rick and Morty, we can see that She-Hulk does have that comedic tone that wasn’t present in former Marvel/Disney+ properties. I really hope they lean in on the lawyer-meets-superhero show concept because the franchise really needed something genuinely different.

Tatiana Maslany Liked She-Hulk Because the Character was ‘Unheroic’ https://www.geekfeed.com/tatiana-maslany-liked-she-hulk-for-being-unheroic/ Thu, 18 Aug 2022 03:07:02 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70586 Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight were pretty traditional when it came to their definition of a superhero, but we’re being promised something different for the upcoming She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series.

Though Jennifer Walters isn’t considered your typical superhuman, this was exactly what attracted lead Tatiana Maslany to the role. Talking to The Guardian, she explains, What drew me to the role is how human and how unheroic she is, and how little interest she has in pursuing all that.”

I guess what the struggle of Jen with her newfound powers is made obvious in the previews, and we even get some pep-talk from the Hulk about Jen being a hero ‘whether she likes it or not.’ I guess this is a chance for Marvel to really challenge their notion of a hero, because even if Iron Man and Captain America can jump around and cause explosions, there is always a group of unsung characters that have to do all the paperwork.

If anything, the series could have something to say about tokenism and feminism in general. When Jen is transformed, she suddenly becomes this mascot for superhumans in the MCU. Maslany explains,She suddenly has this value in terms of optics. She becomes tokenized for her superhero-ness … But I do think there’s been this paradigm shift. It takes time and it’s about finding new ways to tell stories. What made me go: ‘Oh OK, this feels fresh and surprising,’ is that it feels deeply – if I can use a binary term – feminine. There’s a girliness to it. That word is often used as a derisive term, but to me there’s a celebration of female friendship in She-Hulk that’s really fun.”

Hopefully She-Hulk doesn’t disappoint when the series premieres Aug. 17 on Disney+.

Tim Roth Joked around with Mark Ruffalo on the Set of She-Hulk https://www.geekfeed.com/tim-roth-with-mark-ruffalo-on-she-hulk-set/ Mon, 08 Aug 2022 17:16:03 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70447 We know that Hulk clashed with Abomination in The Incredible Hulk back in 2008, but we weren’t so sure they could be meeting again for the upcoming She-Hulk series. As it turns out, Tim Roth, who plays Emil Blonsky, has confirmed that he has shared the set with Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo—so it’s possible they could be sharing a scene.

Talking to Forbes, Roth talked about how he joked with Ruffalo (possibly referencing him replacing Edward Norton as the Hulk). Roth says:

“Yeah, I was like, ‘You’ve changed.’ (Laughs) It’s kind of fun. We used to hang around and muck about between takes, and we had a nice time. I very much respect Mark as an actor, so even under those bizarre and wonderful circumstances, that one was a treasure.”

If anything, there really isn’t any personal beef between Hulk and Abomination. I guess Blonsky was just really into fighting strong things, and he purposefully put himself in front of the Hulk. Though I expect Blonsky to have some kind of reaction to Bruce, I don’t expect Bruce to really act out when Blonsky is put in front of him; though I wouldn’t be opposed to a Hulk/Abomination rematch.

There are a lot of concerns over She-Hulk from CG to having a superhero/lawyer show, but I’m willing to walk into the series with optimism. Tatiana Maslany has been getting a lot of praise, and the She-Hulk character has been nothing but stunning in the previews.

She-Hulk Clip has Jen Undergoing Hulk Bootcamp https://www.geekfeed.com/she-hulk-clip-has-jen-undergoing-hulk-bootcamp/ Wed, 03 Aug 2022 11:47:29 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70378 She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premieres later this month, and Disney+ is gearing up for the release of the superhero/lawyer series. Just in, we have a new clip from the series that has Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters undergoing ‘Hulk Bootcamp’ from her cousin Bruce Banner.

Check out the clip here:

The clip is kind of a montage of Bruce helping Jennifer train, and we see that Jen is actually excelling pretty well—much to the irritation of the Hulk. Though Bruce pretty much has everything under control during Endgame, it’s kind of fun to see that there’s still a petty, playful side to him.

Though there has been a lot of criticism when it came to the quality of VFX for the series, I think both Hulks actually look fantastic. Bruce has been looking great since Endgame, but I think they did a really great job with She-Hulk. Then again, they could look good in clips but it could be a very different story once we look at the series as a whole.

With Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight getting pretty serious at times, I’m excited for something else when it comes to the MCU. While there is still a possibility that the show could fall into a familiar formula, I’m hoping that writer Jessica Gao managed to give this show its own unique voice when it comes to the MCU. Hopefully we get to see Jen cameo in some other properties in the future.

Fleabag was One of the Inspirations For She-Hulk https://www.geekfeed.com/fleabag-was-one-of-the-inspirations-for-she-hulk/ Wed, 27 Jul 2022 05:39:10 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70264 Deadpool may be the king of fourth wall breaking, but Jennifer Walters managed to do the same in the latest trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. What’s interesting is, the series is actually drawing inspiration from another hit show starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Talking to Total Film (via Games Radar), head writer Jessica Gao reveals that Fleabag was a big inspiration for the series. Star Tatiana Maslany also added, “The irreverence of [Fleabag] and the sense of humor… there’s a lot there that I can definitely see that they drew from as inspiration.”

Though Marvel properties are usually filled with ‘end-of-the-world’ stakes, Gao talks about how She-Hulk as a series will focus on the more day-to-day aspects of the characters in the MCU. Gao explains:

“Because the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe has already done a fantastic job of huge action, enormous stakes… It’s always the fate of the universe, the fate of the free world. But that can’t be every single day. What happens in between those movies when these characters just have to live their lives, when they have to go on dates, when they have to go grocery shopping, when they have to see their family at a reunion?”

I’m already loving the angle, and after the usual stakes with properties like Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel, I’m eager to watch a character like Jen just working hard and trying to make sense of this world full of superhumans.

She-Hulk will Allegedly Feature Jason Segel as Fantastic Four’s The Thing https://www.geekfeed.com/she-hulk-will-allegedly-feature-jason-segel/ Sun, 24 Jul 2022 02:19:26 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70188 After John Krasinski’s surprise cameo as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange 2, it seems like another sitcom star may be joining the MCU as a member of the Fantastic Four.

According to a rumor from The DisInsider (via OneTakeNews) How I Met Your Mother star Jason Segel has allegedly been cast as the MCU’s Ben Grimm a.k.a. The Thing. We don’t have that much details on the character, but it is rumoured that he’ll be making an appearance in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Though there hasn’t been anything officially confirmed, a lot of fans think Segel is the perfect choice for the part. Besides his stature, Segel can perfectly play both confrontational and loveable—which is probably a characteristic we can expect from the ‘Ever-Lovin’ Blue-Eyed Thing.’ Plus, Segel has had a confrontation with the Hulk onscreen before:

While we should expect the Thing to be brought to life with CG, I would love it if Marvel went the Michael Chiklis route and gave him a prosthetic suit. But seeing as I don’t expect Segel to want to deal with the hassle, I think he would be completely fine just providing the voice and having someone else do the mo-cap. Who knows, maybe the Ben Grimm we meet in She-Hulk could be a pre-cosmic rays exposure version of the character?

After a great introduction of Ms. Marvel, I’m hoping for She-Hulk to bring someone different to the superhero genre. After Better Call Saul, we need some kind of new lawyer drama/comedy on TV.

She-Hulk Director Addresses CGI Backlash https://www.geekfeed.com/she-hulk-director-addresses-cgi-backlash/ Mon, 18 Jul 2022 02:16:28 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70065 When the She-Hulk trailer first dropped, a lot of fans came online to complain about the sub-par CG that was being used for the show. With some thinking that the series was dead before it even got to air, director Kat Coiro talks about why she thinks there is backlash on Jennifer Walters’ look.

Talking to SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar), Coiro thinks that it could have something to do with how different She-Hulk looks compared to the Hulk or Thanos. Coiro explains:

“I think a lot of the reactions have to do with the fact that she is so different than anything we’ve seen… When you think of Thanos or Hulk, they have a grisliness and a harshness and a bulkiness to them that is just so different. And when you just see a little pop of her, it’s almost shocking because we haven’t seen it before.”

When it comes to these CG-heavy shows, I always like to keep an open mind when it comes to the visuals, especially since we know that sometimes unfinished shots can make it to the trailer. I mean, Sonic the Hedgehog had an entirely changed the model in the final movie compared to the first trailer. I’m sure that She-Hulk will look fine when we see her in the series premiere.

If anything, Coiro assures the audience that a lot of care has been taken when it comes to She-Hulk’s CG look. Coiro says that she’s worked closely with the president of VFX and Animation at Marvel Studios Victoria Alonso. Coiro says, “She has such an incredible eye, and to me a lot of that eye comes from this very emotional gut reaction that she has, which is backed by decades of technical expertise… What I think is so cool is she keeps this real emotional reaction to the VFX. Watching her work has taught me so much about why something works and why it doesn’t; why does it go into uncanny valley? And it always comes back to the actor’s performance and capturing that.”

If anything, even the VFX guys at Corridor Crew don’t think that She-Hulk looks that bad. I guess it’s pretty easy to hate on something when there’s a bunch of fans that are going against the ‘woke agenda’ that She-Hulk is allegedly pushing.

She-Hulk comes to Disney+ on Aug. 17.

Tatiana Maslany Stars as a Super Lawyer in First Trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law https://www.geekfeed.com/tatiana-maslany-stars-as-a-super-lawyer-in-first-trailer-for-she-hulk-attorney-at-law/ Thu, 19 May 2022 09:35:32 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=65272 Moon Knight may have been a more serious property for Marvel Studios, but it looks like they’ll be embracing a more comedic tone with another upcoming Disney+ show, She-Hulk. Just in, we have our first trailer and it features Tatiana Maslany as the super-powered lawyer who deals with cases involving super-humans.

Watch the trailer for She-Hulk down here:

The synopsis reads:

“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.

As promised, Mark Ruffalo will be appearing in this series as Hulk, but though we got a look at human Bruce Banner in Shang-Chi, it looks like we’re back to ‘Professor Hulk’ for this show.

Another big return is that of Tim Roth who played the Abomination in The Incredible Hulk, back when Ed Norton was still Bruce Banner. We don’t really know how he factors into the story, but it would be interesting to see just how he feels about the Hulk after all these years. Who knows, maybe we can even get a return from Liv Tyler as Betty Ross.

We may not be able to get a solo Hulk movie thanks to some rights issues with Paramount Pictures, but at least we can have him appearing in all other kinds of properties. Maybe Hulk can take the stage one day, but as of now, I’m fine just seeing him be alive in the MCU and interacting with everyone else.
