Now they’re set to release The Bad Guys 2 next year, and we have the first trailer for the movie featuring a new animal group of femme fatales. Check this out:
Here’s the synopsis for the sequel:
In the new action-packed chapter from DreamWorks Animation’s acclaimed comedy smash about a crackerjack crew of animal outlaws, our now-reformed Bad Guys are trying (very, very hard) to be good, but instead find themselves hijacked into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist, masterminded by a new team of criminals they never saw coming: The Bad Girls.
Original cast members from the first movie Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Awkwafina, and Anthony Ramos are set to reprise their roles as the Bad Guys; and the crew of Bad Girls is voiced by Danielle Brooks Maria Bakalova, and Natasha Lyonne.
The movie is even bringing back Zazie Beetz for Governor Foxington and Alex Borstein for Misty Luggins.
Besides Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon, DreamWorks has been working hard to find a new IP that can manage to stick, and The Bad Guys somehow worked pretty great. The animation is solid, and the movie had a lot of heart. Let’s just hope the sequel manages to deliver as well.
Catch The Bad Guys 2 when it comes to cinemas on Aug. 1, 2025.
]]>According to insider Daniel Richtman (via ComicBookMovie), Rockwell is currently in talks to reprise Justin Hammer for the upcoming series-turned-movie Armor Wars. There aren’t any details besides Rockwell being in talks, but his return does make a lot of sense, seeing that Hammer was trying his best to create Iron Man armor alternatives—plus he was the person who modded the first War Machine suit for Rhodey.
Marvel’s What If…? fans also know that Rockwell just recently reprised the role of Justin Hammer this year; playing a variant of Hammer that takes over Avengers tower during Christmastime. It was just a voice role, but the writers still had fun with the character, what with his theatrical flair, dancing and making quips.
If anything, we should take the news of Rockwell’s return with a grain of salt, but with Marvel currently looking back at their more unique villains, Justin Hammer was definitely one of the more memorable ones. Let’s just hope that the appearance on What If leads to more things down the line. Would it be so hard to have Hammer be the Q of the Thunderbolts team?
Armor Wars is allegedly eyeing a release sometime in 2026 but has no official release date.

The official description for the film reads:
Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past.
Accompanied by Aiden (Oscar® winner Sam Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy, Elly (carrying Alfie in her backpack) races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Elly’s fictional world and her real one begins to blur.
As you can see, the trailer is filled with all kinds of stars, like Cavill, Howard, Rockwell, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Bryan Cranston, and Ariana DeBose. The film even managed to bring back other Kingsman stars including Samuel L. Jackson and Sofia Boutella.
With the Kingsman films already a kind of parody of the Bond franchise, it’s going to be interesting to see just how Argylle sets itself apart.
Watch out for Argylle when it comes to theaters on Feb. 2, 2024.
]]>According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount+ is now developing a series for Galaxy Quest with producer Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad), who was also attached to the original film.
If you haven’t checked out Galaxy Quest yet, the film was essentially a love letter to Star Trek, and it found the cast of a cult sci-fi series (called Galaxy Quest) suddenly thrust into a real sci-fi adventure with aliens and spaceships. The film starred Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Tony Shalhoub, Sam Rockwell, and the late Alan Rickman. Here’s the trailer:
A reboot was said to have been planned way back in 2015 including the original cast, but it never got past development; it also didn’t help that Alan Rickman had passed away.
We don’t know what direction the next Galaxy Quest could go, but seeing that sci-fi franchises like Star Wars have opted for the ‘reboot/sequel’ route, I can imagine the Galaxy Quest series possibly adapting the same kind of story. Maybe they reboot the show in canon, and the cast of the original suddenly find themselves on a space adventure?
I’m hoping they come up with something surprising and unexpected, since that pitch was just something off the top of my head. Either way, I’d love for them to tackle the culture of fandom today, especially with the nature of internet fandoms and gatekeepers.
No release date has been revealed for Galaxy Quest on Paramount+.
]]>Have a first look at See How They Run starring Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan:
Here’s the official synopsis:
In the West End of 1950s London, plans for a movie version of a smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after the film’s Hollywood director is murdered. When world-weary Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) and eager rookie Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) take on the case, the two find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunit within the glamorously sordid theatre underground, investigating the mysterious homicide at their own peril.
The film actually has a fantastic cast that also includes Ruth Wilson, Adrien Brody, David Oyelowo, and Harris Dickinson.
At the helm of the movie is also Tom George, and this looks to be his first feature film. Though he’s had a lot of experience when it comes to television, I am excited to see what kind of tone he has for the film. With the setting based on the theater scene and the inclusion of Brody, it does feel like a Wes Anderson film, but the comedic tone and whodunit nature of the story kind of reminds you of Rian Johnson’s past work. That being said, I’m sure George will be able to find his own original tone when it comes to this movie.
See How They Run comes to theaters on Sept. 9.

The scene has the Bad Guys trying to pull off a heist, despite publicly trying to turn a new leaf. I have to say, I was first curious as to why Anthony Ramos was cast alongside comedians, but as it turns out, his character is supposed to belt out one impressive musical number.
Not to mention, they actually have Mr. Wolf dancing in the way that actor Sam Rockwell usually does in his movies. Even in animation they found a way to have him show off some moves.
We don’t know how long The Bad Guys’ good run is going to last, but a lot of animation fans definitely think the praise is well deserved. Who knows, maybe we can get the sequel announcement soon.
After a lifetime of legendary heists, notorious criminals Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula are finally caught. To avoid a prison sentence, the animal outlaws must pull off their most challenging con yet — becoming model citizens. Under the tutelage of their mentor, Professor Marmalade, the dubious gang sets out to fool the world that they’re turning good.
Dreamworks’ The Bad Guys is now showing in theaters.

The scene essentially sets up everyone in the Wolf’s crew as well as their jobs. Snake is a safecracker, Tarantula is a hacker, Shark is a master of disguise, and Piranha is the muscle. I guess it’s safe to assume that Wolf is the one who plans all of the heists for the group.
I have to say, while Disney pretty much set the furry world ablaze with Zootopia, The Bad Guys has a very unique visual style that’s been apparent in recent films like The Mitchells vs. The Machines and Arcane—in which they blend 2D and 3D animation to make a film that looks like a moving painting.
So far, the film has been getting great reviews, and it should be a nice, kid-friendly film to bring your kids who can’t watch Unbearable Weight or Northman.
