With more characters expected to appear in the build-up to the events in Rogue One, showrunner Tony Gilroy has confirmed that one Legacy has been recast for the second season. Talking to THR, Gilroy confirms:
“Legacy characters are really tricky to bring back. They’re very, very expensive. A lot of times, their schedules don’t work out… There’s probably a couple people that we wanted to have in Yavin at the end, who are in the beginning of Rogue, but we just couldn’t get them because they were busy.”
Immediately the only character that fans instantly thought about was Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits) who is the biggest legacy character in Rogue One, having appeared in the Prequels as well. Smits had even reprised the role for the Kenobi show, but it’s possible he was busy since he was shooting for the upcoming Dexter revival.
If it’s not Smits, it’s possible that Gilroy could be talking about General Drevan (Alistair Petrie) or General Merrick (Ben Daniels). Maybe it could even be General Dodonna who was a character that appeared in the very first Star Wars and was played by Game of Thrones’ Ian McElhinney in Rogue One.
Hopefully fans won’t throw much of a fit about the recast, but this is Star Wars we’re talking about, so it’s probably happening.

]]>What’s interesting is, a new clip from the series implies that there will be a sex scene between Imperials Dedra Merro (Denise Gough) and Syril Karn (Kyle Soller). Check this out:
DEDRA AND SYRIL SCENE WITH IMPLIED SEX, IM GOING TO RUN THROUGH A WALL pic.twitter.com/6ZMTmm6HDm

Dedra's Ceo (@stolenstarpath) April 14, 2025
To recap, Syril is an Imperial loyalist who lost his security job, but he managed to show fierce dedication to the Empire and even saved Dedra by the end of the show, despite Dedra initially avoiding his advances.
We don’t know exactly what led to this moment in the series, but it’s possible that Dedra is finding anyone loyal to her, and Syril pretty much fits the bill. It’s even possible that this couldn’t be a sex scene, but rather Dedra assigning him with a secret mission. In the meantime, fans are having their fun:

Admittedly, I am on the team that wants to see the two hook-up, seeing that they only really have each other; plus villains in Star Wars can be romantic too right?
The next season of Andor is expected to be the last, with the season tying up all the threads to point to the events of Rogue One. It’s sad to see the series go, but I am hopeful that Lucasfilm keeps releasing more shows in the same vein down the line. Heck, give the Rey movie this kind of maturity of you can.
Watch out for Andor Season 2 when it premieres on Disney+ on April 22.
]]>With the second season incoming, we know that Krennic is going to make an appearance, but what about the lead of Rogue One herself Jyn Erso? Talking to EW, showrunner Tony Gilroy was asked if Jyn could make an appearance, to which he said:
“I’m not gonna answer that question fully. We’re not really teasers in our show, are we? We don’t really tease very much. Everything that we’re gonna bring in to get to Rogue is going to be organic. There’s nothing we’re bringing in for fun. Or just because somebody wants to see it. It has to be germane to the story.”
With Jyn meeting Cassian for the first time in Rogue One, it’s very likely they don’t run into each other in Season 2, but they could probably do a workaround where it’s Cassian who provides the intel of Jyn’s existence when they discover that Galen Erso is the architect behind the Death Star.
You know what, add Mads Mikkelsen to that Season 2 cameo wishlist as well.
With shows like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka being glorified cameo-fests, some fans welcome Andor’s story-first approach; that being said, it wouldn’t hurt to have a few familiar faces here and there. It’s just important not to rely too heavily on them.
It’s not clear what Star Wars has planned for the rest of the year, but for now, a lot of fans are eager for the return of one of the more mature Star Wars properties to come out of Disney+.
Andor Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on April 22.
]]>Check this trailer for The Last of Us out:
While the series does confirm that the season is going to follow Ellie as she rampages through Seattle, the trailer also confirms a flashback moment shortly after the events of the first season where Joel and Ellie visit an aerospace museum—a treat for Ellie since she’s so interested in space.
There’s also a look at Joe Pantoliano in character as Eugene. Though Eugene was only mentioned in the second game and dead by the time the story starts; it’s said that they would be expanding his story for the series—not unlike what they did with Bill and Frank in Season 1.
Speaking of expansions, it does look like there’s going to be some added action scenes for the second season. We know that Joel ends up fighting a horde with Abby when the two meet, but the trailer showcases a whole siege on Jackson by a horde of infected. This wasn’t in the game, but it feels like the series expanding the world and showing audiences what measures they have in store just in case a whole bunch of infected come up their door.
Watch out for The Last of Us Season 2 when it premieres on April 13.
]]>According to Variety, Joe Pantoliano (The Matrix) has joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 2 and will be playing the part of Eugene.
Some players may be wondering who Eugene was in the game, but he was mostly a character that was mentioned and has been dead by the time TLOU Part II takes place. In the game, Ellie and Dina stumble into Eugene’s lab where he used to grow pot, and the place is littered with all kinds of mementos from the character—including his Firefly pendant.
For the series, Eugene’s role is said to be expanded. We don’t know how much of Eugene will be in the series, but game director Neil Druckmann—who is also involved with the making of the series—did say, “I get excited when I see these opportunities… I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t know Eugene that well!’ The story we told [in the game] was somewhat superficial.”
One character that was only superficial in the game who ended up getting a solid arc was Frank, Bill’s lover. In the game, Joel, Ellie, and Bill run into Frank having killed himself; and in the series, Frank gets a whole episode to tell his and Bill’s story, and to even the gamers’ surprise, they end up dying in each other’s arms.
I’m not expecting the same kind of thing to happen to Eugene, but seeing as he’s touted as a legend for dying at 73 due to natural causes in a world filled with cordyceps, maybe there’s an interesting story to milk out of that kind of character.
The Last of Us Season 2 is set to come out on Max this April.
]]>Check this out:
Beside Cassian and other returning characters like Luthen, Mon Mothma, and Saw Gerrera, the second season also features other Rogue One faces like Alan Tudyk, who plays the part of Cassian’s droid partner K-2SO. On the Imperial side of things, Ben Mendelsohn is also back in the role of Death Star architect Director Krennic. It’s not clear what his role is going to be, but seeing as the first season ended with the tease of the Death Star, it’s possible he could be showing up to tout the near completion of his passion project.
It’s worth noting that this series is said to take place four years before the events of Rogue One, so there could be a lot of Easter Eggs pointing to the eventual recruitment of Jyn Erso as well as Cassian’s arrival in Wobani (where he straight-up kills an informant).
Unlike other Star Wars series, Andor is going to be releasing multiple episodes at a time, completing specific arcs of the season. While some are complaining about the format, I think that Andor does great in that it tells a complete story every drop as compared to keeping audiences in their toes every week (with episodes that vary in runtime).
Catch the second season of Andor when it premieres on Disney+ on April 22.

Just for context, the song is The Revolution Starts Now from Steve Earle.
Admittedly, this is a new direction for Lucasfilm marketing, seeing that all the previews that has come before it ever since The Force Awakens had just been using original music from the films.
We don’t know why there’s a sudden change, but it does seem that Lucasfilm wants to market the series to be more ‘fun’ for anyone who didn’t check out the first season of Andor. Despite the critical acclaim, a lot of the far-right Star Wars Youtubers had dubbed the show ‘boring’, and it looks like the use of a rock/country song for the trailer is Lucasfilm trying to beat the allegations.
As someone who actually enjoyed the first season, it’s definitely an odd move, but I am excited for the show to come back. Unlike series like The Mandalorian, it seemed that showrunner Tony Gilroy was not so focused on having a new wave of incoming action figures; but rather he wanted to write an honest-to-goodness rebellion story.
Having the trailer with upbeat music does kind of feel like it messes with the tone of the show, but if it can get more people to watch, then I’m not complaining.

]]>Talking to Entertainment Weekly, series creator Neil Druckmann confirms that they didn’t require Dever to bulk up too much for the series as Abby’s physicality was said to be more of a game design aspect. Druckmann explains:
“We need someone to really capture the essence of those characters…. We don’t value as much, ‘Do they look exactly like the character with their eyebrows or their nose or their body?’ Whatever it is. It’s not nowhere on the priority list, but it’s below a bunch of other things that we consider.”
In the game, Abby is obviously more built than Ellie, and this is because she’s designed to function more like Joel in the first game. Druckmann continues:
“We would’ve struggled to find someone as good as Kaitlyn to play this role… In the game, you have to play both characters [Ellie and Abby] and we need them to play differently. We needed Ellie to feel smaller and kind of maneuver around, and Abby was meant to play more like Joel in that she’s almost like a brute in the way she can physically manhandle certain things. That doesn’t play as big of a role in this version of the story because there’s not as much violent action moment to moment. It’s more about the drama. I’m not saying there’s no action here. It’s just, again, different priorities and how you approach it.”
If anything, the series does have a tendency to change some things from time to time, but it’s mostly been faithful to the main dramatic themes of the source material. Though Dever may not look Abby’s part from the game, she does pose an interesting meta-foil to Bella Ramsey’s Ellie in that Dever was the original fancast to play her before The Last of Us series even happened. No doubt fans are going to be making that subconscious comparison, which is necessary to pull off Ellie and Abby’s narrative connection.
Watch out for The Last of Us Season 2 when it premieres on Max this April.
]]>Check this out:
Anyone who’s played the second game can immediately tell some of the expected setpieces that will be coming to the second season of the show. After settling in Jackson, Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Joel (Pedro Pascal) are met with a new antagonist in the form of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever). Essentially Ellie will spend the whole story looking for Abby in Seattle, and she goes to terribly dark places emotionally to get what she needs.
While most of Abby’s backstory is a mystery for the first half of the game, it does look like the series is going to push some of it forward for the show. Though Abby has her own arc with the Seraphites in the game, it does seem like they’re going to be holding back on that for the third season—that’s why none of the main Seraphite characters have been cast yet.
That being said, it does seem like the ‘Scars’ are going to have their backstory explored in the series. They’re mostly a mystery in the game, but they do have a beef with the WLF leader Isaac (Jeffrey Wright) who is the leader of Abby’s post-apocalypse faction.
So far the series is looking great, and everyone whose played the game knows that TV-only audiences are in for an emotional rollercoaster.
The Last of Us returns to HBO this April.
]]>With creator Hwang Dong-hyuk coming back for the series, he does have something to say about his highly anticipated show: “I’m so sick of ‘Squid Game’”
Talking to Variety about his next series, Hwang says, “I’m so exhausted. I’m so tired. In a way, I have to say, I’m so sick of ‘Squid Game,’… I’m so sick of my life making something, promoting something. So I’m not thinking about my next project right now. I’m just thinking about going to some remote island and having my own free time without any phone calls from Netflix—Not the ‘Squid Game’ island.”
Though the first season of the series did end with a cliffhanger, it has been confirmed that the second and third season of Squid Game had been shot back-to-back; this was done so that the third season would be ready to come out next year.
We don’t know exactly what to expect with the second season, but at least now fans know that the showrunners already have an ending in mind—so maybe any twists that would come their way would feel organic.
Despite the success of the first season, a lot of fans did think that the reveal of Oh Il-nam as the secret antagonist kind of just comes out of nowhere; and it also destroys any context of his relationship with Gi-hun during the games.
With Hwang not being shy about the pressure he’s received after the series’ success, I’m just hoping he manages to pull this off with no more hitches.
Watch out for Squid Game Season 2 when it releases on Netflix on Dec. 26.
]]>Squid Game Season 2 is now ready to hit Netflix later this December, and we have a whole new trailer giving us an idea of what to expect. Watch this:
Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.
Compared to the first game where Gi-hun is just as clueless as the rest of the participants, it looks like he’s going to be navigating the game differently this time, actually convincing others to not play the game as it was intended.
Of course, there are some characters that look to be disruptors to Gi-hun’s plan, but you can’t expect any excitement to come from the story if everyone just plays along.
The first season of the show was such a surprise hit that even director Hwang Dong-hyuk had been vocal about not expecting the audience reaction as well. Though it’s great that Squid Game was a hit, the pressure is now on for Hwang to deliver another fantastic season of adults doing playground games to save their own lives.
Hopefully, he’ll manage to stick the landing.
Watch out for Squid Game 2 when it comes to Netflix on Dec. 26.
]]>The story is set to close with Act 3 this weekend, and we have a sneak peek for the big closer of the series. Check this out:
The Act 2 finale ended with a huge cliffhanger, but it does look like a lot of things are going to be picked up immediately. For one, even thought Jayce seemingly killed Viktor, it looks like he’s still figuring out how the ‘Machine Herald’ fit into all this arcane chaos. It also looks like Vi is once again trying to convince Jinx to come to her side; and fans expect Jinx to be at a new low especially since she lost her only family left, Isha.
The second act was completely devoid of Heimerdinger and Ekko, so fans are expecting them to reappear immediately with the start of Act 3. Some fans are even convinced that after Ekko’s experience with the arcane, it’s possible that he comes back with time-travelling powers, and he could use them to stop the murder of Viktor and hopefully the death of Isha.
Though it’s sad to think an amazing show is ending, Riot is looking to tell more stories in Runeterra outside of the conflict between Piltover and Zaun. They can move forward and back with the timeline, but for now it looks like they’re closing the book with this era of characters.
Act 3 of Arcane Season 2 comes out on Netflix Nov. 23.
]]>Talking to IGN, Gunn confirms, “The truth is almost all of Peacemaker is canon with the exception of Justice League… which we will kind of deal with in the next season of Peacemaker.” We don’tknow how specifically Gunn is going to deal with that, but I do have a feeling that maybe it’s just going to involve a throw-away gag where someone misremembers the Justice League arriving, and someone brushes it off like the Mandela Effect.
For now, the official canon of the DCU is set to begin with the animated Creature Commandos. While events from The Suicide Squad are still up in the air when it comes to the timeline, Gunn confirms, “…in Creature Commandos, you’ll hear them talk about things that happened in [The] Suicide Squad or Peacemaker… Well then, those things automatically become canon.”
Nobody knows how Gunn is going to approach this new timeline, but I’m starting to get the feeling that he’s just going to loosely pick and choose what he wants to keep from the DCEU and just never mention anything that he doesn’t want to keep.
This should be annoying for anyone who cares about consistency in the entire timeline, but at this point, fans are essentially just worrying about nothing. Until something officially comes out, all fans can really do is speculate.
The second season of Peacemaker is expected to premiere sometime next year.
]]>Check this out:
Here’s the official description for the second season:
Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.
We never really knew how Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) planned to take down the games after he won, but it does look like he’s just going to join as a regular participant and try to convince everyone to stop playing the games by confirming that he’s a previous winner.
Admittedly, it doesn’t seem like the smartest plan on Gi-hun’s part, but maybe there’s some kind of mind game that he’s playing with the game masters; and him looking desperate was just part of his plan.
I’ll have to say I was one of the more sceptical people when a second season was announced, but it does seem that director Hwang Dong-hyuk had something planned for a follow-up. Let’s just hope that the series manages to captivate audiences just as much as the first one did.
Watch out for Squid Game 2 when it comes to Netflix on Dec. 26.
]]>The first season had released back in 2022, and now Adam Scott’s Mark is back for the second season—and things still look as trapped as ever. Check out the first teaser:
Here’s the official description for the series:
In Severance, Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.
In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.
Besides Scott, the second season promises to bring back everyone from the first including Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, and Patricia Arquette. Even John Turturro and Christopher Walken are expected to come back.
We don’t know exactly where we are in the story when the season starts, but it does look like it will take place after Mark and his co-workers have managed to switch consciousnesses with their ‘Outies’. We don’t know how long they were able to pull that off or what they were able to accomplish by pulling it off, but it’s possible that Lumon will want Mark to be separated from his co-conspirators and assigned a new team.
I’ll admit, the concept of the series is pretty great, but the show kind of ends with multiple loose threads that don’t feel like a satisfying end. Hopefully Stiller and the rest of the writing crew fix that problem with the second season because fans are already wise to the use of cliffhangers for cheap thrills. I’m just hoping for more MDEs.
Severance Season 2 premieres on Apple TV+ on Jan. 17, 2025.
]]>The show is set to premiere this November and be split into three parts, and we have a new trailer featuring clips from the upcoming series as well as the first season. Check this out:
With the first season ramping up to a war between the citizens of Piltover and Zaun, it looks like everything is going to go to shit with the second season; with Vi joining Caitlyn fighting for Piltover, and Jinx becoming the unwitting leader of the undercity (kind of like Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker).
Of course, there is also the case of Ekko and his band of rebels, but it’s not clear who his fight is going to be with. We know that he doesn’t really care for Jinx or the gangs of Zaun, but there’s also the case of Ambessa who looks to be out for blood for the death of Mel, and she’s going to be bringing along her armies from Noxus (i.e., this world’s version of Sparta).
Though it is sad to think that Season 2 will be the end of Arcane, Riot has said that more shows are being developed based on the world of League of Legends. So this series will just close the arc for these specific characters. We should expect the lore to be expanded when the first Arcane spinoff comes around. Fingers crossed it will have the same story and animation quality.
Catch the second season of Arcane when Part I hits Netflix on Nov. 9.
]]>Now Peacemaker is set to get a second season, and Gunn has shared a first look at someone who could be Cena, but we can’t be entirely sure. Check this out:
Who might this be? #Peacemaker pic.twitter.com/ShhebKi5DW
— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) October 9, 2024
The physique could very much be Cena, but he looks to be dressed in some kind of Native American garb—not unlike Captain America/Rojhaz in Neil Gaiman’s Marvel 1602. In that story, Steve Rogers travels back in time and poses as a Native American bodyguard; it’s only deep into the story before he admits that he was once Captain America from the future.
We don’t know what kind of journey Peacemaker/Chris Smith is going to go through with the second season, but seeing as he’s described as a ‘f*cked up’ Captain America, it wouldn’t be surprising that an out-of-touch character like him would put on some Native American garb and try to go on some kind of spirit quest.
With Gunn busy working on Superman, it’s kind of a wonder he was able to squeeze in time for Peacemaker. Either way, I imagine that the Man of Steel movie, while huge, is still an extremely limiting project for Gunn, and it’s properties like Peacemaker that allow him to be in his element of 80s glam rock, irreverent humor, and nasty body horror.
No release date has been set for Peacemaker Season 2.
]]>Though the forging of the One isn’t hinted at in the series yet, showrunner Patrick McKay talks a bit about Sauron’s current state in the show and his reliance on Celebrimbor. He tells IGN, “I think we can only reflect on what the show has shown us so far, which is that Sauron needs Celebrimbor. So how does Sauron then forge a ring on his own? That’s a big question worthy of lots of dramatic exploration.”
Some fans are speculating that this means that Sauron will have to make a huge sacrifice to create the One Ring. After all, it was said that he had poured his entirety into the One Ring, and that’s why it was so powerful.
Just seeing how the forging of the Rings is also affecting Celebrimbor, it does look like he will completely lose himself once the Nine Rings for Men have been completed. While everyone who has read the books is already sure as to what Celebrimbor’s fate is going to be by the end of the season, McKay does hint that he could have some kind of win over Sauron in the end, with him saying, “How is [Celebrimbor] going to get out of this and find some kind of victory even in defeat… For us, it’s showing the off-ramps and the things that could have gone a different way and then taking it away… If only this had happened, then that could happen, and this could happen, that could happen. And playing with those what-ifs can drive a person crazy.”
So far, it looks like the Lord of Eregion is still under the grasp of Sauron. With two episodes left, hopefully Celebrimbor gets a satisfying arc, despite what fans know about his fate.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
]]>Check this out:
The clip essentially catches audiences up on where Vi has been ever since the events of the first season finale. Though she’s expected to have kept connected with Caitlyn, it does look like she’s laying low, taking on underground fights for money and drinking herself to that.
Besides that, she’s getting flashbacks of all the people who she’s running away from. Besides Caitlyn, she’s also getting flashes of Jinx showing up. After all, it was just a tragic turn of events that led to Vi being the one responsible for Powder becoming Jinx.
I’ll admit, the music can get a bit too edgy for my taste, but it’s exactly on-brand when it comes to a series like Arcane. The point is just really pushed when Vi goes full goth with the black hair and eye make-up.
So far, the series still looks amazing, and though it’s a shame that it’s going to be the final season, it has been confirmed that Riot plans to continue exploring the world with different characters in other spinoff shows. Let’s just hope the quality remains the same.
Act 1 of Arcane Season 2 drops on Nov. 9, Act 2 comes out Nov. 16, and the final act releases Nov. 23 all on Netflix.
]]>Now the award-winning series is set to come back for its second and final season, and it teases an all-out war between Piltover and Zaun. Check this out:
Though the two main factions of the series have always been Piltover and Zaun, it does look like Noxus, the region from which Mel’s mother Ambessa comes from, is going to be joining the fray.
In the first season, Ambessa had been urging Mel to start the war with the undercity, to which Mel refused. Though she and the council of Piltover was about to give independence to Zaun, they were suddenly attacked by Jinx in the finale, prompting the inevitable war that will be taking place in Season 2.
Admittedly, there are some fans that are disappointed that the final season of Arcane will end here, but it has been hinted that this series is only going to end the arc that will include Jinx and Vi at the heart of the conflict. With the massive lore that’s been established for League of Legends, plus the wealth of characters, we should expect another LoL-based show down the line which will follow a new set of characters from the roster.
I’m just hoping they keep to the same art-style to keep the series just a little uniform.
Arcane Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix this coming November.
