Jeremy Renner – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com Entertainment News, Celebrities and Fandoms Thu, 11 May 2023 15:35:56 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://www.geekfeed.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/cropped-Geekfeed-Favicon-White-32x32.png Jeremy Renner – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com 32 32 Avengers Stars Secretly Visited Jeremy Renner After His New Year Accident https://www.geekfeed.com/avengers-stars-secretly-visited-jeremy-renner/ Thu, 11 May 2023 15:35:56 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76731 2023 had started with the news that Avengers star Jeremy Renner had gotten into a near-fatal accident, but months later, Renner is up and kicking, talking about his near-death experience.

While everyone was worried about Renner online, Variety reveals that his Avengers co-stars Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans actually made a low-key visit to Renner in the hospital after his accident. Johansson says:

“I was honestly so fucking happy to see him. I didn’t know if I was ever going to see him again… To not only see him again but to see him thriving and in such an amazing space, mentally. He’s a very spiritual person in general and a very soulful person. And you can see that in his work. It comes through. He has such a depth to him. And I just was so happy to see that he is full of life and light, and he’s also hilarious. We laughed a lot.”

Evans also shared, “No tears at all. A lot of laughs and smiles and hugs… Leave it to Jeremy to take something this potentially tragic and turn it into something so inspiring.”

Back in the New Year, Renner got into an accident saving his nephew who was stuck in a snowdrift, and it resulted to him being crushed by a 7-ton snowplow, breaking more than 30 bones in his body.

We don’t know the long-term effects of Renner’s injuries, but it surely is lucky that his Hawkeye character is already pretty much retired in the MCU. That doesn’t mean fans aren’t expecting him to make an appearance in a Marvel project down the line though.

For now, you can catch Renner in Hawkeye now streaming on Disney+.

Jeremy Renner Thanks Fans on His Road to Recovery https://www.geekfeed.com/jeremy-renner-thanks-fans-on-his-road-to-recovery/ Wed, 25 Jan 2023 14:41:44 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73053 The New Year didn’t start too great for Marvel fans when it was reported that Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner got into an accident with a snow plow, leaving him in critical condition. A lot of fans were worried for the Marvel star, but now he’s updated that he’s on the mend moving forward.

Here’s Renner’s post on Twitter:

Back when Renner’s accident was first reported, a lot of rumors were flying around from him losing both legs to the accident starting some kind of criminal investigation. Based on the photo, I guess it’s safe to say that Renner will be walking away from the incident in one piece; but we probably shouldn’t expect him to be jumping around as Hawkeye anytime soon.

Speaking of Hawkeye, the actor had already passed the torch on to Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop in his own show, with the tease that she would be taking the mantle. But since big events always need to happen in the movies, I think we’ll be seeing Clint Barton in the MCU maybe one or two more times. There’s probably no way they’re going to have Secret Wars and not have him appear (what with all the Robert Downey Jr. rumors flying around).

We don’t know when Renner’s next MCU appearance will be, but hopefully we’ll get to see Clint sooner rather than later.

Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Next 2 Mission: Impossible Films Reportedly Tom Cruise’s Last https://www.geekfeed.com/next-2-mission-impossible-films-reportedly-tom-cruises-last/ Wed, 09 Feb 2022 13:12:59 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64029 It’s been 26 years since we were introduced to Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, and with two more Mission: Impossible films underway, word has it that this could be Cruise’s final time portraying the legendary agent.

In a new report from Variety, it’s been said that the next two films will be sending off the character of Ethan Hunt. They specifically write, “the plan is for the seventh and eighth films to serve as a sendoff for Cruise’s Ethan Hunt character,” and they also say that the films will be the “culmination of the entire series.”

While the Mission: Impossible movies are definitely not Marvel films, they have managed to keep going for the past few years with solid entries every time. They don’t have any superheroes, but with every MI entry, you can bet there’s a crazy dangerous stunt/setpiece, and Cruise is going to be doing a lot of it himself.

With Tom Cruise turning 60 this year, there’s no way that he could keep playing the demanding role of Ethan Hunt forever. Maybe this way, he at least gets to send the character off with a bang. Should we expect someone else to take on the Mission: Impossible mantle with Cruise gone? It was said that they were trying to do that when Jeremy Renner came onboard during Ghost Protocol, but he definitely doesn’t have the same star status that Cruise had when he started working on these films. Sorry, Hawkeye.

Mission: Impossible 7 comes out July 14, 2023 and Mission: Impossible 8 hits theaters June 28, 2024.

Did Hawkeye just make an Arcane Reference? https://www.geekfeed.com/did-hawkeye-just-make-an-arcane-reference/ Thu, 02 Dec 2021 10:00:02 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=62734 Hailee Steinfeld has been killing it for the month of November, with appearances in Arcane and Dickinson. Now she stars as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye, and the latest episode may have just referenced another hit show that Steinfeld is on.

In the interrogation scene with the Tracksuit Mafia, one thug talks about the band Imagine Dragons. It’s such a coincidence that it’s that band that gets mentioned, because ID provides the intro music, Enemy for Netflix’s Arcane, where Steinfeld voices the part of main character Vi.

Just in case you haven’t checked out Arcane (which you totally should), here’s the intro:

Though Bumblebee wasn’t the most beloved Transformers entry, Steinfeld still continues to land some good shows, and she’s been delivering some great performances. People are raving about how fun Kate Bishop is to watch now, but Vi is also one of the fan-favorites to come out of Arcane; and the internet is just being flooded with fanart.

Now we just need an Emily Dickinson reference for the Steinfeld circle to be complete.

Though Hawkeye is the most low-profile character to get a Disney+ series, the series has been the most solid so far. Not only are the action sequences great, but the character work between Clint and Kate is fantastic. I can’t wait to see how everything comes together toward the end. I might even want a second season if the quality is kept up.

Catch Steinfeld on Hawkeye now on Disney+. She’s also in Dickinson on Apple TV and Arcane on Netflix.

Hawkeye will Allegedly To Give Kingpin Comic-Accurate Look https://www.geekfeed.com/hawkeye-will-allegedly-to-give-kingpin-comic-accurate-look/ Tue, 30 Nov 2021 01:40:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=62621 Rumors have already been flying around that Vincent D’Onofrio will be making his return as Kingpin in Disney+’s Hawkeye series, and after some leaked images of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s starting to feel more legit that Kingpin will be making an appearance. As it turns out, the Kingpin we’ll meet in Hawkeye could be significantly different to the one we’ve met in Netflix’s Daredevil.

As per insider Daniel RPK (via @BingeWatchThis_), Wilson Fisk a.k.a. the Kingpin will be CG enhanced to give him a more comic accurate look. Here’s the post:

While I’m certainly not expecting him to look exactly like Kingpin from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, I’m thinking they’re going to make D’Onofrio look more morbidly obese for the series—without requiring him to gain an unhealthy amount of weight. Though he was already pretty hefty for the Netflix show, the comic Kingpin is really more comically massive; I’m thinking something close to Stellan Skarsgård’s Baron Harkonnen in Dune.

So far, Hawkeye has been off to a good start. Without the promise of “introducing a Multiverse” or “Introducing mutants”, expectations are pretty low, and that’s kind of the entire approach, with the Christmas/buddy-cop feel of the series. Not to mention, the tandem of Clint Barton and Kate Bishop is fun to watch, and Hailee Steinfeld is definitely a likeable future Avenger. I can easily see her being a team leader, even competing with Holland’s Spider-Man who isn’t as dominant of a character.

We have no official confirmation of Kingpin yet, but you can watch Hawkeye now streaming on Disney+.

The First Hawkeye Trailer Promises a Holiday Action Comedy https://www.geekfeed.com/the-first-hawkeye-trailer-promises-a-holiday-action-comedy/ Tue, 14 Sep 2021 13:55:20 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=61473 Though he didn’t get his own solo movie, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is going to be in the spotlight with his upcoming series on Disney+.  We just got the first trailer, and it promises some holiday fun.

Watch the Hawkeye trailer here:

Here’s the official description:

Disney+ and Marvel Studios invite you on an unexpected holiday getaway, unwrapping a brand-new teaser trailer and poster today for “Hawkeye,” a new series set in post-blip New York City.

First off, the trailer pretty much confirms the holiday setting—which should be perfect when the series comes out later in the year. Another thing confirmed is the relationship between Barton and Bishop; while some thought that she would be some kind of secret protégé, the series reveals that Barton becomes some kind of reluctant mentor to a Hawkeye fan.

With WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki on the more serious side of things, I’m actually kind of refreshed to see Hawkeye embrace the action-comedy genre. While I’m sure there will be some room for some heavy moments, this trailer kind of promises that Marvel will be trying to diversify their entries moving forward.

Hawkeye premieres on Disney+ on Nov. 24.
