Thanks to the Kids’ Choice Awards, we have a new clip from the movie, and it reveals Optimus, Megatron, Arcee, and Bumblebee transforming for the first time. Check this out:

It’s unclear exactly how the lore works in the Transformers franchise, but it looks like the robots didn’t have the ability to turn into vehicles in the first place, and we get to see them do that for the first time here.

When it comes to the live-action movies, there have been fans who have been calling for just a cybertron-set movie with no human characters, and it looks like Transformers One is going to attempt to scratch that itch.

I have to admit, I preferred that the keep to the aesthetic of the new timeline established by Bumblebee, but I am willing to give a chance to this new G1-inspired look for Optimus and the rest.

With no hints at Megatron returning in live-action, I would very much love to see his drama with Optimus play out in some way, and these animated movies could be the best place for one of pop-culture’s most iconic rivalries.

TRANSFORMERS ONE is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever.

Watch out for Transformers One when it releases in theaters on September 20.

Watch: Seth Rogen Introduces the Cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem https://www.geekfeed.com/rogen-introduces-the-cast-of-tmnt-mutant-mayhem/ Mon, 03 Jul 2023 06:01:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77476 Paramount may have closed the book on Michael Bay’s live-action version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but they’ve now teamed up with Seth Rogen for an animated reboot—and it looks amazing.

Just in, we have a new featurette for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and it has Seth Rogen introducing everyone in the cast including the new main Turtles as well as the star-studded supporting cast. Watch this:

Though the movie did cast some smaller names for the main cast of Turtles, they definitely managed to nab a lot of talent when it comes to the secondary characters including Paul Rudd, Ice Cube, Jackie Chan, Rose Byrne, Hannibal Buress, and more.

Admittedly, I think every A-list cast member only has one or two lines of dialogue in the movie, but I am excited to see how the Turtles in the movie will bound off each other, seeing as their chemistry was based on the actual voice actors’ chemistry with each other.

The film is already looking very promising, and I can’t wait for one last trailer.

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

Watch out for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem when it releases in theaters on Aug. 2.

New Trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Comes Out Next Week https://www.geekfeed.com/trailer-for-transformers-rise-of-the-beasts-set/ Thu, 20 Apr 2023 18:00:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76432 Bumblebee may not be getting another solo movie anytime soon, but the franchise is set to bring back the Autobots for a new film called Transformers: Rise of the Beasts which comes out this June.

We’ve had the first trailer for a while, but it’s just been announced on Tiktok that we’re going to begetting a new trailer for Rise of the Beasts next week on Thursday, April 27. Check this out:

Though the trailer has teased some returning Autobots and the Maximals, the only one we really get a good look at is Optimus Primal. Hopefully the upcoming teaser will reveal to us even more characters; we’ve yet to see the robot form of Cheetor as well as any of the Predacons—fingers crossed we finally get to see Megatron’s T-Rex version.

The series may have dropped the Unicron storyline that Michael Bay was setting up, but I think there’s still a lot of potential with the new timeline that Bumblebee has set up. We don’t know exactly where it’s going, but as long as things go boom and the movie has some great toys, I’m sure Transformers fans will keep coming for more.

Here’s the official description for the film:

Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set to release in theaters on June 9.

Watch Reveal for Transformers: Reactivate Game https://www.geekfeed.com/watch-reveal-for-transformers-reactivate-game/ Wed, 14 Dec 2022 08:46:25 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72454 Splash Damage is a game developer that’s managed to work on some of the biggest sci-fi franchises in gaming like Halo and Gears of War, and thanks to the Game Awards, they’ve just revealed their next incoming title based on another piece of huge IP.

Here’s the official reveal for Transformers: Reactivate:

While the Transformers franchise has always been about the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons, this game will now bring in a new threat called The Legion who seems to be a mix of the villains in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and Justice League.

We don’t have a reveal on which Transformers will appear in the game yet, but the game does promise, some of their favourite characters; unique, weighty, and powerful, seamlessly converting between vehicle and bot form.’

With the Transformers franchise remaining to be a powerhouse IP in the box office, it’s only natural that we should get some AAA games based on the characters—which fans have been clamouring for for years. Though past Transformers games may lean in on the more cartoonish side of the property, I think that Splash Games could be working on something more serious for Reactivate.

Though Bumblebee may have been a smaller film that the usual ‘Bayformers’ movies, I think the upcoming Rise of the Beasts will get fans riled up once again for Robots in Disguise. Let’s hope Reactivate manages to do its namesake for interest of Transformers games when it launches.

No release date has been set for Transformers: Reactivate, but fingers crossed we get a launch for all major consoles sometime in 2023.

Colin and Casy Jost to Write New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film for Michael Bay https://www.geekfeed.com/colin-and-casy-jost-to-write-new-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-film-for-michael-bay/ Tue, 03 Aug 2021 16:38:58 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=60852 Though it had been announced that Seth Rogen was working on his own animated reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it looks like Paramount isn’t done with the live-action films just yet.

According to Deadline, Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost, along with his brother Casey, have been tapped to write the next live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, and Michael Bay is also attached as a producer.

We don’t know yet if the film is going to follow the continuity of the reboot, but after Raphael actor Alan Ritchson revealed how disrespected he was during the production of the last two movies, it’s possible that Paramount could be looking to reboot for live-action as well; then again, I thought that the last two films were pretty solid (at least for the kids), and it would be great if we can get a proper conclusion to this version of the characters. The Turtles’ chemistry was still gold, and the action was solid and fun.

On the other hand, a reboot for live-action seems to be warranted. It’s been seven years since the release of 2014’s TMNT, enough time for that kid-audience to outgrow that iteration of the turtles. Though the franchise has a history, it does need to keep reinventing itself every few years for a new generation of kids who have yet to get into “Turtle Power”.

No release date has been set for the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.

Seth Rogen Reveals Animated TMNT Release Date https://www.geekfeed.com/seth-rogen-reveals-animated-tmnt-release-date/ Thu, 03 Jun 2021 09:22:48 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59793 Though it looked like Michael Bay had launched a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise back in 2014, the release of the sequel Out of the Shadows had effectively killed any chances of any more entries. With Seth Rogen set to reboot the TMNT again with his company Point Grey Pictures, we now have a release date for the next Turtles film.

Rogen posted this on Twitter with the caption following, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles… Aug 11 2023 (Leo takes notes like I used to)”:

Though Leonardo is portrayed as the leader of the group most of the time, it looks like this reboot’s take will really lean in on his ‘teenager’ side, complete with high-school-esque note-taking.

In the note, we have Leo possibly researching the ‘ooze’ that led to his (and his brothers’) mutation, and we also have some nods to the Turtles’ human friend April O’Neil. We also have some kind of clue with the Turtrles’ dynamic, as Leo jots down that he still has no idea what Donnie is good at (with Mikey good with drama, and Raph good at Math).

Of course, no teenage boy’s notebook is complete without a drawing of a sword surrounded by burning words Honor and Loyalty.

Though TMNT is an old franchise, it surely is interesting to see how it manages to have a multi-generational appeal; that’s why the cartoons get rebooted once every few years—so that kids can always have a version of the Turtles that is theirs. Let’s hope that Rogen and his team will just be focused on bringing some fun Turtle Action to a new generation of kids rather than focus on pandering to an old fanbase that has a tendency to take things way too seriously.

…at least that’s my opinion.

Catch Rogen’s animated TMNT which is set to come out on Aug. 11, 2023.
