Jordan Against Jonathan Majors https://www.geekfeed.com/michael-b-jordan-vs-jonathan-majors-in-creed-iii/ Wed, 19 Oct 2022 10:03:20 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71648 A lot of fans are excited to watch Jonathan Majors take on Ant-Man next year, but he’s going to be facing off against Killmonger in a non-MCU property first.

Just in, we have the first trailer for Creed III starring Majors and Michael B. Jordan. Watch this:

Here’s the film synopsis:

After dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has been thriving in both his career and family life. When a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian (Jonathan Majors), resurfaces after serving a long sentence in prison, he is eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face off between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to battle Damian – a fighter who has nothing to lose.

So far, the Creed movies have had someone different at the helm for every entry, and this time around, Michael B. Jordan himself has been put in the director’s chair. The story of the film though, still comes from original Creed director Ryan Coogler.

With the past Creed movies dealing with the legacy of the Rocky franchise, it’s interesting that they should give Adonis his own original villain that he has a history with personally. I have to say, Majors looks like an absolute beast in this trailer, and I can’t wait to see him go all out against Jordan onscreen. Pretty sure a lot of people are also going to use his role here to hype up his Avengers villain Kang.

Creed III comes to theaters March 3, 2023.

Amazon Acquires Bond Studio MGM for $8.25 Billion https://www.geekfeed.com/amazon-acquires-bond-studio-mgm-for-8-25-billion/ Fri, 28 May 2021 05:59:11 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59714 It looks like Amazon has just acquired a major studio, and with that comes thousands of hours’ worth  of content for the streaming service.

As per The Verge, Amazon has just struck a deal to purchase Metro Goldwyn Mayer (or MGM) for $8.45 billion. The purchase of the studio is said to earn Amazon over 4000 films and 17,000 hours of television with properties like 12 Angry Men to modern television shows like The Handmaid’s Tale and Vikings. MGM also gives Amazon rights to reality shows like Shark Tank and The Voice.

Senior VP of Prime Video Mike Hopkins, who was also said to have orchestrated the deal, had this to say about the acquisition:

“The real financial value behind this deal is the treasure trove of IP in the deep catalog that we plan to reimagine and develop together with MGM’s talented team… It’s very exciting and provides so many opportunities for high-quality storytelling.”

Several franchises under the MGM banner include the Robocop films as well as Rocky, Legally Blonde, and the Hobbit movies. Of course, the biggest franchise under MGM is the Bond movies, and with Daniel Craig set to end his run with No Time to Die, this acquisition comes in perfect timing with a reboot of the character.

With the MGM franchises kind of waning down over the past few years, hopefully the Amazon streaming service can bring some new life into the studio’s properties. Besides the Bond movies, there’s just so much more to explore down the line.

In the meantime, fans wait for the long-delayed No Time to Die which is now set to release this Oct. 8.
