As it turns out, there are going to be LEGO sets made for the show, and a photo of what’s called ‘The Dark Falcon’ a.k.a. a evil version of the Millennium Falcon, has leaked online. Check this out:

What’s interesting is that the LEGO Star Wars set also comes with alternate versions of established characters like Darth Jar Jar, Jedi Vader, Beach Luke, Bounty Hunter C-3PO and Evil Rey. There’s also a third Sith character in the lineup, but it looks like he’s the protagonist that was made for the LEGO show and not anyone from the live-action properties.

We don’t know how much more of these sets LEGO is attempting to make—or if this is even going to officially release, but the teaser for the show had already given us ideas of what else they could make including Rebellion-coded AT-AT walkers as well as TIE X-Wings.

With Star Wars admittedly slowing down on the movie department, I’m pretty impressed that they managed to do a What If…? concept for the show that would also give collectors some fun items to get their hands on.

Watch out for LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy when it premieres on Disney+ on Sept. 13.

Star Wars Gets a ‘What If…?’ Series with LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy https://www.geekfeed.com/star-wars-gets-a-what-if-series-with-lego/ Wed, 08 May 2024 04:15:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82292 With Marvel getting its own alternate universe serieswith What If…?, there have been fans of Star Wars asking for the same thing. Though some can argue that Visions is pretty much it, LEGO has stepped up to bring SW fans their alternate reality fix.

Check out the teaser for LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy:

The gist is essentially something ‘rebuilds’ the Star Wars LEGO universe, and we get all kinds of mix-ups, not just with planets, but with ships and factions as well, with X-Wing TIE Fighters and AT-ATs which look to belong to the Rebellion.

LEGO Star Wars fans will also recognize ‘Jedi Bob’, a running gag among collectors since 2002 when LEGO released a set for a Republic Gunship and it came with a nameless Jedi which fans had lovingly called ‘Bob.’ They even have him keeping the classic yellow skin of the older SW sets.

Interestingly enough, Jedi Bob will be voiced by Bobby Moynihan:

With Lucasfilm being pretty strict with the Star Wars continuity, LEGO has been picking up the slack when it comes to more outrageous projects. They took over the Holiday Specials to branch out and cover other events like Halloween, and now they’re giving fans the What If/Star Wars series they’ve been clamouring for.

Let’s hope that Darth Jar Jar is just at the tip of the iceberg for this silly AU. I’d love some more ST-era characters to come back.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy premieres on Disney+ on Sept. 13.

LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian Halloween Special Incoming? https://www.geekfeed.com/lego-star-wars-mandalorian-halloween-special/ Sun, 30 Jul 2023 07:53:15 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77983 Star Wars is currently gearing up for the release of Ahsoka on Disney+, but we are getting a show that’s closer to the sillier side of things with another LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special.

As per Bespin Bulletin, a booth at SDCC 2023 had revealed an upcoming LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special dubbed Mandoween, and it will follow the LEGO version of Din Djarin and Grogu as they come across some spooky tales from a Galaxy Far Far Away.

Though the LEGO Star Wars specials were usually based around holidays like Christmas, this branch of SW has been known to cover other holidays including LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation and the Halloween-based LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales.

Though the LEGO Star Wars specials aren’t considered to be part of canon, they do have an interesting place in newer Star Wars material in that they focus on characters in the Sequel Trilogy. Though we have no idea what happens to Rey after The Rise of Skywalker, the LEGO specials do hint at her teaching Finn how to be a Jedi; we also get some backstory on Ben Solo which may as well could have happened in the actual canon (albeit with a few changes).

With Mandoween, we should expect the timeline to be pushed back to the Original Trilogy, but the nature of these specials has always been to cover all Star Wars eras. Maybe we can have a clue as to what Mando will be up to during the Sequel era?

LEGO Star Wars: Mandoween has not been officially revealed, but you can catch the other LEGO Star Wars Holiday Specials now streaming on Disney+.

The Resistance Crew Plans to Unwind in New Clip from LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation https://www.geekfeed.com/lego-star-wars-summer-vacation-gets-new-clip/ Wed, 27 Jul 2022 07:09:49 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70268 After a Christmas and Halloween special, LEGO Star Wars is back for another holiday treat with LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation. The special arrives on Disney+ this August, and we have a clip of Finn and friends arriving at what looks to be the real-life Galactic Starcruiser hotel.

Watch the clip for Summer Vacation here:

Just like with previous holiday specials, we should expect Summer Vacation to encompass all eras of the Star Wars universe from the Prequel Trilogy to the Sequels. Even though the main cast includes the likes of Poe, Rey, and Finn, we should expect appearances from Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, and maybe even Jar Jar as well. Not to mention we could see some faces from other spinoffs like The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett.

Admittedly, it’s kind of a shame that we haven’t gotten anything from the Sequel Trilogy on the big screen, but until then, we have these fun LEGO specials that might as well be our closest thing next to canon.

“LEGO® Star Wars Summer Vacation,” which is set shortly after the events of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” features the voices of “Weird Al” Yankovic, Yvette Nicole Brown, Kelly Marie Tran, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, and returning cast members from previous “LEGO Star Wars” specials, and includes “Weird Al’s” new original song, Scarif Beach Party.

LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation comes to Disney+ on Aug. 5.

Summer Vacation: LEGO Star Wars is Back for Another Holiday Special https://www.geekfeed.com/summer-vacation-lego-star-wars-is-back-for-another-holiday-special/ Mon, 27 Jun 2022 08:07:30 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=66672 Just when we thought LEGO Star Wars was only going to give us a Christmas special, they gave us a Halloween movie with Terrifying Tales. Now with the summer season in full swing, we have a trailer for LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation.

Check out the trailer for Summer Vacation down here:

Here’s the official description:

“LEGO® Star Wars Summer Vacation,” which is set shortly after the events of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” features the voices of “Weird Al” Yankovic, Yvette Nicole Brown, Kelly Marie Tran, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, and returning cast members from previous “LEGO Star Wars” specials, and includes “Weird Al’s” new original song, Scarif Beach Party.

Though we don’t have any update on whether Lucasfilm will give us more stories in the Sequel Trilogy era, we have been getting these stories set in the ST with the characters like Finn, Rey, and Poe undergoing a story which will feature flashbacks placed in the Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy timelines.

While these stories are non-canon, it feels like there is a little truth to them, what with Rey training Finn to be a Jedi or watching the flashback with Ben Solo’s younger days. Just watching the trailer there is already hints at more of Ben Solo’s past—albeit, it is told with that wacky LEGO slapstick.

Hopefully with all these Sequel Trilogy ‘updates’, Lucasfilm has something cooking for the ST fans in the future. We’ll just have to wait and see.

LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation hits Disney+ on Aug. 5.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Gets Gameplay Overview Trailer https://www.geekfeed.com/lego-star-wars-the-skywalker-saga-gets-gameplay-overview-trailer/ Mon, 24 Jan 2022 14:03:11 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=63582 After years of waiting, we finally have a release date for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and to top it off, we also have a new video giving us a full gameplay overview.

Check it out the trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga down here:

As the trailer also revealed, the game will finally release on April 5, 2022.

If you’ve played the original LEGO Star Wars games for the PS3 generation, you’ll know that they were pretty extensive and full of Easter Eggs, and it looks like this reboot is going to be aiming for the same elements.

Besides including chapters that will focus on every film in the main Skywalker Saga, players are also encouraged to explore each world, and find meticulously placed Easter Eggs.

I guess one improvement that this game makes is the fighting style of each character.  With the original games having very plain and simple controls for a massive roster of characters, it looks like each character will have special abilities (and even a skill tree) that could help them traverse fights and maps in their own unique way.

It’s been a long delay, but hopefully the wait has been worth it. With fans having to wait a long while before Star Wars hits the big screen again, this is going to provide a much needed Star Wars fix that hasn’t been met since The Rise of Skywalker came out in 2019.

The galaxy is yours with LEGO Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga! Play through all nine saga films in a brand-new video game unlike any other. With over 300 playable characters, over 100 vehicles, and 23 planets to explore, the galaxy has never been more fun!

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 5.

The Studio Behind Detroit: Become Human is Allegedly Working on a Star Wars Game https://www.geekfeed.com/the-studio-behind-detroit-become-human-is-allegedly-working-on-a-star-wars-game/ Tue, 21 Sep 2021 16:00:21 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=61602 Ever since EA lost exclusive rights to the Lucasfilm IP, we’ve been getting more announcements on upcoming Star Wars games from multiple developers. The latest studio rumored to be journeying into a galaxy far far away? The guys behind Detroit: Become Human.

As per French Youtuber Gautoz (via IGN), Quantic Dream has signed on to work with Disney. Though this is just a rumor, Dualshockers also reports that other sources have been able to confirm that QD is working on a Star Wars title, and that they have been doing so for the last 18 months.

We don’t have any details as to what kind of game Quantic Dream is working on, but seeing that they have built a reputation on story-based gameplay, we could very much get the same kind of angle when it comes to their Star Wars title. With established characters possibly being a huge draw for the game, it’s also likely that they could focus on an entirely new character so they can have more freedom with the story—kind of like how Respawn made Cal Kestis for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

As of now, there hasn’t been any official announcement on this title, so all we can do is watch and wait for a reveal. Even if that is the case, we have several other Star Wars games to look forward to down the line, like Hunters, the Knights of the Republic remake, the sequel to Fallen Order, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Upcoming Star Wars games like Hunters and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are set to come out sometime in 2022.

Enter Vader’s Castle in LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales First Trailer https://www.geekfeed.com/enter-vaders-castle-in-lego-star-wars-terrifying-tales-first-trailer/ Wed, 08 Sep 2021 09:01:33 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=61381 After the fun of the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, Disney+ is doubling down on the holiday fun of LEGO SW. This Halloween will bring us LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales, and has Poe Dameron and BB-8 exploring Vader’s Castle (which has been converted into some kind of Haunted Mansion theme park).

Check out the LEGO Star Wars trailer down here:

Here’s the official description:

“After the events of “The Rise of Skywalker,” Poe and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt who has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel. While waiting for his X-wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé.  Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.”

Though the story isn’t canon, this is the closest thing we have to progress when it comes to Sequel Trilogy material. We have some sort of backstory to the fall of Ben Solo, plus we get a Star Wars What If…? situation where Vader takes Luke Skywalker under his wing to become an Imperial pilot.

Though we have material like The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi incoming, I would love to keep exploring the universe pushing forward. Ever since TROS, I’m kind of itching to get back to the ST era instead of staying in the same OT and PT timelines.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales hits Disney+ on Oct. 1.

Disney Announces LEGO Star Wars Halloween Special https://www.geekfeed.com/disney-announces-lego-star-wars-halloween-special/ Wed, 04 Aug 2021 14:58:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=60888 Star Wars Holiday Specials have a reputation, and LEGO had decided to take on that mantle with the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special on Disney+. Now the brand is going to be taking on a different holiday this October.

Here’s our first look at LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales:

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales poster
via: StarWars.com

This non-canon story takes place after the events of the first LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special and will follow Poe Dameron and BB-8 as they land into some shenanigans on the planet of Mustafar. The official description of the plot from StarWars.com reads:

After the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Poe Dameron and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt. The crime boss has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.

With the future of Star Wars looking to be heavily leaning in on the Prequel and Original trilogy timelines, it’s a relief to get some sort of update on the Sequel era—even if it’s a non-canon Halloween special. We don’t know what Disney plans to do with the characters, but I think it’s great to see stories that push the timeline forward. Though The Rise of Skywalker is considered a finale, it could be seen as a new beginning for characters like Rey, Poe, and Finn.

Catch LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales when it comes out on Oct. 1.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga DELAYED Again https://www.geekfeed.com/lego-star-wars-the-skywalker-saga-delayed-again/ Sun, 11 Apr 2021 15:00:10 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59007 LEGO Star Wars is probably one of the most celebrated game franchises when it comes to the SW fandom, and a reboot was set to come out this spring that would cover all the stories from The Phantom Menace to The Rise of Skywalker. The game was originally set to come out last year, but was pushed to the Spring of 2021. Too bad for fans though, because it looks like the game will be delayed once again.

As announced by LEGO game developers TT Games, they would be delaying LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. No official release date has been announced, but we do know that the game won’t be releasing this Spring. Here’s the post:

While there are some people who are definitely not pleased with the development, the botched launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has taught gamers a very harsh lesson—a finished game that comes out late is better than an unfinished game that comes out on time. While Star Wars fans have been waiting a while for The Skywalker Saga, it would have been a huge waste to get it on the intended release date only to realize it wasn’t completed.

As of now, TT Games hasn’t given us any kind of release window, but fans have their fingers crossed that it will come out within the year. After hopes that the game would release alongside The Rise of Skywalker back in 2019, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga sure is taking its time. Let’s just hope the studio isn’t overworking the developers to make this game happen.

No release date has been announced for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
