The movie is set to release this September with new lead girl Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), and we just got a new trailer filled with all kinds of trademark Tim Burton-isms like stop-motion and stripes. Check this out:
Here’s the synopsis for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice:
Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.
Though the first teaser was pretty sparing on the reveals, the new trailers gives us a good look at all the kinds of wacky effects we should expect with a Beetlejuice movie.
There are definitely a lot of callbacks to all the classic gags from the first movie, including the exaggerated clay faces—plus we also have that same gag of Beetlejuice making a scary face, and we can only see it from the back where things are flying out of it.
I’ll admit, this thing looks to be leaning really heavily on nostalgia, but I am hopeful that we get a significant arc for Ortega’s character who is the new ‘Lydia’ of the story. That being said, I also hope that Lydia herself (Winona Ryder) also gets to have a significant role in the movie as well.
Catch Beetlejuice Beetlejuice when it releases in theaters on Sept. 6.
]]>Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set to come out this September, and we have our first teaser with a returning Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara. Wednesday’s Jenna Ortega is in this one too. Check it out:
The official description reads:
Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem
Admittedly we don’t see any of the wacky antics that we know Beetlejuice is capable of, but seeing that Tim Burton is back in the director’s chair, we should expect a lot of very kooky visuals that Burton is associated with.
Besides the cast members that show up in the teaser, the cast also includes the likes of Justin Theroux, Monica Belluci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe.
The movie is also said to be bringing back some more old-school types of visual effects including stop-motion, but we’ll just have to wait and see what’s in store. I do have to say though, having Beetlejuice come back and have him reference OJ Simpson with his first line is the perfect kind of dark comedic tone I expect from a character like him.
Catch Beetlejuice Beetlejuice when it releases in theaters on Sept. 6.
]]>We don’t have any official promotional material for the film yet, but we do have set photos of Ortega in character as Astrid Deetz, the daughter of Lydia Deetz, Winona Ryder’s character from the first movie. Check this out:

The story for the Beetlejuice sequel still hasn’t been revealed, but we can assume that Michael Keaton’s Beetlejuice is going to be the big mistake that Ortega’s character suddenly summons, and it will be up to Lydia to try and help her daughter get rid of him. After playing Joyce Byers in Stranger Things, it does seem like Ryder is getting typecast as a distraught mother from the 80s.
It does seem like the film is going to be set in modern day, but watching Ortega with the stripes riding her bicycle does give off a lot of very 80s vibes—there’s a reason why bikes are so prominent in Stranger Things as well.
The sequel is still set for a release in September, so it will probably be a while before we get to see some official promo material. I would guess that we could get something around the end of the year, but maybe they could release a teaser around March; that’s just my guess.
The Beetlejuice sequel is set for a release on Sept. 6, 2024.
]]>We haven’t gotten any updates from Mando since Homecoming, but a rumor is going around that he’s going to be making his MCU comeback. This comes from @MyTimeToShineHello:
Guess who's coming back that's right Scorpion finally! pic.twitter.com/1Atr1sBiCH
— MyTimeToShineHello (@MyTimeToShineH) September 11, 2023
So far, nothing official has been confirmed by Marvel or Sony, but a return from Mando would make sense; what with his character already set-up. In Homecoming, he was there to make a deal with the Vulture for some stolen weapons tech, and after Spider-Man thwarts the deal, Scorpion ends up in prison with some serious injuries, and he even has a brace that would set-up some kind of high-tech prosthetic:
We don’t know exactly what they have planned for him, but the animated Spider-Verse kind of builds on the idea of the Mando Scorpion by introducing a Scorpion that spoke Spanish, and with a lot of his body parts being high-tech prosthtics—one arm being a claw.
If the new Spider-Man films have taught us anything, not every villain has to be the ‘big bad’, and classic villains from the comics can simply just be side characters or small-time crooks. It would be great to have Mando just have a short role in a future film, but seeing how his character was built up in Homecoming, it would be great if he could have a role he can really sink his teeth into.
No release date has been set for the next MCU Spider-Man movie.
]]>Thanks to People Magazine, we have a set photo of Ortega in a wedding dress as well as original Beetlejuice lead Winona Ryder. Check them out here:
Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder Seen Filming Wedding Scene for 'Beetlejuice 2' (Exclusive Photos) https://t.co/ciQo6pmsFm
— People (@people) July 6, 2023
It was reported back in May that Ortega will be playing the daughter of Ryder’s character Lydia Deetz. We don’t know exactly what the story is going to be like yet, but we’re also expecting Michael Keaton to return as the chaotic demon Beetlejuice.
With roles in Scream, X, and Wednesday, Ortega is slowly cementing herself as this generation’s horror icons; so it was perfect that she would be cast in a revival of a property like Beetlejuice. Though Ryder is now best known for her role as a distraught mother in Stranger Things, it’s going to be interesting to watch her pass the torch to Ortega as the new lead girl of the franchise.
As for Michael Keaton, we don’t really know how he feels coming back to another classic character after Batman in The Flash, but hopefully he plays the part with all the enthusiasm of Harrison Ford coming back as Indiana Jones in Dial of Destiny.
Beetlejuice 2 is set to release on Sept. 6, 2024, but in the meantime, you can check out Ryder and Ortega on their respective shows Stranger Things and Wednesday now streaming on Netflix.

While I imagine that Keaton is re-living the plot of Birdman by returning for this movie, it’s kind of a neat story that he allegedly filmed the Batcave to send to Tim Burton, the director of his Batman movies. We don’t know what Burton has to say about the movie yet, but based on critic reviews and everyone else who’s seen the movie, this looks to be one of the best superhero films to come out of DC.
In fact, it’s so good that it managed to keep Ezra Miller from getting permanently cancelled online—and not for lack of trying.
I’m just hoping for a good movie, and a proper sendoff to the Snyderverse. While it’s a shame we never got to see it completed, I’m just eager to push forward with the universe without it having to go back to zero.
Worlds collide when the Flash uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past. However, when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, he becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation. With no other superheroes to turn to, the Flash looks to coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian — albeit not the one he’s looking for.
The Flash speeds into theaters on June 16.

We’ve known for a while that Ben Affleck’s Batman was going to appear, but now we have confirmation that Jeremy Irons is also returning as Alfred. We don’t know how large Irons’ role will be in the film, but I guess it does offer more comparison to Michael Keaton’s Batman who probably doesn’t have Alfred helping him out anymore.
As someone who was a silent supporter of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, it’s definitely sad to see WB just redo everything that’s been set-up, but hopefully co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran manage to establish a new universe without having to go right back to zero.
Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?

]]>DiscussingFilm reports that Wednesday star Jenna Ortega has been cast in Beetlejuice 2, and she will be playing the part of Lydia Deetz’s (Winona Ryder) daughter. Ryder herself is set to appear in the film, and of course, it isn’t a Beetlejuice film if they didn’t bring back Michael Keaton.
It’s also worth mentioning that Tim Burton—who also directed Wednesday—is also back at the helm for the Beetlejuice sequel.
We don’t have any idea as to what the plot for Beetlejuice 2 is yet, but some speculate that it will be Ortega’s character that will summon him and have to deal with his undead shenanigans. If anything, we should expect a plot that’s similar to the first movie, with Beetlejuice wreaking havoc for both the living and the dead.
Here’s the synopsis of the original film:
Michael Keaton, Academy Award winner Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, and Winona Ryder star in director Tim Burton’s comic twist on supernatural horror tales–Beetlejuice. When a couple of nice, young homebody ghosts try to haunt the pretentious humans who have moved into their house, they ask for help from a demonic wraith they cannot control in this comic fantasy that mixes the quick and the dead with a laugh and a fright.
With a release set for Sept. 6, 2024, hopefully we get our first look at Beetlejuice 2 before the year ends. In the meantime, you can catch Ortega and Ryder in their own Netflix series Wednesday and Stranger Things (respectively).
]]>Check out the second trailer for The Flash:
The trailer pretty much sets the story for the film in which Barry alters the timeline and he’ll have to find a new team of superheroes to help him stop General Zod—one of them being an alternate Barry Allen who doesn’t have any powers.
We get a lot more footage of both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck’s Batmen, plus we also have some more dialogue from Sasha Calle’s Supergirl who seems to know who Zod is. There’s also a brief shot of the other Barry wearing an altered bat costume so that it looks more like a Flash outfit.
Here’s the official description for the film:
Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. More images emerge for THE FLASH including a brand new look at Ben Affleck’s Batman! #TheFlashMovie pic.twitter.com/71BkUPPcTD
— The Flash Film News (@FlashFilmNews) April 14, 2023
While the film is leaning heavily on Keaton’s return as Batman, a lot of Snyder fans are excited to see Ben Affleck’s version of the Dark Knight one more time. Though some were hoping that Affleck could stay on for spinoffs, the actor has said that The Flash will be his swan song for this version of Batman.
As for Sasha Calle, she’s going to be playing an altered version of Superman from The Flashpoint Paradox. In Flashpoint, Superman isn’t raised in a farm, but was instead apprehended by the US government and experimented on for years. It looks like Calle’s Supergirl is going to go through the same thing, but instead she’s captured as a young adult Kryptonian rather than raised in the prison since birth.
Then again, I’m just guessing based on what’s in the trailers.
Here’s the film synopsis:
Barry Allen uses his super speed to change the past, but his attempt to save his family creates a world without super heroes, forcing him to race for his life in order to save the future.
The Flash is set to release in theaters on June 16.

It’s not the exact Batwing from the movie, but you can see a lot of design elements are still the same, with the placement of the cockpit and the ‘horns.’ The overall silhouette is also changed, not being as circular as the one we saw in the original Batman.
With Ben Affleck’s Batman being modern in terms of today’s tech advancements, it’s interesting to wonder just how Keaton’s Batman would be technologically advanced in his world. I’m excited to see the Batwing again, but what else does he have up his sleeves?
Besides his gadgets and vehicles, I wonder if modern Gotham is still going to be as steam-covered and dark as the one we got in the Burton movies. It would be great if they were able to invoke that same feeling audiences in the 80s got when they saw Gotham, but with today’s crowd.
With a release set for June, DC sure is taking its time to reveal to us the first teaser for The Flash. They say it’s because the VFX required just really needs the time to be polished, but some believe that WB is just waiting for all the buzz to die down on Ezra Miller’s latest headlines.

Here’s your first look at the “Improvised” Flash suit
#TheFlash pic.twitter.com/ouaA1rMppj
— The Flash Film News (@FlashFilmNews) December 4, 2022
While we’ve seen the new suit with the cowl, this is the first time we’ve seen most of the makeshift supersuit. The thunderbolt sprayed over the bat symbol was teased years before, but now we get to see that the ‘ears’ have been cut off the cowl, most of the suit is painted red, and some traffic stickers have been placed in some parts of the suit. I’m guessing the yellow bits on his head are supposed to headphones.
From Spider-Man’s homemade suit in Homecoming to Iron Man’s first suit that he built in the cave, I’m honestly a sucker for DIY superhero outfits. I love how they were able to make use of a Burton batsuit, and they gave it its own original flair that shows off the personality of the Flash.
Though Ezra Miller has been making some problematic headlines over the past few months, one thing remains constant with the test screenings, and it’s that audiences have had very positive reactions to the movie. Will The Flash eventually mark a new era for the DCEU, or will it go the way of Sony’s Morbius?
We’ll just have to wait and see.
The Flash is set to come to theaters June 23, 2023.
]]>As per Deadline, WB has indefinitely shelved Batgirl, pulling it from its release date on HBO Max, with no intention to screen it on theaters either. We have no specifics as to why Batgirl was shelved, but a source told the site that the movie ‘did not fall in line with the new strategy being implemented by DC Films as well as HBO Max.’
This is certainly coming out as a huge bummer for DC fans, and everyone is now worried about other projects that are down the DC pipeline. So far, it seems that Blue Beetle is still going to be releasing, but IPs like Black Canary are considered to be in major trouble.
The shelving of Batgirl is incredibly odd, considering that the movie had already wrapped, and is in the final stages of post-production. Some speculate that the higher-ups at WB just weren’t impressed with the film at all; but others think that there could be a recalibrating to return to the Snyderverse, and Batgirl was said to take place in a timeline where Michael Keaton would be the main Batman.
It’s all just speculation for now, but fans definitely agree that the cast and crew—specifically lead Leslie Grace—has been done dirty by WB. Let’s hope they reconsider in the future.
Batgirl has no release date.
]]>As confirmed by Jason Momoa on his IG, Affleck is part of the Aquaman 2 reshoots, and he would be reprising the part of Bruce Wayne in the film:
View this post on Instagram
While some are speculating that this means that Affleck will be back for more DC movies after The Flash, Aquaman 2 is set to come out first—meaning Affleck’s last appearance as Batman could still be in Ezra Miller’s solo film.
Though there has been a lot of support from fans when it comes to playing the part of Batman, the actor was said to have been struggling with some personal issues behind-the-scenes, ultimately leading to him hanging up the cowl. While I was already resigned to him leaving the DCEU, this does spark some hope for him to appear in more movies in the future.
If rumors are to be believed, Michael Keaton would be the main Batman of the DCEU after some multiverse shenanigans, but it would be great if Affleck would stick around for a bit longer—even if they don’t give him that HBO Max Batman movie that fans have been clamouring for.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to come out March 17, 2023. The Flash comes out later that year in June.

BREAKING: The first image of @MichaelKeaton as BATMAN from The Flash. pic.twitter.com/k703XOjBFK
— Epic Film Guys ® (@EpicFilmGuys) April 14, 2022
While there are still some doubts about the legitimacy of the photo, it does look pretty real. It may not be exactly like the suit we got in ’89, but it does feel like a natural upgrade from the foam abs to the utility belt. Even the boots and gauntlets have been given some more texture.
We don’t know exactly how Keaton weighs in on the story, but some are suspecting that Barry Allen will find himself in another timeline where Keaton is the existing Batman. We also know that Ben Affleck will be playing his version of the Caped Crusader one last time in The Flash, and there is also a rumor going around that the movie will end with Keaton as the main Batman of the DCEU timeline.
Of course, until the film releases, all we can really do is wait and see. With the Flash being pushed back so many times, fans are hoping that it will finally make its June 2023 release date rather than be delayed again. For a move about the Fastest Man Alive, The Flash sure has been taking its time to release, what with multiple director changes and the future of Ezra Miller’s DC career in limbo.
The Flash is set to come out on June 23, 2023.
]]>This comes from @ViewerAnon who says that Irons could be playing the Wayne family butler one more time in The Flash. They post:
Very surprised I haven't seen this leak yet but here's a small thing I hope will make people happy: Jeremy Irons is back as Alfred in THE FLASH.
— ViewerAnon (@ViewerAnon) April 10, 2022
@FlashFilmNews also adds to the news, saying that Alfred won’t just be a voice cameo, but will also have an onscreen appearance in the first act of the movie:
Alfred is in the first act and appears on camera. He’s not just a voice in Bruce and Barry’s ear during the heist with the Batcycle
— The Flash Film News
(@FlashFilmNews) April 10, 2022
Some fans actually think that WB might keep Irons on as the Alfred to Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne, but seeing that the two only have a three-year age difference, they might want to cast someone older as Alfred or de-age Keaton for a few years.
Then again, there hasn’t been any official confirmation on WB’s part about Alfred’s return, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Though Michael Caine was a supportive Alfred, and Andy Serkis was more concerned with Bruce living up to the Wayne legacy; I enjoyed Irons’ take on the character—though he is an active supporter of Batman, he’s never shy of having some dry quips paired with some much-needed gravitas for the Dark Knight.
With the movie set to come out June of next year, we might have to wait until early 2023 to get a look at The Flash. Let’s hope this will be the last delay of the movie after all these years.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2023.
]]>During an appearance with GQ’s Actually Me, Cage was faced with a question about making a Superman movie today, to which he replied, “Would it matter how much time I appear as the character? There might still be a chance. “
Ever since it was announced that Michael Keaton would be returning as Batman for The Flash, there have been fans who have been pleading online to have Nicolas Cage play his cancelled version of Superman in the movie. Based on what Cage said during the interview, he could be teasing a Superman cameo in The Flash. Otherwise, he probably should have mentioned he just played Superman in Teen Titans GO! To the Movies—which probably doesn’t count.
Take note, this is just speculation based on how Cage answered the Superman question. We know that Sasha Calle will be playing Supergirl in The Flash, and the jury’s still out on whether it will be a genderbent version of Clark Kent, or whether she is the cousin of Clark in-universe. We’ll just have to wait and see till the movie comes out in 2023.
We don’t know for sure if Cage will be playing Superman soon, but we do know he’ll be playing himself in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent which hits theaters on April 22.

If you watch the final trailer for Morbius, it looks like Adrian Toomes may actually be acting like some kind of mentor for the troubled Michael Morbius. Check this out:
If anything, the trailer feels like it forgot who Keaton was in Spider-Man: Homecoming with the way he’s talking to Morbius. From the everyman character who turned to crime in order to salvage his business, Toomes is now saying lines about ‘becoming who you’re meant to be.’ If you ask me, that’s more of something Batman would say.
With the multiple delays that Morbius has been going through, fans are admittedly feeling confused about getting hyped for this film. If anything, it’s like Black Widow, which appropriately built on the hype; but it eventually felt exhausting, seeing as the movie was delayed for more than a year till it came out on Disney+.
While I certainly don’t like movies to fail, a lot of fans have been expressing their skepticism when it comes to Morbius. If anything, it could end up like Venom—critically reviled, yet a box office hit. What does the Chinese box office feel about vampires?
One of the most compelling and conflicted characters in Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?
Catch Morbius when it finally hits theaters on April 1.
]]>Producer Michael Uslan has shared a teaser for Keaton’s Batman return on Facebook, and while we’ve known for a while that he’ll be in The Flash this November, he’s been confirmed for another appearance in December.
What’s coming in December hasn’t been officially announced, but some suspect that this is the release window for HBO Max’s Batgirl movie. Set photos have confirmed that the film will have an appearance from Keaton’s version of Batman, and maybe this post from Uslan just further confirms it.
As of now, Batgirl’s place in the DCEU timeline is still pretty unknown, but it’s possible that via some multiverse magic, we can get a new established DCEU with a couple of faces—specifically Ben Affleck’s—changed.
For now, DC’s goal is to push the release of the Robert Pattinson-fulled Batman movie, and after that we should expect the hype train for Black Adam to start chugging. We don’t know when we’re going to get our first teaser for The Flash, but hopefully we get Batman’s full appearance—not just some teasers like what they did with Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on Nov. 4, but you can catch Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight when The Batman comes out on March 4.
]]>Check out these set photos from @muntermunter (via @BatgirlFilm):

Though it may not necessarily be Keaton in the suit, it does look like an upgrade of his version of Batman, complete with the all-black costume and yellow insignia.
We don’t exactly know what Batman’s role in the film will be, but I suspect that it’s going to be like Tony Stark in Spider-Man: Homecoming, where a young and eager Batgirl is just looking to help, but Batman thinks they’re too young to handle any serious danger.
Seeing that J.K. Simmons was the Gordon of Ben Affleck’s Batman in Justice League, it looks like the movie is going to be mixing up the timeline. A rumor suggests that The Flash will be establishing Keaton as the new Batman of the DCEU, and with Ben Affleck very clear that he’s done with the role, it seems that this Batgirl film will take place in the new timeline.
Though I am bummed that we won’t get any more of the more serious Snyderverse, I am eager for the DCEU to push forward. Even if Marvel has been leading in the box office, you have to love the variety of DC films that have been coming out from Shazam! to Joker. Hopefully WB continues the trend moving forward.
No release date has been set for HBO Max’s Batgirl.
