Here’s the trailer:

The official synopsis reads:

Brothers tells the story of a reformed criminal (Josh Brolin) whose attempt at going straight is derailed when he reunites with his sanity-testing twin brother (Peter Dinklage) on a cross-country road trip for the score of a lifetime. Dodging bullets, the law, and an overbearing mother along the way, they must heal their severed family bond before they end up killing each other.

Besides Dinklage and Brolin, the movie also includes performances from award winners Brendan Fraser, Marisa Tomei, and Glenn Close. The movie is also directed by Max Barbakow, who had done some fantastic work with the subverting of the Groundhog Day genre with Palm Springs.

I have to admit, Brolin has been kind of stereotyped into these hyper-serious grump characters, so it’s great to see him actually play against type and be the ‘stupid muscle’ of a crime duo. As for Dinklage, he hasn’t landed anything as big as Tyrion Lannister since Game of Thrones ended, but he’s managed to stick to non-stereotypical roles for little people, and you love to see it.

With a great cast and an interesting director, Brothers is looking to be an interesting comedy coming out amid the Halloween season. I wonder if there’s going to be any reference to Twins starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.

Catch Brothers when it hits Amazon Prime Video on Oct. 17.

Peter Dinklage Stars in Trailer for Dark Comedy American Dreamer https://www.geekfeed.com/dinklage-stars-in-dark-comedy-american-dreamer/ Thu, 22 Feb 2024 13:43:49 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81119 Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion Lannister days are way behind him, but after a more serious role in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Dinklage is going back to some more comedic roles with American Dreamer.

Check the trailer out:

The official synopsis for the project reads:

Phil Loder (Peter Dinklage) is a dreamer. Most dreams don’t come true. Phil hates that. As a low-level adjunct professor, his grand dream of owning a home is tragically out of reach…until a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes his way.

Besides Dinklage, the movie also stars Shirley MacLaine, Matt Dillon, and Danny Glover. The movie is also being directed by Paul Dektor, who has worked with Dinklage on Netflix series How to Become a Cult Leader, How to Become a Tyrant, and How to Become a Mob Boss.

You would think that after the role of Tyrion Lannister, Dinklage wouldn’t be able to find any more significant little person roles in the future, but he has somehow managed to land roles that don’t have to depend on his stature and simply rely on his star power as an actor.

I’m still waiting for Dinklage’s next big role in the future, but as for now, I’m just happy to still see him work and really set a new standard when it comes to roles that little people can play in Hollywood projects.

You think he’ll ever be in Star Wars?

American Dreamer officially releases on March 8.

New Featurette for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Brings Us 64 Years Before Katniss’ Revolution https://www.geekfeed.com/new-featurette-hunger-games-songbirds-and-snakes/ Sun, 29 Oct 2023 14:28:34 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79323 The Hunger Games film franchise had ended with a fizzle when Mockingjay – Part 2 released in theaters back in 2015, but there’s still more to delve into when it comes to the dystopia of Panem.

The prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is set to release next month, and we have a new featurette which tells us exactly who the main players of the early Hunger Games are, and how all the pieces fit together to make Coriolanus Snow the ruthless leader he becomes in the original films. Watch this:

Though it’s made clear that Snow is going to be the main character of the movie, there is a lot of intrigue when it comes to the character of Lucy Gray Baird who the filmmakers are calling the ‘Anti-Katniss’. Whereas audiences got to watch Katniss evolve and learn how the play the celebrity game in the Capitol, Lucy is said to be very adept at performing and saving face; making her a natural on the spotlight—and possibly deadly to everyone else.

We don’t know if they plan to split the prequel book into even more movies, but for now, it’s just exciting to come back to the world and have more of its history fleshed out.

THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES follows a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.

Sonbirds and Snakes will clash when The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes comes to cinemas on Nov. 17.

Rachel Zegler Announces Wrap for Hunger Games Prequel https://www.geekfeed.com/hunger-games-prequel-production-wrapped/ Mon, 07 Nov 2022 14:45:23 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71910 Katniss Everdeen’s story may be wrapped up, but Lionsgate is ready to go the prequel route with their Hunger Games franchise. Just in, we have a major update from star Rachel Zegler.

As announced by Zegler on her Twitter, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has wrapped filming. Here’s the post:

With the story taking place decades before Katniss Everdeen broke the wheel of the Capitol, Zegler plays the character of Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute girl from District 12. Though Lucy is considered to be the co-protagonist of the film, we’re also going to be following a young Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) as he learns to play the Capitol’s game and sets the stage for himself becoming one of the most ruthless leaders of Panem.

With the film coming out in November of next year, it could be a while before we get a new trailer, but fingers crossed we get a teaser before the year ends—especially now that filming has wrapped.

Here’s the official description for the film.

Return to The Hunger Games, the landmark film franchise that has earned over $3 billion globally, with Lionsgate’s adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ #1 New York Times Bestseller The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Years before he would become the tyrannical President of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) is the last hope for his fading lineage, a once-proud family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, the young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), the girl tribute from impoverished District 12. But, after Lucy Gray commands all of Panem’s attention by defiantly singing during the reaping ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favor. Uniting their instincts for showmanship and newfound political savvy, Snow and Lucy Gray’s race against time to survive will ultimately reveal who is a songbird, and who is a snake.

Catch The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes when it hits theaters Nov. 17, 2023.

Is Peter Dinklage Going to be in Thor: Love and Thunder? https://www.geekfeed.com/is-peter-dinklage-going-to-be-in-thor-love-and-thunder/ Wed, 23 Feb 2022 16:19:35 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64194 Peter Dinklage played the giant dwarf Eitri in Avengers: Infinity War, but after Endgame, we don’t really get any update from his character. As it turns out, we might see him make a return in Thor: Love and Thunder.

While promoting his upcoming movie Cyrano, Dinklage was asked by Empire(via The Direct) about any possible MCU returns, to which he replied, “Well, there’s another Thor movie there, isn’t there? Coming out that Taika’s directed. But, I didn’t say anything. I didn’t say anything.”

Dinklage may not have said anything specific, but that’s already enough to get the rumor mill churning. Though he was only in a supporting role in Infinity War, Eitri was very crucial into the forging of Stormbreaker, and it would make sense if we would get a small update on him and the state of Nidavellir after the events of Endgame. Maybe it’s even him that manages to reforge Mjolnir, seeing as it’s the weapon that Jane Foster uses to become the Mighty Thor.

With a release date set for July, we have yet to get any official look at Thor: Love and Thunder. For now, Marvel is still juggling the marketing for Moon Knight and Doctor Strange 2, so it’s possible they could start the marketing for Love and Thunder sometime in May, after the release of Multiverse of Madness.

Thor: Love and Thunder comes out July 8, and though it’s unsure if Dinklage will make an appearance, he will be the star of Cyrano which hits theaters on Feb. 25.

Peter Dinklage Stars in New Trailer for Joe Wright’s Cyrano https://www.geekfeed.com/peter-dinklage-stars-in-new-trailer-for-joe-wrights-cyrano/ Thu, 07 Oct 2021 19:07:42 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=61866 The book may be closed on Tryion Lannister, but a lot of people are still waiting to see more of Peter Dinklage. Just in, MGM has dropped a new trailer for Cyrano, and it features Dinklage in the lead role of poet/duelist Cyrano de Bergerac.

Watch the trailer for Cyrano down here:

Here’s the tagline: Too self-conscious to woo Roxanne himself, wordsmith Cyrano de Bergerac helps young Christian nab her heart through love letters.

The original play was written in the 1890s and is actually based on a real Cyrano de Bergerac, but classically, the character is portrayed to have a very large nose (hence making him “ugly”). This modern iteration has a different source of Cyrano’s insecurities, making him a dwarf.

The movie is directed by Joe Wright who is best known for his movies like Atonement and the adaptation of Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley. Variety reports that the movie had actually premiered at the Telluride Film Festival, and that some are saying that Dinklage’s portrayal could very much nab him an Oscar nomination.

Besides Dinklage, the movie also includes Haley Bennett, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Ben Mendelsohn. While we all know that Dinklage is a fantastic actor thanks to Thrones, Cyrano will actually have us watching him sing (and swordfight) for the first time. With him breaking boundaries with his role as Tyrion, it’s going to be interesting to see him actually take the lead role in a film as the main love interest.

Cyrano is set to hit theaters this December.
