Just in, Empire has dropped a new look at Leto in costume, and we get a little more details about the upcoming sequel. Check this out:

Though it is disappointing that Daft Punk won’t be reuniting to provide the soundtrack, this film has managed to tap Nine Inch Nails to provide the songs this time around. Director Joachim Rønning explains:

“With Nine Inch Nails making the music, this instalment will be a little grittier, a little bit more industrial… It’s been important for me to contrast The Grid and the real world. In that sense, Nine Inch Nails lends itself perfectly into this new Tron world that we are creating.”

Just in case you weren’t familiar with the band, here’s one of their songs that sounds like it would very much jive with the overall mood of Tron:

It’s unclear what the story of Ares will be, but it’s said that it will be drawing from the original plans for Tron: Ascension which has something to do with the Grid coming to the ‘real world’. Leto is said to be playing Ares, a program that comes to our world and realizes that he doesn’t want to help destroy it. Rønning describes the theme of the film, “What I always look for in any story is a strong emotional core… This film will probably be more emotional than people are expecting. It’s about the cost of being human.”

Tron: Ares is set to come out in theatres on Oct. 10, 2025.

Masters of the Universe: Jared Leto Allegedly Offered Role of Skeletor https://www.geekfeed.com/jared-leto-allegedly-offered-role-of-skeletor/ Thu, 12 Sep 2024 20:16:55 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=84254 It may have taken a couple of years to get off the ground, but the live-action Masters of the Universe is finally moving forward, and it already has three principal cast members in the form of Nicholas Galitzine (He-Man), Camila Mendes (Teela), and Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn). Now word is going around that they’ve found someone to play one of the all-time pop-culture villains, Skeletor.

According to The InSneider (via @HollywoodHandle), Jared Leto (Morbius, Suicide Squad) has been offered the part of Skeletor, He-Man’s nemesis. No details have been revealed about the role, but with a franchise like He-Man, you can usually just expect Skeletor to be evil, have a lair full of henchmen, and have grandiose plans in taking over Eternia.

It’s worth noting that Travis Knight is at the helm of this movie, and he had brought another 80s franchise to the big screen with Bumblebee. Admittedly, that movie didn’t have the best story, but it still managed to reboot the Transformers timeline, and it established a new look for the Robots in Disguise.

When it comes to Masters of the Universe though, a live-action adaptation could be tricky. After all, most of its fans are adults in their 40s, and that comes with the price of having an over-critical fanbase whenever something is changed for an adaptation. Just look at what happened to Netflix’s animated revival of MOTU from Kevin Smith.

If anything, the movie should focus on being a jumping off point for kids in the franchise. After the success of Barbie, maybe He-Man could be Mattel’s next moneymaking movie. I know I’m just excited to see what kinds of toys are going to be released alongside the film.

The Masters of the Universe movie is expected to hit cinemas on June 5, 2026.

Jeff Bridges is Returning for TRON: Ares https://www.geekfeed.com/jeff-bridges-is-returning-for-tron-ares/ Fri, 03 May 2024 09:22:22 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82191 Jeff Bridges had kicked off the TRON franchise back in the ‘80s, and his character was ultimately given his sendoff in TRON: Legacy. We thought that Bridges was ultimately done with the Grid moving forward, but it looks like he’s going to be returning for the upcoming TRON: Ares.

Talking to the Film Comment Podcast (via Deadline), Bridges confirmed, “I’m heading off this Saturday to play a part in the third installment of the ‘Tron’ story. Jared Leto is the star of this third one. I’m really anxious to work with him; I’ve admired his work.”

Disney also shared this photo of Bridges, and if you look in the background, you’ll see his classic helmet from the original TRON:

It’s not clear who Bridges could be playing in Ares, but they could always say that his particles just reassembled somewhere else. With Flynn’s program Clu being the primary antagonist of Legacy, it’s possible that they could also find a way to bring him back to cause more chaos.

Then again, the ‘main’ villain of the franchise has always been Master Control and Ed Dillinger, so maybe Ares could be their chance to finally return to the main stage of TRON and become the antagonists that last film was clearly setting up.

Though Legacy wasn’t a critical darling, it was still a cult favorite for a lot of people, and fans have been waiting for years for this follow-up. Sure Jared Leto may not have been the ideal lead, but I’m willing to give Ares a chance to knock my socks off.

TRON: Ares is aiming for a release in Oct. 10, 2025.

TRON: Ares Set Photos Reveal Jared Leto in a New Light Suit https://www.geekfeed.com/tron-ares-photos-reveal-jared-leto-new-light-suit/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 10:00:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81966 Disney had already released an official photo of the lead character of TRON: Ares played by Jared Leto, and though we expect him to start out working for the villains, a lot are speculating that he will eventually turn to the side of the ‘users.’

What’s interesting is, some set photos from Ares have leaked online, and it looks like Leto will be wearing a new, updated light suit from the one we saw in the official promo image. Check this out:

https://twitter.com/mrknoxvilleYT/status/1779602338023460994

For context, here’s a look at the first suit that was revealed.

Looking back at TRON: Legacy, the light suits have mostly been skintight with some neon embelishments, but the suit we see Leto wearing in the set photo kind of harkens to a bulkier look that was sported by Sark in the original TRON. I’m wouldn’t be surprised if it came with some kind of matching helmet.

As for the plot of Ares, the movie is said to be picking up where Legacy left off, albeit through a different character’s lens. With Quorra the ISO (Olivia Wilde) making the jump from the Grid to the real world, it’s said that Leto’s program Ares will also be making the same jump, but we may see him have a change of heart—despite what his programming entails.

Thought Legacy may not have been the hit Disney was expecting, the movie still got a cult following, and a lot of fans had been waiting years for the sequel. Though we are getting a whole new cast, it would be great if we could get some returning faces from the previous films—even just an update on what Sam and Quorra were up to after Legacy.

TRON: Ares is set to release in theaters on Oct. 10, 2025.

Set Photos Reveal First Look at Jared Leto in TRON: Ares https://www.geekfeed.com/first-look-at-jared-leto-in-tron-ares/ Mon, 11 Mar 2024 15:02:52 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81411 It’s been more than a decade since Disney released TRON: Legacy, but now they’e confidently pushing forward with TRON: Ares—starring Jared Leto of all people.

So far, we only have one official promo image for the movie, but now some set photos have revealed Leto in costume walking around a regular human city. Check this out:

Unlike the first two films which had humans go into the digital world of the Grid, Ares is said to reverse the story in that Leto is playing a sophisticated computer program (named Ares) and is sent into the human world.

We don’t know who exactly Ares works for, but fans have spotted a ‘Dillinger’ logo on his official promo image. In the original film, Dillinger was the primary human antagonist who was working with Master Control. Clu ended up being the villain of Legacy, but Dillinger was teased with a cameo appearance by Cillian Murphy playing his son.

With Legacy ending up with Quorra (Olivia Wilde) going into the real-world, it did feel like this was going to be the natural progression of the story; but only this time, they’ve changed the ISO characters with Ares.

Who knows, maybe Ares is a secret ISO who doesn’t know about his identity, but seeing as a lot of people did like Legacy (despite the poor critical response), maybe it would be great if we can get an update on Sam and Quorra and how they changed the Grid since the last film.

No official release date has been set for TRON: Ares, but Disney is aiming for a 2025 release date.

Gillian Anderson Joins the Cast of TRON 3 https://www.geekfeed.com/gillian-anderson-joins-the-cast-of-tron-3/ Sat, 27 Jan 2024 17:19:08 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80747 After years in development hell, the third TRON movie is finally undergoing production, and we have a cast that includes the likes of Jared Leto, Cameron Monaghan, Evan Peters, and Greta Lee.

What’s interesting is, one more actress has joined the cast of the film, but her role is yet to be revealed.

As per Deadline, Gillian Anderson (X-Files, Sex Education, Hannibal) has joined the cast of TRON: Ares. We don’t have much details on who Anderson is going to be playing in the movie, but with her joining the cast at this stage, I imagine that she’s going to be providing the voice of the new Master Control Program—one of the main villains in the original TRON.

In TRON: Legacy, there was no trace of Master Control in the Grid, but we did have a cameo of one Edward Dillinger played by Cillian Murphy. He was expected to have a larger role in the sequel that never happened, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney finally decided to pull on that thread with Ares and have a new Dillinger cooperating with a new version of Master Control.

Then again, this is just speculation on my part. I would much rather have Anderson in full costume as a digital kook like Michael Sheen’s Zuse, but I wouldn’t mind just hearing her voice a menacing red hourglass with a silly face like the first movie.

No release date has been set for TRON: Ares, but Disney is said to be aiming for a 2025 release.

TRON 3 Starring Jared Leto has Started Filming https://www.geekfeed.com/tron-3-starring-jared-leto-has-started-filming/ Wed, 24 Jan 2024 04:19:41 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80692 It was back in 2020 when it was reported that Jared Leto had been attached to star in a follow-up to TRON: Legacy, and after multiple delays including a pandemic and the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, production for the film is finally happening.

Here’s our first tease for TR3N:

It is worth noting that the original start of the film would have been August of last year, and this was confirmed by director Joachim Rønning. We know that the movie had been in development hell since Legacy, but it had started moving forward until the strike last year.

It’s unclear what the title of the film really is at this point, with the working title TRON: Ares being bounced around the news web. It’s possible the film won’t be picking up from the events of TRON: Legacy, but that movie did tease the digital creatures from the Grid making the jump to the real world—and the movie also had Cillian Murphy setting up a future villain.

With production finally starting, we should expect to see more of the film in a few months. With Legacy ending up becoming a visual feast, we should expect the third film to have the same kind of visual flair with the visual effects technology we have from today. Even the original TRON was praised for being a technical feat when it comes to VFX.

No official release date has been announced for the next TRON movie, but fans are expecting a theatrical release sometime around 2025.

Suicide Squad Director Breaks Down Difference Between Theatrical Movie and His Original Vision https://www.geekfeed.com/suicide-squad-director-on-his-original-vision/ Fri, 05 Jan 2024 17:26:03 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80368 Zack Snyder may have been able to release his version of Justice League on Max, but Suicide Squad director David Ayer is still campaigning one for the release of his original version of his DCEU movie; which was said to have been heavily edited after the poor reception Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

#ReleaseTheAyerCut may go trending every once in a while, and Ayer has recently shared another breakdown of everything WB had cut from his darker version of Suicide Squad. Here’s his post:

We don’t know exactly what went down at WB when they decided to change the cut of the film, but it was said that after the divisive reaction of BvS, they decided to get Trailer Park, a studio that specialized in trailers, and who also provided the Bohemian Rhapsody trailer of the movie, to cut the film to what is known as the theatrical version.

The closest thing that fans got to what Ayer considers his version of the movie was the first look that was released at SDCC Comic-Con—way before the release of Batman v Superman.

We don’t know if James Gunn and Peter Safran will eventually let Ayer release his version of the movie, but Ayer seems to have been very vocal lately, so maybe he knows something we don’t. Personally, I’m always on the side of the creatives being able to release what they originally wanted, so I say #ReleaseTheAyerCut and give us Jared Leto’s intended take on the Joker.

David Ayer Shares New Image of Jared Leto’s Joker from His Suicide Squad https://www.geekfeed.com/new-image-of-jared-letos-joker-suicide-squad/ Mon, 18 Dec 2023 10:47:41 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80165 Ever since Zack Snyder was able to release his version of Justice League, Suicide Squad director David Ayer has also been campaigning for the release of his original take on Suicide Squad. We don’t know if James Gunn will ever make the “Ayer Cut” see the light of day, but Ayer is still at it online.

Just recently, he shared an image of Jared Leto’s Joker from development with “hahaha” eyebrow tattoos. Check this out:

https://twitter.com/DavidAyerMovies/status/1736455762506101177

We don’t know if this version was ever supposed to be in the movie, but it could make sense in the timeline for Joker to have a different look depending on where we are in the story. What I really loved about the film is that it was a very original take on Joker, and based on what Ayer has been sharing about the character, audiences have yet to see Leto’s ‘real’ performance as the Clown Prince of Crime.

It’s unclear exactly what happened behind the scenes, but Ayer’s Suicide Squad was said to have been heavily modified after WB heads panicked when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice got divisive reviews. Originally, the film was supposed to have a much darker, serious tone; but it was all changed to be more upbeat and funny to have more audience appeal. The closest thing we have to the cut is said to be the SDCC preview that came out back in 2016:

We don’t know if Gunn will eventually concede to having Ayer release his version, but I am always up for director’s releasing what they originally intended; just like what happened with Zack Snyder.

For now, DC is set to start their major reboot in 2025 with James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy.

TRON 3 Director on the WGA and SAG AFTRA Strike Delaying the Movie https://www.geekfeed.com/tron-3-director-on-the-wga-and-sag-aftra-strike/ Thu, 17 Aug 2023 06:43:41 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78264 A lot of people were excited when it was finally announced that TRON 3 was going to move forward, but thanks to the strike from the WGA and SAG AFTRA, most productions are currently at a standstill—including TRON 3.

Just in, director Joachim Rønning has confirmed that the film should have started shooting already had it not been for the strike. In a recent IG post he writes, “Today was supposed to be our first day of principal photography on TRON: ARES (a movie subsequently about AI and what it means, and takes, to be human). Instead, we are shut down with over a hundred and fifty people laid off. It’s indefinite, which makes it exponentially harder for everyone.

We don’t exactly know what the plot for TRON: Ares was going to be, but it was said that Jared Leto would be a program that would find itself in the human world, kind of drawing from the original plans of the sequel for TRON: Legacy, where the world of the grid would find its way into the real world; it was also said that Cillian Murphy’s character would also have a larger role this time around.

Besides Leto, the movie had also cast Evan Peters, Greta Lee, and Jodie Turner-Smith.

While the fate of the movie is now up in the air because of the strike, it does seem that Ronning is not choosing as side when it comes to the entire issue (such was the stance of the Director’s Guild). He writes, “The AMPTP, SAG-AFTRA and WGA need to not leave the table until it’s done. This is Hollywood. We close deals for breakfast. Why do we suddenly have all the time in the world when every day is so precious? These tactics are extremely frustrating. It’s time for diplomacy so we can get back to work – under conditions that are fair to everybody.”

No official release date has been set for TRON: Ares, but it was eyeing a premiere in 2025.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Star Joins Tron: Ares https://www.geekfeed.com/star-wars-jedi-survivor-star-joins-tron-ares/ Sat, 15 Jul 2023 17:54:17 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77817 Star Wars fans know Cameron Monaghan best as the face of Star Wars Jedi protagonist Cal Kestis, but Monaghan is going to be appearing in another sci-fi property under the Disney banner soon.

Deadline reports that Monaghan has joined the cast of Tron: Ares, the next entry in the Tron franchise directed by Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil). No details have been revealed about Monaghan’s character, but he will be joining a cast that includes Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, and Jodie Turner-Smith.

While Disney hasn’t released an official synopsis for the movie yet, it’s rumored that the character of Leto is said to be a computer program named Ares which will find his way into the real world.

In Tron: Legacy, it was revealed that there were purely digital creatures called ISOs that spawned from the Grid, and it was said that the sequel was going to deal with the digital world coming to the real one. While it does seem like they’ll be exploring the concept with Tron: Ares, it does look like we’re going to get another ground-up sequel reboot with the story.

Then again, despite the critics, there was still a lot of demand for a sequel to Legacy, and maybe Ares can address what happened to Olivia Wilde’s ISO character after she was sent to the real world. Hopefully they don’t tragically write her off like Shia LaBeouf’s Mutt in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

As of now, Tron: Ares is eyeing a release in 2025.

Follow Rosario Dawson as She Gives a Tour of the Haunted Mansion Ride a Disney World https://www.geekfeed.com/dawson-guides-haunted-mansion-ride-a-disney-world/ Sat, 15 Jul 2023 16:20:13 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77787 Disney+ is currently hyping up the release of Ahsoka starring Rosario Dawson, but the Daredevil vet is also set to star in the remake of Haunted Mansion which is set to come out later this month. Just in, Disney Parks has released a new video of Dawson giving a tour of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney World, and she reveals what attractions made it to the upcoming film.

Watch this:

Rosario Dawson recently stopped by Walt Disney World and served as your ghost host for a personal tour of the Haunted Mansion attraction. From the intricate details of the wallpaper to the famous sinister stretching room, see how her experience resembles the house she owns in the the upcoming The Walt Disney Studios film, Haunted Mansion, materializing into theaters on July 28th.

Disney had originally tried to make a Haunted Mansion movie back in 2003 trying to replicate the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, but even the star power of Eddie Murphy wasn’t able to save the film from dismal reviews.

We don’t know exactly how they plan to shake things up with the upcoming remake, but it seems that the movie is going to be leaning in on a star-studded cast playing all sorts of kooky ghostbusting characters, like a kid-friendly Knives Out with ghosts and ghouls.

Haunted Mansion is set to release in theaters on July 28.

Watch: Jeff Bridges’ TRON Joke Goes Over Everyone’s Heads https://www.geekfeed.com/jeff-bridges-tron-joke-goes-over-everyones-heads/ Thu, 01 Jun 2023 15:56:10 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77018 Jeff Bridges has several iconic roles under his belt, but sci-fi fans know him best for his role as Kevin Flynn is Disney’s TRON.

In a recent appearance in THR’s Round Table, Jeff Bridges actually makes a joke about being sucked into a video game with TRON, and everyone else on the table kind of just missed his spot-on reference. Watch this:

Though the people on the table missed the reference, everyone else online definitely caught the joke, and has been poking fun at the table for not getting Bridges’ TRON joke:

https://twitter.com/hozseoks/status/1662900635220549634

https://twitter.com/cmclymer/status/1662159004552839171

For now, it looks like Bridges’ TRON days are over, but Disney definitely has plans to keep making more movies; if they can only get the project off the ground. Though Legacy was supposed to set the stage for a trilogy of TRON films, it looks like Disney is going to go back to square one with a project called TRON: Ares starring Jared Leto.

Here’s the synopsis for the original TRON:

A computer hacker is abducted into the digital world and forced to participate in gladiatorial games where his only chance of escape is with the help of a heroic security program.

There hasn’t been that many updates on Ares over the past few months, but with all of Disney’s advancements with VFX and director Joachim Rønning hired last January, maybe we could be getting an update on the movie soon, hopefully during this year’s D23 Expo.

As of now, no release date has been set for TRON: Ares starring Jared Leto.

Jared Leto is the Hatbox Ghost in New Trailer for Haunted Mansion https://www.geekfeed.com/jared-leto-in-new-trailer-for-haunted-mansion/ Wed, 17 May 2023 18:04:51 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76833 We know that Jared Leto is expected to be the lead of the next Tron movie from Disney, but he’s signed on to play the villain in the upcoming re-adaptation of Disney’s Haunted Mansion ride.

A new trailer just dropped for the movie, and it showcases a star-studded cast and some kid-friendly spooks. Watch this:

The synopsis reads:

Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, “Haunted Mansion” is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters.

Besides Leto, the movie also includes Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, Owen Wilson, Dan Levy, and Jamie Lee Curtis. I’m also expecting some celebrities to cameo as the ghosts, but hopefully doesn’t go full Star Wars or Marvel and keeps everything in the context of the movie.

Disney had attempted to make a Haunted Mansion movie back in 2003 with Eddie Murphy, riding off the success of Pirates of the Caribbean, but the film never really took off. We don’t know what they’re doing different with this story, but I am open to Disney trying to bring back the kid-friendly horror films in the vein of Jumanji or Ghostbusters.

Haunted Mansion comes to theaters on July 28. You’d think it would have been the perfect Halloween film, but maybe the summer could use some family-friendly horror this year.

Tron: Ares Starring Jared Leto Finds Director https://www.geekfeed.com/tron-ares-starring-jared-leto-finds-director/ Mon, 23 Jan 2023 14:11:30 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73026 It’s been barely a year since we got an update on the Tron movie starring Jared Leto, but it looks like Disney is finally moving forward with the project.

According to Deadline, the studio is now in early negotiations with director Joachim Rønning to direct cinema’s return to The Grid. Rønning himself is actually a Disney vet, having worked on films like Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The movie is aiming for a start this August in Vancouver.

I’ll admit, Maleficent 2 and POTC 5 aren’t really projects that had me on the edge of my seat, but both films have been huge spectacles, and I think that’s what Disney wants to do with Tron as well. Saywhat you will about Tron: Legacy, but even if the entire narrative wasn’t that great, the visuals of that film introduced a while new cinematic aesthetic that’s still being referenced today. Hopefully Rønning is up to the task to take everything up to the next level.

For now, fans are kind of perplexed that the next Tron movie won’t pick up where Legacy left off. There has been fan demand for a sequel for years, but we got nothing from Disney. It was said that the sequel would have the world of the Grid going to the ‘real world’ with Cillian Murphy set to play the main antagonist. We don’t know where Ares would want to go, but I’m hoping they push the story forward rather than make it another prequel.

You think Daft Punk will be willing to reunite for the soundtrack?

No release date has been announced for Tron: Ares, but if production is set to start in August, I think we can expect a 2025 release date.

Barry Keoghan Says He Did a Lot of ‘Back Work’ on His Version of Joker https://www.geekfeed.com/barry-keoghan-did-a-lot-of-back-work-on-his-joker/ Mon, 16 Jan 2023 15:26:42 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72926 Barry Keoghan was supposed to have a larger role as Joker in The Batman, but his role was cut into a small cameo. Nevertheless, the deleted scene was released online, and we got a glimpse of what his Clown Prince of Crime would be like.

We don’t know when Keoghan will get the spotlight as the Joker, but he did say he’s excited to come back as the character. Talking to Happy Sad Confused (via The Direct), Keoghan explained:

“Obviously I’d love another crack. I’ve got a ton of back work done on him. If an opportunity does arise but, you know, they make the call, and I’ve got to respect that.”

Though there’s only one scene of Keoghan in The Batman, the scene sets up the relationship between the two characters, with the Joker obviously romanticizing his relationship with the Dark Knight, and Batman clearly acknowledging that Joker could be smarter than himself.

It’s also worth noting that this Joker’s origin isn’t acid or some facial scarring, but rather his face is in a permanent smile because of a disease. We can see it in bits here:

There’s definitely a lot of backstory to fill with this version of the character, and while I expect it to be a while before we get the next Batman film, I hope they don’t wait too long to put Keoghan’s version in the forefront. I mean, even Jared Leto didn’t get to fully express his version. Keoghan continues:

“Definitely. Definitely. Definitely, because I’ve got a few other things I’d love to bring. Actually, I have this little half-Moleskin book I’ve written a lot in already and so yeah, I want to show people what that is.”

We probably won’t get the next Batman movie until 2025, but hopefully Keoghan will be onboard to continue his plans for his Clown Prince of Crime.

Jared Leto Open for another Joker Return https://www.geekfeed.com/jared-leto-open-for-another-joker-return/ Sun, 20 Mar 2022 16:59:03 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64497 Though Ben Affleck may be done playing the Batman for DC, the guy who plays his onscreen nemesis is a lot more welcome to a comeback. After a short stint as the Joker in Suicide Squad and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Jared Leto says he would be open to playing the Clown Prince of Crime again.

Talking to Variety, Leto was asked about playing the Joker back in 2016, to which he replies, “That role was an opportunity of a lifetime… And I got a chance to do it twice.” When he was asked if he was open to taking on the role again for Warner Bros, Leto said, “Never say never.”

Back when the DCEU was starting, it looked like Leto and Affleck were signed on for another epic clash as the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince, but some serious studio meddling has led to a franchise overhaul, and the original plans were left on the cutting room floor.

If anything, Suicide Squad director David Ayer has been very open about wanting to release his version of the film, and he promises that Leto’s “true” Joker performance was never seen by the public, and that it would have been better received compared to what we got in the theatrical cut.

With Leto not really having the time to take his characterization of the Joker to the next level, he adds, “For me, [the characters I play are] like living, breathing people… I know they’re not, of course, but I get attached. It’s a shame to never do it again.”

For now, it looks like WB is very keen on sweeping ‘The Snyderverse’ under the rug, but if Zack Snyder’s Justice League can get released, fans are hoping that #ReleaseTheAyerCut can work too.

In the meantime, you can catch The Batman now in theaters.

Final Trailer for Morbius has More Vulture https://www.geekfeed.com/final-trailer-for-morbius-has-more-vulture/ Wed, 02 Mar 2022 09:51:56 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64280 The first teaser for Morbius had teased an appearance from Michael Keaton’s Vulture, but it looks like he could have a larger role than expected for the actual film.

If you watch the final trailer for Morbius, it looks like Adrian Toomes may actually be acting like some kind of mentor for the troubled Michael Morbius. Check this out:

If anything, the trailer feels like it forgot who Keaton was in Spider-Man: Homecoming with the way he’s talking to Morbius. From the everyman character who turned to crime in order to salvage his business, Toomes is now saying lines about ‘becoming who you’re meant to be.’ If you ask me, that’s more of something Batman would say.

With the multiple delays that Morbius has been going through, fans are admittedly feeling confused about getting hyped for this film. If anything, it’s like Black Widow, which appropriately built on the hype; but it eventually felt exhausting, seeing as the movie was delayed for more than a year till it came out on Disney+.

While I certainly don’t like movies to fail, a lot of fans have been expressing their skepticism when it comes to Morbius. If anything, it could end up like Venom—critically reviled, yet a box office hit. What does the Chinese box office feel about vampires?

One of the most compelling and conflicted characters in Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?

Catch Morbius when it finally hits theaters on April 1.

Jared Leto Shares a New Poster for Morbius https://www.geekfeed.com/jared-leto-shares-a-new-poster-for-morbius/ Thu, 10 Feb 2022 13:47:14 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64053 After Venom 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony is set to come back to its Spider-Verse with Jared Leto’s Morbius. The film is set to come out this April, and we have a new poster courtesy of Leto’s Twitter.

Check it out:

With Jared Leto himself being such a personality, you kind of forget that other actors like Matt Smith and Jared Harris are also in the film. You also kind of miss Michael Keaton’s Vulture, who a lot of fans were expecting to be in No Way Home, but was nowhere to be seen.

It’s unclear where Morbius stays in the MCU timeline, because he does know about Venom, but Keaton’s Vulture exists in his universe. Since No Way Home confirmed that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker exists in another reality, maybe the Spider-Man in Morbius’ world is someone else entirely. A lot of people are hoping for Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, but I’m going to wait and see what kind of explanation Sony has when this movie releases.

New House of Gucci Trailer Pits Lady Gaga Against Adam Driver and His Star-Studded Family https://www.geekfeed.com/new-house-of-gucci-trailer-pits-lady-gaga-against-adam-driver-and-his-star-studded-family/ Wed, 03 Nov 2021 16:32:02 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=62219 Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel may not have done so hot in the box office, but Scott is still ready to get people in seats with his next movie, House of Gucci. The film features a star-studded cast including Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, and an unrecognizable Jared Leto; and we have a new trailer to hype up the Thanksgiving release.

Watch the trailer down here:

Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.

Like The Last Duel, House of Gucci is actually based on a true story, and if you don’t want the film spoiled, you should just up and avoid searching for the plot on the internet; on the other hand, the film is based on a book by Sara Gay Forden called The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.

With American Crime Story delving into the assassination of Gianni Versace, I’m starting to get curious on how much scandalous murder is going around in the world of high fashion. I mean, was Zoolander trying to reveal a pattern?

Ultimately, House of Gucci looks to be an intense family drama about wealth and power, not unlike HBO’s Succession; and I’m excited to see these stars clash onscreen. I have to say Adam Driver certainly has a penchant for playing characters who are going through rough marriages.

House of Gucci is set to hit theaters on Nov. 24.
