Randall Park – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com Entertainment News, Celebrities and Fandoms Thu, 08 Feb 2024 15:28:32 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://www.geekfeed.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/cropped-Geekfeed-Favicon-White-32x32.png Randall Park – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com 32 32 WATCH: Ryan Reynolds and ‘John Krasinski’ Recreate the Asian Jim Gag for IF https://www.geekfeed.com/reynolds-and-krasinski-recreate-asian-jim/ Thu, 08 Feb 2024 15:28:32 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80932 Randall Park has his own esteemed career as an actor, but one of his most infamous roles is a small guest appearance in The Office where he plays ‘Asian Jim’. Here’s the gag:

Essentially Park plays an actor who pretends to be Jim (John Krasinski) and tries to gaslight Dwight that Jim’s been Asian the whole time. It’s one of the more famous gags from the office, and now they’re bringing it back to promote Krasinki’s upcoming movie IF starring Ryan Reynolds and Steve Carell. Watch this:

Admittedly, it does do more things than the original Asian Jim gag, but it’s pretty much just Park acting like he’s been Krasinski this whole time.

You have to hand it to Reynolds. For some reason, he’s always found the most creative ways to advertise his products; and it seems that his PR team knows exactly how the internet thinks and is probably banking on them recognizing the memes that they use.

Here’s the official description for IF:

From writer and director John Krasinski, IF is about a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends — and what she does with that superpower — as she embarks on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids. IF stars Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski, Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, and the voices of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr. and Steve Carell alongside many more as the wonderfully unique characters that reflect the incredible power of a child’s imagination.

Watch out for IF when it hits theaters this May

Time Travel Meets Slasher Movies in Trailer for Totally Killer Starring Kiernan Shipka https://www.geekfeed.com/trailer-for-totally-killer-starring-shipka/ Wed, 13 Sep 2023 13:40:24 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78722 Kiernan Shipka is no stranger to morbid stories thanks to her role as Sabrina Spellman in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, but now she’s teamed up with Blumhouse for a slasher flick with a special time travel twist.

Check out the trailer for Totally Killer:

The synopsis reads:

Thirty-five years after the shocking murders of three teens, an infamous killer returns on Halloween night to claim a fourth victim. When 17-year-old Jamie comes face-to-face with the masked maniac, she accidentally time-travels back to 1987. Forced to navigate the unfamiliar culture, Jamie teams up with her teenage mother to take down the psycho once and for all.

The film is directed by Nahnatchka Khan who had also helmed Netflix’s Always Be My Maybe; she was also the showrunner for Fresh Off the Boat which also starred Randall Park who is also in this movie. Other stars in the film include Olivia Holt, Julie Bowen, Charlie Gillespie, and Liana Liberato.

With Shipka being established as a horror genre icon thanks to Sabrina, it’s going to be interesting to see her be a pseudo-Marty McFly in a slasher movie. I’ll admit, I was kind of expecting her to lean into drama after Sabrina, but I guess there’s no harm in doing some more outrageous roles from time to time. Even Shipka’s TV dad, Jon Hamm takes comedic roles (and absolutely nails them).

Watch out for Totally Killer when it hits Amazon Prime Video this Halloween Season on Oct. 6.

Date Announced for Human Resources Season 2 https://www.geekfeed.com/date-announced-for-human-resources-season-2/ Thu, 04 May 2023 14:31:15 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76605 Netflix has just renewed Big Mouth for a finale season, and while we’re waiting for the book to close on Nick and friends, we’re also getting the final season of the spinoff Human Resources.

The series has just announced the release date of Season 2, and we also have a tease for upcoming guest stars. Check this out:

As confirmed by the announcement, Human Resources will be releasing its final season on June 9. Though the trailer was only able to tease guest stars Florence Pugh and Miley Cyrus, it’s also been confirmed that Eugene Levy, Sam Richardson, and Niecy Nash-Betts will also be appearing in the final season. Big Mouth’s Jason Matzoukas is also said to be appearing, but it’s not confirmed if he’s going to be reprising his role of Jay Bilzerian.

In the first season, the show actually had an impressive guest list with voices from Hugh Jackman, Ali Wong, Thandiwe Newton, and Henry Winkler. They also brought back John Mulaney to play Andrew from Big Mouth.

With BM mostly focused on the kids, Human Resources shifts the spotlight on the ‘monsters’ and the different kinds of humans they help out. The show is pretty much like Big Mouth, but the episodes don’t end up limited to just exploring the kids growing up and their issues with puberty.

It’s going to be sad to see the series go, but fingers crossed Netflix changes their mind on their cancelled shows like Inside Job which is fantastic.

Human Resources returns to Netflix on June 9.
