The official description for the movie reads:

Calling all dudes—buckle up, because the new adventures of Ed and Dex start now! Your favorite fast food duo is back and serving up nostalgic laughs and new antics in Good Burger 2, streaming November 22, only on Paramount+.

The first Good Burger was all about Ed and Dex going up against giant fast food chain Mondo Burger, and now it looks like the sequel is also going to be dealing with the same thing. I didn’t even expect the movie to have any kind of comment on the current entertainment landscape, but they manage to sneak in a jab about workers being replaced by AI robots.

Besides that, the film also promises a lot of the same kind of antics that the first Good Burger had. Ed (Mitchell) still manages to be the loveable idiot while Dex (Thompson) is the straight man that has to pick up the pieces behind him. They even managed to put in another dance sequence with Ed in the center of it all, but at least it’s no longer in the insane asylum.

Though Millenials are sure to have some nostalgia for Good Burger 2, I am hoping that the film manages to be enjoyable for younger audiences as well who have grown outside of the peak of slapstick, gross-out comedy that was the 2000s.

Good Burger 2 comes to Paramount+ on Nov. 22.

Here’s the synopsis for the sequel (as per Variety):

“Dexter Reed (Thompson) is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed (Mitchell) welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back. With a new crew working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to get back on his feet but unfortunately puts the fate of Good Burger at risk once again.”

The movie is no Clerks, but it was a huge hit for Nickelodeon, spinning off from the original All That skit featuring Mitchell. Thompson wasn’t really in the Good Burger sketches, but he was brought to co-lead the film since he starred with Mitchell on their own hit show Kenan and Kel.

Besides the original duo, it would be great if we got to see some other returning cast members alongside new Good Burger workers. Some fans probably didn’t realize that the crazy girl that talks to Ed in the psych ward was actually Linda Cardellini (Hawkeye, Scooby-Doo, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3).

No release date has been set for Good Burger 2, but with production currently ongoing, we could see a release around mid-2024.

It’s been 25 years since the release of the film, but Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell have confirmed they will be coming back for a sequel.

They announced on The Tonight Show that Good Burger Part 2 is going to start filming this summer, and should be coming out soon. Watch this:

Though Mitchell was the only original cast member who was working on the Good Burger skits, the movie has brought in Thompson to co-star, what with the two having their own hit Nickelodeon show called Kenan & Kel.

Besides the duo coming back, I’m hoping we get to see some great guest stars return for the show. A lot of people probably want Linda Cardellini to come back and reprise her psychopath character, but I would love it if they have Kevin Smith cameo in some way, since Good Burger is basically just a kids’ version of Smith’s Clerks movies.

No release date has been announced for the Good Burger sequel, but hopefully the movie releases sometime in 2024.
