A new teaser has been dropped, and though it barely runs for 30 seconds, it wastes no time showing off all of its stars. Check this out:
For this season, guest stars include:
It’s actually interesting that Schilling should be cast for this season, since she was a regular on Orange is the New Black which also starred Lyonne. In the first season, Lyonne was reunited with Clea DuVall, who co-starred with Lyonne on their cult movie But I’m a Cheerleader.
Though Knives Out is a whodunit murder mystery, Poker Face is kind of a subversion of the formula where the killers are revealed in the first part of the episode, and the mystery is how they’ll end up getting caught.
Admittedly, the formula does get kind of predictable as each episode comes along, but there are some interesting changes from time to time where a killer isn’t caught, but justice is served one way or another.
As someone who enjoyed The Last Jedi, I’m still holding out for Rian Johnson to make his Star Wars trilogy, but as of now, it does seem like he’s living his best life just making whodunit movies and series with the most prolific actors of today.
The new season of Poker Face comes to Peacock on May 8.

First look at Sheldon & Amy in the final episode of ‘YOUNG SHELDON’ pic.twitter.com/slggCbyDHS
— DiscussingFilm (@DiscussingFilm) May 6, 2024
It’s not clear exactly when this will show up in the finale, but it’s likely it’s going to be used as a framing device for the entire show. My guess it’s something pretentious like Sheldon writing his own backstory after he won the Nobel Prize; with Amy coming around to tell him how silly he was being.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we got an update on the rest of the TBBT cast, but the show has confirmed that Sheldon and Amy have a bunch of kids—and one of them is named ‘Leonard’. It’s possible that the finale could also set-up another spinoff which has already been announced focusing on Sheldon’s brother Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) who have a child together in the latter seasons of Young Sheldon.
Love or hate Big Bang Theory or Young Sheldon, you have to admit that the show has mass appeal, and that’s probably the reason why producers were eager for a Georgie and Mandy spinoff. It’s very clean family fun, with some serious moments here and there—plus they get to recycle a lot of the ‘Sheldon is weird’ jokes from the original show. With Georgie and Mandy though, I think they’ll have a new wealth of callbacks thanks to Young Sheldon.
Young Sheldon is set to end with its final 2 back-to-back episodes on May 16 on Paramount+.
]]>Talking to Variety, Harmon confirms that Glover was ‘almost’ correct in that the script was ‘almost’ finished. He says:
“I can confirm Donald Glover’s report that I told him the script was done, but I will also say Donald’s sources are so unreliable because the script is always ‘almost done,’… What can I tell you about it — it’s set on the campus of Greendale Community College. I’m super excited about it, and we’re almost done.”
We still have no idea what the movie will be about, but at least we can confirm that we are going to be headed back to Greendale, which the Greendale Seven will probably have to save again one way or another.
The movie is set to bring back all original main cast members which include Joel McHale (Jeff), Gillian Jacobs (Britta), Alison Brie (Annie), Danny Pudi (Abed), Donald Glover (Troy), Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley), Jim Rash (Dean Pelton), and Ken Jeong (Ben Chang). There has also been curiosity on whether Chevy Chase (Pierce) will make a cameo, but it’s likely he won’t be appearing especially with all the drama that came out while he was on the show.
“I’ve been having kind of a nervous breakdown the last couple of months just by working on it, and that’s a good thing because I’m having all kinds of flashbacks to 2009,” says Harmon about working on the film, “It’s gonna be awesome… I’m like, ‘Why am I crying about these characters?’”
No release date has been set for the Community movie, but you can check out the entire series (sans one D&D episode) now streaming on Netflix.

Here’s the official synopsis for the show:
In this comedic prequel event series to the Ted films, it’s 1993, and Ted the bear’s (Seth MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed. He’s now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John’s parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach) and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham). Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he’s a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship.
If you remember the first movie, the character of John was originally played by Mark Wahlberg. We don’t know if Wahlberg is going to make any kind of appearance on the show, but it would be great if he made some kind of cameo as present John.
As for the series, it does look like it’s leaning on a lot of the same kind of humor that you can squeeze out of a raunchy teddy bear. Despite that though, I have a feeling that ted is still going to have the emotional weight that managed to ground the original movie.
Watch out for ted when it comes out Jan. 11, 2024.

Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he’s a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship.
As the synopsis goes, they’ve aged John (originally Mark Wahlberg’s character) to 16-years-old to be able to walk the line of raunchiness and immaturity—which is essentially the brand of the franchise. We should expect Ted to fully influence all of John’s bad habits from his drug use and lack of ambition; but at the same time there should also be some hint at Ted’s former fame from back when everyone was excited to know he was a living teddy bear.
Admittedly the sequel to Ted wasn’t so well-received when it came out, but a prequel could bring everyone onboard with Ted’s brand of being the polar opposite of Chucky the Killer Doll. Hopefully the show will still manage to keep the heart between Ted and John.
Ted the series is set to premiere on Peacock this coming Jan. 11, 2024.
]]>Just in, we have a new trailer showcasing all the different kind of John Wick-esque action scene set in 1970s New York. Check this out:
The official synopsis reads:
The three-part event will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.
Just in case you’ve forgotten who Winston Scott is in the John Wick movies, he’s the character played by Ian McShane who is running the Continental when we first meet him. The series will also have Ayomide Adegun playing a young Charon, the concierge at the Continental who was played by Lance Reddick.
Any fan of the Wick franchise knows that the story is mostly just there to justify how all the action takes place, and it seems that we can expect the same from the series. Based on what we see in the trailer, it looks like The Continental is going to be bringing together all these colorful assassins, and we’ll get to watch them duke it out in some crazy action setpieces.
What more could you want from a John Wick spinoff?
Watch out for The Continental: From the World of John Wick when it premieres on Peacock on Sept. 22.
]]>Check out the trailer for Mrs. Davis:
Here’s the synopsis:
“Mrs. Davis” is the world’s most powerful Artificial Intelligence. Simone is the nun devoted to destroying Her. Who ya got?
The series comes from Tara Hernandez who had worked on The Big Bang Theory as well as Damon Lindelof, the writer behind HBO’s Watchmen and Lost. The idea for Mrs. Davis was apparently conceived mid-pandemic by LIndelof and Hernandez, with them wondering if there was an app that could just tell them how to deal with problems.
While the evil AI story has been done over and over again, Lindelof says that Mrs. Davis is different in that it’s designed as a benevolent AI—but that could still be problematic. He explains to THR:
“Instead of the AI wiping out humanity, what would that look like?… To us, that felt like the more potentially comedic and interesting way of looking at the God question, which is: What do people turn to God for? How does God make people feel? The thing about AI is it takes away the best part of God’s branding, which is mystery.”
With the current image of the Catholic church, it’s definitely odd that a nun would be a hero of the series, but Gilpin is a massive talent, and I can’t wait to see how she takes on this role.
Mrs. Davis premieres on Peacock on April 20.
]]>As per an official announced, Poker Face starring Natasha Lyonne has been renewed for a second season. Here’s the post:
Charlie Cale isn't done yet. Poker Face will be back for Season 2! No bullsh*t. pic.twitter.com/HIjfgSox1W
— Peacock (@peacock) February 15, 2023
We don’t know where the series is planning to go, but we should suspect that Charlie (Lyonne) finds a natural penchant for mystery solving thanks to her ability to detect when anyone is lying. Before she can push on with that though, she’ll have to deal with the bounty on her head that’s been placed there by one angry Casino owner.
While I was expecting the series to end up like Knives Out, I found the character of Charlie is actually a different kind of fun to watch compared to Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc. While Blanc is good at deducing all kinds of evidence, Charlie just kind of puts things together clumsily, while at the same time just being a carefree ‘trashy’ adult.
Here’s to hoping we get a Blanc/Cale team-up soon.
Here’s the official series description:
Poker Face is a 10-episode “mystery-of-the-week” series following Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.

This isn’t also part of the teaser, but there is also a clip of Pascal twerking with the Clicker behind the scenes making the rounds online:
https://twitter.com/NaughtyNDC/status/1620961222270263296
I have to say, for an SNL bit, that clicker actually looks pretty great. No doubt, they’ll probably keep him on for another bit, because it would be such a waste of makeup if they didn’t make at least one skit poking fun at The Last of Us.
It’s also worth mentioning that Pascal is the lead star of The Mandalorian. Since Pascal only shows up as himself for like one or two episodes of that series, I would love it if SNL made fun of the fact that he never really has to appear as himself for most of the show. I guess that’s how he was able to book so many things over the past few years.
Let’s also not forget he was also in Game of Thrones. Oberyn Martell was in just one season, but Pascal had such great charm he’s still one of the more memorable characters on that series after all these years.
Catch Pascal on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
]]>As per The Streamable, Netflix’s new model is now focused on only allowing password sharing within one household, so for every 31 days, an account has to sign in to the home Wi-Fi; if it doesn’t, then the account will be blocked.
As for users who would be travelling, Netflix is allowing them to request a temporary code when signing in, and it will only allow access for seven consecutive days.
While some are worried that their profiles will be lost with the new model, Netflix is also allowing a new feature that will allow you to transfer your watch history and recommendations to another account, should you get your own.
Needless to say, a lot of people are outraged at the change, and are predicting this will lead to the fall of Netflix as the world’s biggest streaming service. Here’s what some people are already saying online:
Reddit rarely offers anything meaningful to the world but this user summed up the @netflix password sharing ban incredibly well. pic.twitter.com/UnuqtynIY3
— Robert Jefferson (@comicsexplained) February 1, 2023
Cancel Netflix. They just lost my business. "Password-sharing" is not a thing, it's called password-using. This is regressive bullshit borne out of capitalist greed to squeeze more money out of us. People paid for a password and they use it wherever they go.
— Fifty Shades of Whey (@davenewworld_2) February 1, 2023
Never forget that @netflix purposefully supported password sharing for their growth.
You are paying for a certain number of screens, it shouldn't matter where those screens are located. pic.twitter.com/qHY42NSZ9o
— Steve Posthumus (@stovepost) January 31, 2023
I think by adding this limitation netflix isn't going to suddenly sell new memberships to a lot of college students. They'll probably just lose the business of split and small households and become a service only large/young families find worth the cost
— Jenny Nicholson (@JennyENicholson) February 1, 2023
We don’t know how this will all go down moving forward, but Netflix has been getting a lot of flak even before the password issue. The streaming service had been cancelling some well-beloved shows left and right, and the quality of new content isn’t necessarily that high.
With other large studios like Disney deciding to hoard their own shows for themselves and staring their own streaming services, Netflix looks to be in a desperate corner fighting to stay relevant.

She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.
With Knives Out and Glass Onion being murder-mystery movies themselves, I’m wondering how Johnson will make Poker Face feel different, but I think it would have something to do with the ‘investigator’ characters. Benoit Blanc may be a fantastic detective, but he still has to sift through the lies of the characters around him in order to get to the truth; Charlie, on the other hand, may not be so good at deduction, but she can always tell who’s lying—which could mean a different approach with these mystery stories.
I’ll admit, I am kind of worried that Johnson is starting to put himself in a specific genre box, but as long as the movies are entertaining, I’m going to check them out. I just hope he has time to work on his Star Wars trilogy because I’ve been a huge fan of his since Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.
Besides Lyonne being at the center of the series, the show also includes a lot of other famous faces like Adrien Brody, Ron Perlman, Stephanie Hsu, and Tim Blake Nelson. Even long time Johnson collaborator Joseph Gordon-Levitt is part of the cast.
I have to say, the premise pretty much sounds like it could have Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc as the main character, but I guess Johnson is reserving him for the movies. With this series pretty much sounding like a Knives Out spinoff, I can’t help but wonder if Johnson actually had a bunch of ideas he couldn’t use for Glass Onion, and instead decided to just put them all in an alternate series.
Poker Face is set to start streaming on Peacock on Jan. 26, 2023. Catch Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery when it hits Netflix on Dec. 23.
]]>While the series is expected to bring back the regulars who stayed until the end like Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Alison Brie, and Danny Pudi, there is a question of whether the series will bring back actors Donald Glover, Yvette-Nicole Brown, and Chevy Chase, who were all central cast members who left before the series ended.
During a panel at the New York Comic-Con (via Variety), Dan Harmon explained that bringing back Donald Glover was a necessity, but the same can’t be said for Chevy Chase. Harmon explains:
“I think that Donald is coming, based on word of mouth, but it’s just the deal isn’t official or wasn’t official. It would be difficult to really commit to doing this thing without Donald… So I believe he is coming back. I think if there’s names missing from a list, it’s because the names that are on the list, their deals are agreed upon enough that it’s OK to say they are on the list, and anybody that’s not on a list, it’s just not the case yet. So there is nothing official about anybody being out”
Dan Harmon on whether Chevy Chase will return for the #Community movie: "I don't even know if it's legal for him to come back." https://t.co/fMXIrHEh47 pic.twitter.com/tk5vhWor8q
— Variety (@Variety) October 7, 2022
As for Chase’s inclusion, Harmon said, “I don’t even know if it’s legal for him to come back… That may be out of my hands. There may something I sign for with an insurance company.”
Though Chase did have his infamous falling out with the show, I am actually kind of hoping that he makes a small appearance just to start mending fences. Pearce Hawthorne could be dead in canon, but he was such a central part of the series that they have to make some kind of mention about him in the film.
No release date has been set for the Community film, but it’s set to release on Peacock sometime in 2024.
]]>Gillian Anderson has expressed interest in appearing in the Community movie after Joel McHale mistagged her on Twitter, mistaking her for Gillian Jacobs. Here’s the exchange:
Perfect! Costume fitting and table read are next Tuesday. https://t.co/dMGf5R9duz
— Joel McHale (@joelmchale) September 30, 2022
We don’t really know what the story of the movie is going to be about, but knowing Community, the series has always been rife with celebrity cameos like Jack Black, Owen Wilson, Betty White, Jonathan Banks, and Michael K. Williams. It would only make sense that they would bring in some more celebs for the film.
If anything, I’m just hoping that they announce more of the original cast members soon. While it’s great that series regulars Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, and Danny Pudi are coming back; there hasn’t been an official announcement for Donald Glover or Yvette Nicole Brown. Heck, I’d even be open for a small cameo from Chevy Chase. How about some of the other side characters from the show like Garrett, Vicky, Star Burns, or Fat Neil?
No specific release date has been announced for the Community movie, but the film is expected to stream on Peacock sometime in 2023. You can watch out for Anderson in the next season of Sex Education on Netflix.
]]>Besides Seth MacFarlane who will be coming back to voice Ted, the show has also cast Max Burkholder to play Ted’s best friend John. While John is a grown-up when we meet him in the movie, this show will focus on his teen years—in which we can expect Ted to be nothing but a bad influence.
Besides the character of John, the series also includes Giorgia Wigham who will be playing the role of Blaire, John’s cousin who is described as an intelligent, liberal young woman. Rounding out the cast will be Scott Grimes who plays Uncle Matty, a ‘blue-collared Bostonian’ who is the traditional middle-aged working male stereotype, frequently clashing with his liberal niece Blaire.
The show will be in live-action and will also be set in the 90s. Here’s the description:
Peacock’s Ted is set in 1993 and Ted the bear’s moment of fame has passed, leaving him living with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett, who lives in a working-class Boston home with his parents and cousin. Ted may not be the best influence on John, but when it comes right down to it, Ted’s willing to go out on a limb to help his friend and his family.
While we never got a third Ted movie, this should allow MacFarlane to squeeze out more jokes from this bad-influence-bear. Though the films aren’t perfect, maybe MacFarlane will feel right at home developing something for television.
No release date has been announced for the Ted series.

Just in case you didn’t know, the concept of a dramatic Fresh Prince reboot got buzz around 2019, when filmmaker Morgan Cooper released a fan trailer re-imagining the show as a serious drama about class divide and race.
Smith (the actor) had this to say when he shared the first trailer for Bel-Air:
“3 years ago, my guy Morgan Cooper uploaded his fan trailer to YouTube, showing how he envisioned the Fresh Prince as a drama. Now, here is the first full look at his retelling of the story that’s always been so close to my heart.”
Though the core concept of the show is pretty much the same with the original sitcom, it looks like there are going to be some changes when it comes to certain characters. Probably the most noticeable is that of the character Carlton (Alfonso Ribiero). Though Carlton is mostly known as a dork on Fresh Prince, it looks like he’s actually thriving in this upper-class community, and there seems to be some tension between him and his street-raised cousin Will.
Here’s a short summary of the original Bel-Air series:
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was a 90s African-American sitcom that starred then-20-year-old Will Smith, as a teenager from a tough neighborhood in West Philadelphia, whose mother, who fearing her son’s safety and ability to grow in an underserviced black community, sends him to live with their wealthy relatives, the Banks, in Bel-Air, California.
Bel-Air is set to premiere on Peacock on Feb. 13, right before Valentine’s Day.
]]>Here’s the official description:
Set 1,300 years after the events of How To Train Your Dragon, dragons are now just a legend to the modern world. When a geological anomaly opens up an immense, miles-deep fissure in the Earth’s surface, scientists from all over the world gather at a new research facility to study the mysterious phenomenon. Soon a group of misfit kids, brought to the site by their parents, uncover the truth about dragons and where they’ve been hiding — a secret they must keep to themselves to protect what they’ve discovered.
While the pitch to have mythical creatures hang around in the modern day is interesting, it’s kind of sad to think that humans and dragons were never really able to co-exist again after the events of Hidden World. With the franchise’s main theme focused on the bond between Hiccup and Toothless, it’s kind of a lackluster end to suddenly have them separated.
Though I don’t expect Hiccup to make an appearance, I’m sure he’s going to be alluded to in some way in the series. Hopefully they manage to find a way to bring Dragons back to theaters because those movies were fantasy spectacles that deserve the blockbuster budget.
Catch Dragons: The Nine Realms when it premieres on Hulu and Peacock on Dec. 23.
]]>Check it out:
With Hidden World ending with human and dragonkind separating worlds, it looks like the sequel is going to take place generations into the future (1300 years later, to be precise), hopefully in a time where humans and dragons can co-exist once again.
We don’t have any story breakdown, but we do have a blonde dragon rider on what looks to be a descendant of Toothless. I guess the series really leaned in on the dragons acting like cats, and they have this new night fury patterned after a modern house cat. Besides that, we have some modern buildings and windmills.
So far, the only cast member revealed for the show is Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time), and the showrunner will be John Tellegen. While I’m expecting a whole bunch of human characters to appear, we should also expect a new variety of dragons to make their debut in the show as well. Hopefully we can even see how the story of Hiccup ends, because it’s kind of tragic to think that he and Toothless never got to reunite with each other after The Hidden World.
Dragons: The Nine Realms comes to Hulu and Peacock on Dec. 23.

Original trailer writer/director Cooper is also attached to Bel-Air as co-writer, director, and executive producer.
Jabari Banks, who currently lives in West Philadelphia, was told by Will Smith himself that he had landed the lead role in the drama reboot of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." https://t.co/M9pE5gYWIj pic.twitter.com/FoRFBKtlMj

Just in case you haven’t seen Coope’s trailer for Bel-Air, you can watch it here:
Though The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was one of the defining sitcoms of the 90s, the premise of a young man from the streets suddenly whisked away to the mansion of his wealthy relatives is fantastic ground for a modern-day drama.
Bel-Air was given a two-season order in September of last year and should be an interesting take on the original material. Smith himself is attached as an executive producer along with Quincy Jones; original show creators Andy and Susan Borowitz are also attached. Though the series is expected to be a drama, I’m hoping that there’s still some room for levity. I mean, this is an adaptation of a sitcom after all.
No release date has been set for Bel-Air, but you can catch the show when it comes out on Peacock (hopefully by 2023).
