Night Shyamalan’s Old, but he definitely went viral with his latest Netflix movie Rebel Ridge, and everyone had wanted to get him cast in a big project as soon as possible.

As it turns out, fans can manifest destiny, and THR reports that Pierre has been cast as Green Lantern John Stewart in HBO’s upcoming Lanterns series. Pierre will be joining Kyle Chandler, who will be playing John’s older mentor and infamous GL, Hal Jordan.

So far, we only a know few things about the John Stewart role. For the Lanterns series, it’s said that Stewart is going to be a younger new recruit, and it will be up to Hal Jordan to bring him up to snuff. It’s also said that John is expected to be the main GL of the DCU, so that means he’s going to be a part of the Justice League along with David Corenswet’s Superman.

Some are also worried that this means that Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan is expected to die, but maybe DC has different plans for him moving forward.

Though 2025’s Superman is expected to launch the DCU officially, Lanterns is also going to be a different project in that it’s the first major TV series that will be in the DC Studios continuity. Sure The Penguin may fall under the DC umbrella, but so far, it’s still in its own separate timeline as well as The Batman.

Hopefully we get more info on Lanterns soon, now that the main leads have been found.

Lanterns has no release date yet, but fans are hoping for a premiere within the next two years.

WATCH: Kevin Conroy’s Final Scene as Batman https://www.geekfeed.com/watch-kevin-conroys-final-scene-as-batman/ Thu, 18 Jul 2024 12:01:03 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83361 DC fans had lost Kevin Conroy back in 2022, and it still feels like they’re mourning the loss of a performer who was behind one of the most definitive versions of the Dark Knight.

What’s interesting is, the recently released Justice League: Crisis of Infinite Earths Part Three features one final performance of Conroy as Batman, and it has him tackling the Joker for one last time. Check this out:

https://twitter.com/DCUPRIMETV/status/1813041573221048450

“I must say Batsy, I’m flattered. The end of the world, and you want to spend it with me? I didn’t know you cared.”

“I care, Joker, about Gotham, about Justice, and if it has to end, at least I go out like this—being Batman.”

Admittedly, it’s kind of a shame that they didn’t get Mark Hamill to voice the Joker for this final scene with Conroy, but at least the dialogue feels like a nice bookend to his run as the animated Batman.

Before this scene, a lot of fans were bemoaning the idea that his final performance as the Dark Knight would be in the poorly received Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game. At least it’s going to be in an adaptation of one of the most celebrated DC comic events—and it’s as the version of Batman that made him famous in the first place.

Now fully revealed as the ultimate threat to existence, the ANTI-MONITOR wages an unrelenting attack on the surviving Earths that struggle for survival in a pocket universe. One-by-one, these worlds and all their inhabitants are vaporized! On the planets that remain, even time itself is shattered and heroes from the past join the Justice League and their rag-tag allies against the epitome of evil. But as they make their last stand, will the sacrifice of the superheroes be enough to save us all?

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part Three is now available on digital.

Christopher Nolan Thinks Zack Snyder is One of the Most Influential Directors in Sci-Fi Today https://www.geekfeed.com/nolan-on-snyder-an-influential-director/ Wed, 03 Jan 2024 17:08:31 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80301 Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder are both auteur directors, but both seem to be at the opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to internet appreciation. Online cinephiles seem to love everything that Nolan pumps out, but abhor anything that should come from Snyder.

Despite this difference, Snyder still has his fans, and one of them is actually the Oppenheimer director himself. “There’s no superhero science-fiction film coming out these days where I don’t see some influence of Zack,” Nolan tells The Atlantic, When you watch a Zack Snyder film, you see and feel his love for the potential of cinema. The potential of it to be fantastical, to be heightened in its reality, but to move you and to excite you.”

Nolan had worked with Snyder when he was attached as a producer for the DCEU’s first movie Man of Steel, and even before that Snyder had made a name for himself adapting comic book material to the big screen with projects like 300 and Watchmen.

For now, it does seem like both Nolan and Snyder have put their comic book days behind them. Nolan for now is still riding off the high and success from this year’s Oppenheimer, and Snyder has made a deal to make some original IP with Netflix—specifically with his Rebel Moon franchise.

We don’t know what’s in store for Snyder’s future, but I certainly hope the best for him after how things fell out with WB Pictures.

Zack Snyder Not in Any Hurry to be Part of James Gunn’s DCU https://www.geekfeed.com/snyder-not-in-hurry-to-be-part-of-james-gunns-dcu/ Mon, 01 Jan 2024 13:00:11 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80260 Zack Snyder’s falling out with DC was pretty well-documented, and it resulted in him slowly getting kicked out with Joss Whedon taking over for Justice League. Despite his exit, a lot of fans are still behind him and are hoping that there’s room for him in James Gunn’s new DCU. The thing is, Snyder himself doesn’t seem interested.

Talking to The Atlantic, Snyder was asked on whether he’s already talked to the new DC leadership, to which he says, “I’m not knocking on James Gunn’s door, going, like, ‘Bro, shoot me one of those sweet movies.’” For now, the goal for Snyder seems to be creating some original IP, like he’s doing with Netflix and Rebel Moon. He says, The holy grail is some original IP that you create, that has resonance and is cool.”

If anything, it does feel like Snyder has gotten out of the superhero bubble before it had started getting stale. All big DC releases for the year have been considered massive flops, and even Marvel Studios hasn’t been able to have the same kind of pull in the box office as it once did.

When it comes to the notion of superhero fatigue, Syder did say, “I have the same fatigue,” explaining that the genre has fallen into some kind of ‘cul-de-sac’ which doesn’t allow for self-contained stories. “No one thinks they’re going to a one-off superhero movie,” said Snyder.

For now, Snyder is focused on the launch of his Rebel Moon franchise, and you can watch the first part now streaming on Netflix.

Patty Jenkins: Wonder Woman 1984 is a Christmas Movie https://www.geekfeed.com/wonder-woman-1984-is-a-christmas-movie/ Mon, 01 Jan 2024 12:35:26 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80249 Wonder Woman 1984 may have fizzled out when it released, and with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom releasing this month; a lot of fans are looking back at the Snyder-era of movies that was once known as the DCEU.

While a lot of fans admittedly didn’t “get” WW84, director Patty Jenkins has been thankful to those who appreciate the film after all this time and says it was always meant to be a Christmas movie. She posts:

With the first Wonder Woman being a superhero period piece like Captain America: The First Avenger, the movie received a lot of praise for presenting young women with an icon that can stand on her own against a male-dominated comic book movie franchise.

A lot of hype was building up for the sequel, but after the pandemic hit, and release dates got shuffled; Wonder Woman 1984 ended up having a mixed reception. Whether it’s the lighter tone or the insistence in bringing Chris Pine back, WW84 just didn’t manage to capture the audience like the first movie did.

Even if that was the case, Jenkins was set to work on a third movie, but she had decided to walk out after several notes from the studio heads—which were also going through their own shake-up on their own.

We don’t know what James Gunn and Peter Safran have planned for Wonder Woman moving forward, but personally I would love to see Gal Gadot in one more movie before they replace her. Fingers crossed.

No release date has been set for the next Wonder Woman film.

David Ayer Shares New Image of Jared Leto’s Joker from His Suicide Squad https://www.geekfeed.com/new-image-of-jared-letos-joker-suicide-squad/ Mon, 18 Dec 2023 10:47:41 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80165 Ever since Zack Snyder was able to release his version of Justice League, Suicide Squad director David Ayer has also been campaigning for the release of his original take on Suicide Squad. We don’t know if James Gunn will ever make the “Ayer Cut” see the light of day, but Ayer is still at it online.

Just recently, he shared an image of Jared Leto’s Joker from development with “hahaha” eyebrow tattoos. Check this out:

https://twitter.com/DavidAyerMovies/status/1736455762506101177

We don’t know if this version was ever supposed to be in the movie, but it could make sense in the timeline for Joker to have a different look depending on where we are in the story. What I really loved about the film is that it was a very original take on Joker, and based on what Ayer has been sharing about the character, audiences have yet to see Leto’s ‘real’ performance as the Clown Prince of Crime.

It’s unclear exactly what happened behind the scenes, but Ayer’s Suicide Squad was said to have been heavily modified after WB heads panicked when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice got divisive reviews. Originally, the film was supposed to have a much darker, serious tone; but it was all changed to be more upbeat and funny to have more audience appeal. The closest thing we have to the cut is said to be the SDCC preview that came out back in 2016:

We don’t know if Gunn will eventually concede to having Ayer release his version, but I am always up for director’s releasing what they originally intended; just like what happened with Zack Snyder.

For now, DC is set to start their major reboot in 2025 with James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy.

Zack Snyder Wishes James Gunn the Best https://www.geekfeed.com/zack-snyder-wishes-james-gunn-the-best/ Mon, 04 Dec 2023 11:06:15 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79918 Back in 2016, Zack Snyder was considered the chief architect of the up-and-coming DCEU, but after some behind-the-scenes mess and box office numbers, he was eventually booted out. Now James Gunn and Peter Safran are set to make the new roadmap for DC; and though Snyder fans believe there is beef among the two, Snyder says he’s actually reached out to Gunn to wish his DC universe well.

“I called [Gunn] and said I wish all the best for him,” Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter, “I told him I wanted it to work.”

During Gunn’s first days since he was announced as the new DC head, a lot of fans online thought that there was kind of some personal beef between him and Snyder, considering how Gunn was so adamant in rebooting almost everything in DC that came from Snyder’s version except for the parts that he’d already introduced (like John Cena’s Peacemaker). Most disappointing of all was Gunn confirming that Henry Cavill won’t be returning as Superman after a triumphant return in Black Adam which was celebrated by fans.

Going back to Snyder though, he may not have been able to make his Justice League films the way he wanted, but he does have one more DC project in mind should he be asked to return. Should he be called back, he would want to make a “true representation of the graphic novel” The Dark Knight Returns from Frank Miller. He wasn’t specific about anything from TDKR, but we do know that there were some elements from the novel that went directly into Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, from the whole feel of Ben Affleck’s Batman to his all-out brawl with Superman.

Snyder adds that if Marvel were to make the call, he would be interested in taking on Frank Miller’s Elektra Lives Again with Daredevil and Elektra.

For now, Snyder is gearing up for the release of the first part of Rebel Moon on Netflix. Watch out for Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire when it premieres on Dec. 22.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Team Happy Project Didn’t Turn Into Star Wars https://www.geekfeed.com/rebel-moon-team-happy-project-isnt-star-wars/ Wed, 30 Aug 2023 09:17:01 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78441 Probably one of the biggest hooks of Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon project is that it would have been set in the world of Star Wars, but seeing as the IP is so strict, Snyder decided to just make the movie something original.

While the film is already getting a lot of comparisons to a galaxy far far away, producer Deborah Snyder (who is also Zack’s wife) has expressed how happy their team is that they didn’t have to make something in the existing IP. Talking to /Film (via FandomWire), Deborah Snyder says:

“Once, it was a Star Wars film, and I never wanted it to be. I remember, I said to Zack, ‘I just feel like your hands are going to be tied so much in what that IP is,’ even though it kind of lived outside of it. So I was kind of happy when that fell apart, because I always felt like it was better. We learned so much with all our years working with the superheroes and creating those worlds, and to do something now that’s wholly original — we got to do a little bit of that in the world of zombies, and with Las Vegas, but to do something that is fantastical, we say it’s a science fantasy more than science fiction, and to take all those skills that Zack has been honing, and to do something in this space, just seemed really exciting.”

Though Zack Snyder is best known for his superhero comic work, his fallout with the DCEU is considered one of the worst ‘break-ups’ to ever happen between a director and a studio; and with Lucasfilm just announcing and dropping directors here and there, fans imagine that Snyder might find another hard time achieving his original vision.

So far, things are looking good for Rebel Moon. As expected from Snyder, the visuals do look original and fantastic. I’m just personally hoping that Snyder doesn’t get so caught up in the imagery that we actually have a story that’s compact and narratively solid.

Watch out for Rebel Moon when Part 1 hits Netflix on Dec. 22.

Zack Snyder Confirms New Teaser for Rebel Moon will Drop This Week https://www.geekfeed.com/new-teaser-for-rebel-moon-will-drop-this-week/ Mon, 21 Aug 2023 08:01:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78291 With the DCU starting anew, director Zack Snyder is moving on to greener pastures with Netflix, prepping for his own sci-fi space opera with Rebel Moon. The film is set to come out later this year, and Snyder has confirmed fans will be getting a new look at the movie next week.

This was his post on X:

And just in case you haven’t been following the developments, here’s the official description for Rebel Moon:

When a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival. Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the Mother World, Kora assembles a small band of warriors — outsiders, insurgents, peasants and orphans of war from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a battle over the fate of a galaxy is waged, and in the process, a new army of heroes is formed.

The film has been touted as Snyder’s own version of Star Wars with rebel fighters going up against the ridiculously overpowered space empire. Though it would have been interesting to see what Snyder would have done with a Star Wars property, Lucasfilm is admittedly too delicate of a brand for someone like Snyder to have real freedom to do what he wanted.

Even DC gave him authority to give his own spin to that universe, and look where that got him.

For now, Snyder’s fans are just happy to have him back on the saddle with another movie. Let’s hope this one manages to have a great, up-beat story besides being visually dazzling.

Rebel Moon premieres on Netflix this Holiday Season on Dec. 22.

Gal Gadot Confirms Wonder Woman 3 is Still in the Works https://www.geekfeed.com/wonder-woman-3-is-still-in-the-works/ Sun, 06 Aug 2023 17:04:17 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78088 After director Patty Jenkins left, and James Gunn took over and confirmed the DCU was rebooting, fans were convinced that Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman days were over; but that apparently isn’t the case.

Talking to ComicBook, Gadot has confirmed that WW3 starring herself is still a go, and she’ll be working on development with the DC co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. Gadot shares, “I love portraying Wonder Woman… It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”

So far, no details about the story or director has been revealed for the project, but it would be safe to say that the story will take place in the new established continuity of James Gunn’s DC. So far, only Blue Beetle has been confirmed to take place in that timeline, but fans are eagerly waiting for more details down the line.

Out of all the original Zack Snyder Justice League members, it’s probably Gal Gadot who has appeared in more recent properties, cementing her Wonder Woman role. She had appeared in a short cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and she also made a brief appearance in The Flash.

With both Wonder Woman films having been period pieces, it would be great if we could actually follow Diana in a modern setting, and see how she deals with women issues in today’s world.

I’m just crossing my fingers they hire back Patty Jenkins. Though I wasn’t the biggest fan of WW84, I think Jenkins deserves to see her story through.

No release date has been announced for Wonder Woman 3.

Nathan Fillion to Play a Green Lantern in Superman: Legacy https://www.geekfeed.com/fillion-playing-green-lantern-in-superman-legacy/ Sat, 15 Jul 2023 17:11:12 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77791 With James Gunn taking the helm for Superman: Legacy fans were wondering which of his friends were going to be showing up in the film. We don’t have any word on Michael Rooker or Shawn Gunn’s roles yet, but the movie has cast Nathan Fillion in a fan-favorite part.

According to Variety, Fillion has been cast as Green Lantern in Superman: Legacy, and not just any GL, but Guy Gardner. We don’t have any further details about Fillion’s version of Guy, but Gunn did tease that he could be getting his signature bowl cut from the comics, saying,Giving my old pal Nate a bowl cut might have been my primary reason for casting him.’

Though fans are usually familiar with Jon Stewart or Hal Jordan as Green Lanterns, Guy Gardner was a prominent figure in the 80s. Not the most heroic Lantern, Guy is considered a hot-head jerk whose heart is in the right place. Knowing Fillion’s penchant for comedic characters, it’s very likely his Gardner will be played for laughs, but we’ll just have to wait and see how he plays out onscreen.

I guess it’s also worth noting that Fillion did play TDK in Gunn’s Suicide Squad which is already set in the DCU, but since he kept his helmet on the whole time, I’m sure not too many people will be irked that Fillion will also be playing Guy Gardner.

Besides Fillion, the film has also cast other heroes including Isabela Merced (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) as Hawkgirl and Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class) as Mr. Terrific; the movie has also cast Anthony Carrigan (Barry) as the shapeshifter Metamorpho. They’ll all be joining a cast which includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent.

Superman: Legacy is slated for a release in theaters on July 11, 2025.

Watch: Behind-The-Scenes Look at Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon https://www.geekfeed.com/watch-bts-look-at-zack-snyders-rebel-moon/ Tue, 20 Jun 2023 14:12:02 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77378 Zack Snyder may not be directing a Star Wars film anytime soon, but he has teamed up with Netflix for his own version of a space opera with Rebel Moon. The film is set to premiere sometime this year, and TUDUM 2023 has given us a behind-the-scenes look at the film.

Watch this:

From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, comes REBEL MOON, an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making.

While franchises like Star Wars have rules to adhere to, it looks like Netflix has allowed Snyder to do whatever he wants with Rebel Moon, from the highly stylized costumes to the extensive action scenes.

The film looks like it takes a lot of visuals from Snyder’s non-franchise movie Sucker Punch, but seeing as that movie was pretty weak when it came to its story, it would be great if Snyder finally managed to nail an interesting narrative with Rebel Moon. Even his cut of Justice League admittedly ran a little too long.

If anything, I’m eager to see what Snyder has to bring to the table. Hopefully Rebel Moon ends up being more memorable than Army of the Dead.

Here’s the official description for Rebel Moon:

Rebel Moon starts streaming on Netflix on Dec. 22.

The Flash Director Says ‘Weird CG’ Was Done on Purpose https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-director-says-weird-cg-done-on-purpose/ Fri, 16 Jun 2023 09:21:00 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77331 The Flash comes out this week, but anyone who was able to catch the movie early has been griping about the weird Mummy Returns-esque CG that was used on several characters—specifically the cameos. As it turns out, this was the director’s intention.

Talking to io9 (via Gizmodo), Andy Muschietti confirms that the effect was supposed to put the audience in Barry’s POV. He explains:

“The idea, of course, is…we are in the perspective of the Flash… Everything is distorted in terms of lights and textures. We enter this ‘waterworld’ which is basically being in Barry’s POV. It was part of the design so if it looks a little weird to you that was intended.”

Admittedly, it does sound like an excuse to save face, but if you’ve seen the film, you’ll kind of understand that upping the CG to realistic-level visuals would have probably led to the movie coming out even further down the line. Plus, the well-celebrated ‘cameos’ of other DC heroes would have been a mixed bag of good and terrible CG.

Personally, I thought the movie was a great time. The film does present us with a very unique look at Barry’s powers, and the very core of the story with Barry trying to save his mother is heartfelt. Despite all the issues online with Ezra Miller, their portrayal of the Flash remains to be one of the most endearing characters in the DCEU.

Catch The Flash now showing in theaters.

The Flash Director Wants Ezra Miller Back if a Sequel Should Happen https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-director-wants-ezra-miller-back/ Thu, 01 Jun 2023 18:06:28 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77046 There’s been a lot of positive buzz about The Flash which comes out in a few weeks, but online netizens still remember that star Ezra Miller had been making headlines for some problematic behaviour.

Despite the controversy about Miller ending their Flash run with this movie, director Andy Muschietti thinks that Miller definitely deserves to return for a sequel should one get greenlit. Talking to The Discourse podcast (via The Playlist), Muschietti was asked if Miller would come back for a Flash sequel, and he replied:

“If [a sequel] happens, yes… I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did. The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. And, as you said, the two Barrys – it feels like a character that was made for them.”

Even before all the controversy, Miller was said to have been very dedicated with the making of the movie, and at one point even attempted to write the script for the film after multiple directors and writers came and went. Muschietti adds:

“In principal photography, Ezra was brilliant and the most committed and the most professional [actor]. Ezra gave everything for this role – physically, creatively, emotionally. They were absolutely supreme.”

So far, everyone online has against Miller and their antics, but based on all the positive early reviews that the film is getting—and Miller seemingly keeping their promise to stay out of trouble—it’s very likely we could be seeing more of their Flash down the line.

Then again, it’s not really up to Muschietti, and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Catch The Flash when it releases in theaters on June 16.

Final Trailer for The Flash Features Another Justice League Cameo https://www.geekfeed.com/final-trailer-for-the-flash-features-jl-cameo/ Fri, 26 May 2023 08:27:19 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76964 Rumor has it that The Flash will be sending off the Snyderverse timeline once and for all, and we should expect a final appearance from Ben Affleck as Batman and the rest. What’s cool is, the final trailer for the movie features one more cameo from the Snyder timeline.

Check this out:

We’ve known for a while that Ben Affleck’s Batman was going to appear, but now we have confirmation that Jeremy Irons is also returning as Alfred. We don’t know how large Irons’ role will be in the film, but I guess it does offer more comparison to Michael Keaton’s Batman who probably doesn’t have Alfred helping him out anymore.

As someone who was a silent supporter of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, it’s definitely sad to see WB just redo everything that’s been set-up, but hopefully co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran manage to establish a new universe without having to go right back to zero.

Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?

Catch The Flash when it speeds into theaters on June 14.

Ben Affleck Won’t Direct Anything for James Gunn’s DC https://www.geekfeed.com/ben-affleck-wont-direct-anything-for-james-gunn/ Tue, 21 Mar 2023 16:16:48 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=74104 Last December, newly christened DC co-head James Gunn had said that they were interested in getting ex-Batman Ben Affleck to direct his own DC project, and though it looked like that was going to be on the table, it seems that Affleck is closing the door on that opportunity.

Talking to THR, Affleck confirms, “I would not direct something for the Gunn DC. Absolutely not… I have nothing against James Gunn. Nice guy, sure he’s going to do a great job. I just wouldn’t want to go in and direct in the way they’re doing that. I’m not interested in that.”

We don’t know why Affleck would be so apprehensive when it comes to coming back to the DC banner, but it’s said that his terrible experience shooting Justice League could have had something to do with his decision. Back in the early days of the DCEU pre-studio meddling, Affleck was actually set to direct his own Batman solo movie; but things went south, and that’s how we ended up with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

For now, it looks like Affleck is going to close the chapter on his Batman with one final appearance in The Flash. We don’t know what exactly goes down, but fans are suspecting that Batfleck will die in the beginning of the film, which will result in Barry jumping to an alternat dimension where Bruce is alive—only this time, he’s played by Michael Keaton.

It’s still sad to see Affleck let go of Batman, but if he really was miserable making those film, I wouldn’t put it past him to try and move on.

For now, catch Affleck in The Flash which hits theaters on June 16.

Zack Snyder Teases a Darkseid Reveal for Next Month https://www.geekfeed.com/zack-snyder-teases-a-darkseid-reveal/ Thu, 16 Mar 2023 18:42:00 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=74086 With James Gunn rebooting the DCEU with The Flash, a lot of fans were sure that Zack Snyder’s time with DC was definitely over. However, Snyder has caused a stir online with his recent post about ‘Lord Darkseid’ with the hashtag #fullcircle.

Check this out:

The post has already earned more than 2 million views with close to 60k likes. We don’t know what this is for exactly, but with the mention of Darkseid, it’s very likely it will have something to do with DC.

Snyder had essentially left DC after what happened with Justice League, but for years fans have been hounding the studio to release Snyder’s version of the movie—resulting in the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max back in 2021.

Though that film was greatly received by the fandom, it still didn’t seem to interest anyone in WB, and even after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over as DC heads, we still didn’t get an update on what Zack Snyder was working on.

With Snyder having a full idea of where he wanted to take his Justice League movies, I’m guessing this could be a teaser for a comic told completely in the ZSJL timeline. I’d be even more surprised if we actually got an animated film with the cast returning to provide their voices. The way things are though, I think Snyder taking on a DC project after all this seems like an impossibility.

Then again, that’s just my guess.

Snyder Fans Now Want Netflix to Buy DC’s Snyderverse https://www.geekfeed.com/snyder-fans-want-netflix-to-buy-dcs-snyderverse/ Tue, 10 Jan 2023 09:46:34 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72838 The fight to #RestoreTheSnyderVerse has been going on since Justice League came out in 2017, and while fans were hopeful after a Henry Cavill return in Black Adam, James Gunn’s announcement that everything will be defunct to start his new DCU felt like the final twist of the knife to the fandom.

But it looks like the Snyder-heads aren’t going down without a fight.

Now the community is organizing some kind of mass protest to have Netflix purchase DC’s Snyderverse and just have Snyder develop those stories on their platform. Here’s a post:

Though I have always been a silent supporter of the SnyderVerse, I think that Netflix buying out the universe to stream on their platform is highly unlikely. Though a lot of their demands sound reasonable on the surface, we have no idea the legal complications that it would take to have Netflix be able to publish their own original DC content.

Besides, I’m sure DC wouldn’t want to compete with an alternate version of their IP which clearly has a devoted (and dare I say, relentless) fanbase.

If you ask me, I think James Gunn should have handled this reboot with more finesse, waiting for the release of the final Snyder-canon properties to come out first before making his reboot announcement. Besides, I think the years of the devotion of the fanbase to this version of the characters should not have been disregarded, and now Gunn has to begin his DC run with a rocky start. If he just waited to close the chapter, I think we wouldn’t be having online shenanigans like #SellSnyderVerseToNetflix.

We don’t know how DC plans to move forward, but hopefully we get a detailed update soon. For now, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to release on March 17, 2023.

James Gunn has Met with Ben Affleck to Direct a DC Project https://www.geekfeed.com/gunn-has-met-with-ben-affleck-for-a-dc-project/ Mon, 19 Dec 2022 09:02:07 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72514 A lot of DC fans are still fuming at the news that James Gunn has decided to end Henry Cavill’s run as Superman, but he has extended an olive branch to someone else who had been wronged by the previous DC system.

Replying to a fan on Twitter, Gunn confirms that he has met with Ben Affleck to direct a DC project. We don’t know what project he could be thinking of, but I think it would be something closer to Batman.

Originally when the Snyder verse was just starting out, Ben Affleck was set to direct his own Batman movie that would have him going toe-to-toe with Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke. As you know, things eventually broke down and Matt Reeves was asked to direct a solo Batman movie with Affleck exiting the role.

Over the years, fans had hope that Affleck would get to play Batman one more time and things were looking up when he was cast in the Flash movie. With Gunn and Safran doing a full reboot of the DC Universe though, it looks like Affleck’s Dark Knight days are over.

We don’t know what could be in store for Gunn’s future DC franchise, but a clean slate would probably mean recasting for well-loved iterations of characters like Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn or Zachary Levi’s Shazam.

Who knows, maybe there’s a multiverse plan down the line, but as of now, DC fans are just going through the wringer.

The Flash Promo Photos Reveal Improvised Flash/Batman Suit https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-promo-photos-reveal-improvised-suit/ Tue, 06 Dec 2022 11:09:42 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72323 With the Flash solo movie said to have two different versions of Barry Allen, some shots have revealed that one Flash will be making their own suit out of a Batsuit that belongs to Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne. We don’t have an official look at it yet, but we do have some promotional material that could give us a look at this Batman/Flash costume.

Check this out:

While we’ve seen the new suit with the cowl, this is the first time we’ve seen most of the makeshift supersuit. The thunderbolt sprayed over the bat symbol was teased years before, but now we get to see that the ‘ears’ have been cut off the cowl, most of the suit is painted red, and some traffic stickers have been placed in some parts of the suit. I’m guessing the yellow bits on his head are supposed to headphones.

From Spider-Man’s homemade suit in Homecoming to Iron Man’s first suit that he built in the cave, I’m honestly a sucker for DIY superhero outfits. I love how they were able to make use of a Burton batsuit, and they gave it its own original flair that shows off the personality of the Flash.

Though Ezra Miller has been making some problematic headlines over the past few months, one thing remains constant with the test screenings, and it’s that audiences have had very positive reactions to the movie. Will The Flash eventually mark a new era for the DCEU, or will it go the way of Sony’s Morbius?

We’ll just have to wait and see.

The Flash is set to come to theaters June 23, 2023.
