Poison Ivy had been a prominent figure in Rocksteady’s Arkham series, and the character was eventually killed off in Arkham Knight. With the upcoming Suicide Squad game though, it’s been revealed that Ivy has actually returned—or rather, her offspring.

In a recently released episode of Suicide Squad Insider, it’s revealed that Poison Ivy had somehow resurrected into a tween that’s being experimented on by Lex Luthor. Watch this (Ivy comes in at 8:44):

For context, this is what happened to Ivy in Arkham Knight:

Though we never really got to see Harley and Ivy’s romance play out in any of the games, it’s still implied that the characters have history in Suicide Squad. Though Ivy may not remember Harley in this continuity, her pheromones can ‘remember’ her. We don’t know how the game eventually wants to tug on that relationship, but introducing a young Ivy is definitely stirring the pot with some fans.

As far as the game goes, Poison Ivy will be essential to a new gameplay mechanic which will allow her and her plants to dish out status effects that are inspired by other DC villains unto unsuspecting enemies. On the other hand, it’s also been revealed that Penguin will be the one supplying the Squad with weapons and has been delegated to this game’s version of a crafting station.

Admittedly, Suicide Squad has been so delayed that fans are starting to lose interest in the game, but hopefully Rocksteady manages to knock it out of the park when it finally releases next year.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to launch on Feb. 2, 2024 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.

Harley Quinn’s Kite Man Gets His Own Spinoff Series in Teaser for Kite Man: Hell Yeah! https://www.geekfeed.com/harley-quinns-kite-man-gets-his-own-spinoff-series-in-teaser-for-kite-man-hell-yeah/ Fri, 22 Sep 2023 14:29:12 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78847 The animated Harley Quinn series has had a penchant for having fun with all kinds of DC characters—especially obscure ones, and Kite Man had his time to shine as Poison Ivy’s ex-fiance.

With him out of the relationship though, Max has dropped a trailer for his spinoff Kite Man: Hell Yeah! Which will also feature a lot of other DC faces including Darkseid and Harley Quinn herself. Check this out:

We don’t know much about the story yet, but we should expect some more hijinks with the character who actually had his own memorable moments in the Harley Quinn show.

Though Kite Man is technically a villain, the fact that he was able to step away and let Harley and Ivy be together has fans praising him for being a stand-up guy. Now he’s dating the Golden Glider (who we see in the trailer), the younger sister of Captain Cold.

Max may have been cancelling animated series left and right, so it’s kind of surprising that a character like Kite Man would actually get his own show. It’s unclear how the series will manage to set itself apart from Harley Quinn, but it’s possible we could have some more male-focused stories with even more obscure characters from the comics showing up.

It’s just a guess.

No official release date has been announced for Kite Man: Hell Yeah!, but you can watch out for it on Max sometime in 2024.

Katee Sackhoff Says Karen Gillan has Better Chance to Play Poison Ivy for DC https://www.geekfeed.com/sackhoff-says-gillan-better-to-play-poison-ivy/ Tue, 22 Aug 2023 09:21:56 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78322 Katee Sackhoff is sci-fi royalty with roles in Battlestar Galactica and The Mandalorian, but some fans are wanting her for the part of Pamela Isley a.k.a. Poison Ivy in James Gunn’s DCU, especially after she voiced the part in the animated Batman: The Long Halloween. As it turns out, she thinks someone else has a better chance.

Talking to Bingeworthy (via The Playlist), Sackhoff explains how she thinks Karen Gillan may have a better chance landing Ivy than her. She explains:

“No, I haven’t [talked to James Gunn]…Listen, I saw Karen Gillan wants to play her, too. And, like, she’s got a closer ‘in’ than I do, so I feel like that’s a given. I feel like I’ve got no horse in that race if Karen wants to play that character, but God, I love her. I can’t be mad at her. She’s fantastic, and I love her dearly, so I still would love to, for sure. I think that maybe I can play Poison Ivy’s mom. I can play Karen’s mom again. We can just do that again, and we can both play Poison Ivy. Like, different versions, maybe. You never know.”

No doubt, Gunn has a history of casting friends in the DCU, and there could be room for his Guardians stars like Karen Gillan; but with Sackhoff’s rep in pop-culture, casting her as Ivy could definitely be a feather in the cap of the DCU.

Personally, I think that the Ivy character has a specific type that a lot of people fancast with redhead actresses like Gillan, Emma Stone, of Jessica Chastain. If you ask me, they should really lean-in on the “Mother Nature” image and cast someone more matronly, yet still seductive, like Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks.

It’s just a thought.

A live-action Poison Ivy hasn’t been announced for the DCU, but you can watch out for Sackhoff in The Mandalorian now showing on Disney+.

A Surprise Orgy Must be Stopped in Trailer for Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special https://www.geekfeed.com/trailer-for-harley-quinn-valentines-day-special/ Thu, 26 Jan 2023 14:27:46 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73061 We don’t know if Margot Robbie is ever going to come back as Harley Quinn down the line, but Kaley Cuoco’s version seems to having her fun on HBO Max. With the Valentine’s Season incoming, we have a new trailer for Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special.

Watch this:

Here’s the official description:

As Harley goes to obsessive lengths to ensure that her first Valentine’s Day with Ivy is the best ever, Bane’s efforts to impress an unexpected date go horribly awry. Meanwhile, after an unfortunate online dating encounter, Clayface engages in some self-love.

So far, the special looks like its own self-contained story with the focus on Harley and Ivy. With Joker’s presence in the main show, you’d think that he would have something to do with a Valentine’s Day special, then again, a lot of people who write Batman consider the Joker’s real great love is the Dark Knight and not Harley.

Since this show doesn’t really take itself too seriously, we should just expect the Valentine’s Day special to just really have fun with the comic book romance ball. While it’s going to be fun seeing what the other characters would be up to on this holiday, I’m eager to see more of Harley and Ivy’s relationship evolve moving forward. Who’d have thought that sexy clowns and plant moms would go so well together?

Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special comes to HBO Max on Feb. 9.

It’s Harley v Ivy in New Trailer for Harley Quinn Season 3 https://www.geekfeed.com/harley-v-ivy-in-harley-quinn-season-3-trailer/ Sat, 16 Jul 2022 03:30:09 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70054 The Harley Quinn animated series had spent two seasons bringing Harley and Ivy together, but it looks like they’re setting the characters up for a clash in Season 3.

Watch the full trailer for the third season of Harley Quinn:

While Ivy has mostly been the laid back character in the show, the series is finally putting her front and center with the intention to have plants overtake the world. Of course, Harley can’t let this happen, and she then recruits the entire Bat-Family to help take down Ivy.

Though they did break up in the first season, Joker is still a major presence on the show, and this time, he’s trying to turn over some kind of new leaf by running for mayor of Gotham. We don’t know exactly where the series wants to put him, but fans can already spot the references to Joker with him dancing down the stairs, and Tim Burton’s Batman what with Mr. J riding the cake pulling the giant clown balloon.

The mayhem and madness continue in season three of this biting and uproarious adult animated comedy series. Wrapping up their “Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour,” Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) return to Gotham as the new power couple of DC villainy. Along with their ragtag crew – King Shark (Ron Funches), Clayface (Alan Tudyk), Frank the Plant (JB Smoove) – “Harlivy” strives to become the best version of themselves while also working towards Ivy’s long desired plan of transforming Gotham into an Eden paradise.

Harley Quinn Season 3 premieres on HBO Max this July 28.

Margot Robbie Pushing for Harley/Ivy Romance in DCEU https://www.geekfeed.com/margot-robbie-is-pushing-for-a-harley-ivy-romance-in-the-dceu/ Tue, 11 May 2021 14:54:43 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59482 Harley Quinn may have started as a female love interest for the Joker, but she’s evolved into an independent character, one that has her own arc in the DCEU. Comic readers know that Harley eventually ends up with Poison Ivy, and while we haven’t gotten a live-action Ivy yet, Harley actress Margot Robbie is very much interested in exploring that romance.

Talking to Den of Geek, Robbie was asked about a possible romance between her Harley and a yet-to-be-cast Ivy, to which she replied:

“Trust me, I chew their ear off about it all the time… They must be sick of hearing it, but I’m like, ‘Poison Ivy, Poison Ivy. Come on, let’s do it.’ I’m very keen to see a Harley-Poison Ivy relationship on screen. It’d be so fun. So I’ll keep pestering them. Don’t worry.”

For now, Robbie is set to appear as Harley in James Gunn’s upcoming The Suicide Squad. We don’t know where the character could go from there, but a rumor had been going around that Harley could pop up in a Gotham City Sirens film right after her appearance in Birds of Prey; should it move forward, it would probably be the best way to introduce Poison Ivy, but this is just fan speculation.

After the success of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, a lot of fans were hoping that WB would revisit a more solid approach to the “SnyderVerse,” but now, it looks like there are no concrete plans for a connected universe, and it looks like the Flash movie could be some kind of way to ‘erase’ what came before.

Then again, there’s still a lot of room for WB to change its direction. All we can really do is wait and see.

Catch Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad which comes out on Aug. 4.
