Hugh Jackman – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com Entertainment News, Celebrities and Fandoms Sun, 20 Oct 2024 04:50:11 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://www.geekfeed.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/cropped-Geekfeed-Favicon-White-32x32.png Hugh Jackman – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com 32 32 Fans Wants Saturday Night’s John Belushi to be the New Wolverine https://www.geekfeed.com/fans-wants-john-belushi-to-be-the-new-wolverine/ Sun, 20 Oct 2024 04:50:11 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=84846 We know that Marvel Studios wants Hugh Jackman to stick around as Wolverine a bit more, but some have been hoping that a new person would take up the Wolverine role. While names like Taron Egerton and Daniel Radcliffe have been thrown around for years, there is a fresh face that fans think could be perfect—and he looks an awful lot like John Belushi.

A post on Twitter suggesting that Matt Wood, who plays Belushi in Jason Reitman’s SNL biopic Saturday Night, could be the perfect Wolverine for the MCU. Not only does he look gruff, but he’s also a bit on the short side—which is what fans have been wanting from Wolverine for a long time.

The post has already managed to earn more than 16,000 likes on Twitter, and more are now warming up to the idea of Wood playing the part.

When it comes to MCU films, the franchise usually picks lesser-known actors to commit for big roles—that’s what they did with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth (Chris Evans was already pretty famous). With Wood very much expected to be a rising star after Saturday Night, having him sign on as Wolverine now would definitely be a great pick for Marvel.

That’s kind of like the jackpot they got when they had Florence Pugh commit to a role like Yelena Belova; but I guess nobody knew that she was just going to rocket to fame after Black Widow.

I think it’s also fitting that fans would pick a John Belushi lookalike for the role of Wolverine, since the very first ever Saturday Night Live skit starred Belushi and it was called, surprisingly, The Wolverines. Check this out:

Though I do agree that Jackman is a great Wolverine, I am in the camp of fans that wants to put nostalgia in the backburner and introduce some new creatives when it comes to Marvel. It’s probably going to take a few more years, but I hope Feige and his team are ready to move forward after Secret Wars.

In the meantime, catch Wood in Saturday Night now showing in theatres.

Sequel to Deadpool and Wolverine already in the Works? https://www.geekfeed.com/sequel-to-deadpool-and-wolverine-in-the-works/ Wed, 16 Oct 2024 18:23:29 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=84757 It was no secret that Deadpool and Wolverine was a huge hit. After several misfires on Marvel’s side, they finally got to a billion again after the latest superhero team-up movie involving Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

It’s said that the two are expected to rest on their laurels for a while after the success of the movie, but it looks like Marvel is already excited to keep the Logan/Wade train going.

According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH (via @Marvel_Updates_) a fourth Deadpool movie is already being discussed, and Reynolds and Jackman were said to have expressed interest in returning. In a previous report from June, it was also said that Deadpool 4 was going to release after the end of the Multiversal Saga (probably after Avengers: Secret Wars), and Deadpool becomes a ‘staple character’ in the MCU alongside the mutants and the Fantastic Four.

We don’t know how much to trust this news yet since MTTSH has had some misfires in the past, but after the insane success of Deadpool and Wolverine, it’s no surprise that Marvel Studios is already looking ahead and wanting to work fast before Jackman decides that he’s too old to keep playing Wolverine again.

Personally, I’ve always been in the camp that believes that the MCU should just bring in a new Wolverine, but if Jackman is going to hang around for a while, they might as well make the best of it while they can. As for Reynolds, I imagine DP is a pretty easy role for him. After all, a lot of the action can just be done by a stunt double in a mask, and Reynolds can just dub his voice over and show his heavily made-up face once in a while—kind of like Pedro Pascal in The Mandalorian.

No official update has been made for the next Deadpool movie, but hopefully Marvel doesn’t rely too much on nostalgia with the next one.

WATCH: How Deadpool and Wolverine Pulled Off Cassandra Nova’s Powers https://www.geekfeed.com/deadpool-and-wolverine-cassandra-novas-powers/ Sat, 31 Aug 2024 18:55:52 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=84044 Every comic book villain has got to have a schtick, and Deadpool and Wolverine’s Cassandra Nova has a very interesting way of showcasing her powers when she would physically invade someone’s mind.

The effect can get pretty unnerving when you watch it, and Marvel Entertainment has just released a BTS look at how exactly they pulled it off for the movie. Check this out:

Get a behind-the-scenes look at how Cassandra Nova’s fingers go under people’s skin and in their minds, with Deadpool & Wolverine VFX Supervisor Swen Gillberg.

Though the movie did shoot some references of the actors playing out the roles, a lot of the effect was actually brought to life with full CG models. As it turns out, when Cassandra is tormenting Paradox in the film, it’s actually a full CG head that we’re seeing get messed up onscreen.

On the other hand though, sometimes the movie will just replace one part with CG—like the moment where Cassandra pokes into Wolverine’s head; they only ended up replacing Hugh Jackman’s forehead digitally for that scene.

With more and more reveals just coming out for Deadpool and Wolverine, we should expect Marvel to drop some more interesting behind-the-scenes looks before the movie actually gets a home release. Besides the legacy heroes and this VFX shot, there’s so much more the movie could delve into, like the new costumes or the characters they kept from the Fox universe.

I’m just here hoping for a specific timeline breakdown of where everyone is from and how they’re going to connect to the overall MCU.

Ryan Reynolds Shares New Images of Dogpool https://www.geekfeed.com/ryan-reynolds-shares-new-images-of-dogpool/ Fri, 16 Aug 2024 06:59:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83758 Deadpool and Wolverine may have had the relationship between Wade and Logan at the center, but the movie still managed to have the spotlight on several side characters. We already got multiple reveals for characters like Gambit, Blade, and Elektra, but Ryan Reynolds has shared a new photo of a particularly special Deadpool variant—Dogpool.

Check these new Dogpool photos out:

Admittedly Dogpool doesn’t really do anything active in the story, but she does make for a lot of great comic relief; particularly with Reynolds who doesn’t seem to mind having the dog continuously frenching him in the movie. It’s also Deadpool’s infatuation with Dogpool that is at the very core of his hate for “Nicepool” and once the film got rid of him, Dogpool was then free to stay with Deadpool Prime.

For now, it’s unclear what Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios wants to do with Deadpool. After all the hype surrounding the Wolverine team-up, it does seem that Reynolds and the crew are just resting on their laurels for now before they think of what to do next.

If anything, fans are sure that Deadpool and Wolverine are going to have something to do with Avengers: Secret Wars, then after that, Marvel would be ready to reboot the X-Men and introduce a whole new team.

I mean, I know there are a lot of people who love Hugh Jackman as Logan, but there’s just no way the character can keep going if they just keep sticking to him for the next few years. Even the Robert Downey Jr. announcement rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way.

Catch Deadpool and Wolverine now showing in theatres.

Deadpool and Wolverine Director Shares Scrapped Variants https://www.geekfeed.com/deadpool-and-wolverine-scrapped-variants/ Thu, 15 Aug 2024 05:53:15 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83732 Not only was Deadpool and Wolverine full of cameos of Marvel legacy characters, but there was also an army of variants for central characters like Deadpool and Wolverine.

While the show had given fans an army of Deadpools, we also got a bunch of different Wolverines around the multiverse as well; but unfortunately, not all of them were able to make the cut.

Talking to Happy Sad Confused, director Shawn Levy confirms that one Wolverine variant that didn’t make the cutting room floor was a literal wolverine. “We really really wanted an actual wolverine—the animal—and he would maul Deadpool. But we came up with that idea too late to do a convincing digital wolverine,” he explained.  But even if they didn’t get to do the gag for the film, Levy continued, “That one’s in my back pocket should I need one for any sequels.”

Though the yellow and blue suit was in the center of all the marketing, the movie actually featured all kinds of variant costumes including the brown and yellow suit from the comic as well as a Wolverine with one hand from the Age of Apocalypse storyline.

Levy shares about the process of picking variants, “As we were developing that sequence, we invited everybody to pitch ideas, so that meant the Marvel Visual Development Department, that meant the storyboard artists, costume designers—and so we got this grab bag of suggestions and ended up choosing the John Burn kind of old school Wolvies in there too.

“We got this grab bag of Wolverine variants that felt so satisfying and really was a brainchild of a big group collaboration and that is the fun—to me—of making movies.”

Though there were some fans hoping that Marvel would fully reboot the X-Men, it looks like Hugh Jackman’s version of Wolverine is going to stick around for a few more years—at least until Avengers: Secret Wars.

I honestly love how Hugh Jackman embodied the character over the course of decades, but I’m honestly ready for someone new to take on the role.

Henry Cavill Shares Official Look at His Deadpool and Wolverine Cameo; Throws Shade at Justice League https://www.geekfeed.com/cavill-shares-deadpool-and-wolverine-cameo/ Thu, 08 Aug 2024 10:09:28 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83653 Henry Cavill may have lost his chance to return as Superman, but he did get to have a bit of fun in the MCU for a few seconds as a Wolverine variant.

With leaks going around online like wildfire, Cavill has decided to officially share a look at him as Logan in costume—complete with cigar. Check this out:

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Henry Cavill (@henrycavill)

It’s funny because the caption, “To be safe, I shaved the moustache off for this one. Just the moustache,” is a jab at him working on Justice League. Infamously, he was told he wasn’t allowed to shave of his moustache for the reshoots, and the studio was forced to spend millions to have the facial hair digitally removed—and it didn’t even look great in the final product.

As for his appearance in Wolverine, this would probably lead to a lot of fans demanding that Cavill play the MCU Wolverine moving forward. With his Warhammer series possibly going into creative limbo, maybe Cavill can be free enough to actually have a solid spot in the MCU; but it’s possible that he’s still too closely tied to Superman so Marvel may want someone else to really embody the role.

I really just hope that Deadpool’s joke about Jackman ‘doing this until he’s 90’ isn’t going to be taken seriously by any of the Marvel execs. As for Cavill, fingers are crossed that he manages to nab a role that will treat him right soon.

Catch Deadpool and Wolverine now in theatres.

Hugh Jackman Recreates Wolverine Meme to Celebrate Success of Deadpool 3 https://www.geekfeed.com/wolverine-meme-to-celebrate-success-of-deadpool-3/ Wed, 31 Jul 2024 17:51:43 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83577 The Deadpool movies have been applauded for their marketing campaign for each film, and with Deadpool and Wolverine, the PR team is still up to the same internet shenanigans.

To celebrate the movie actually getting #1 at the worldwide box office, Marvel Studios has shared an image of Hugh Jackman recreating the infamous Wolverine meme of him holding up a framed photo. Check this out:

And since this is still a Deadpool movie, they’ve also recreated the meme with Deadpool holding up his own framed photo:

Just for context, here’s the original meme from the animated X-Men series:

There was actually a video of the meme released as well, but instead of Logan caressing the photo, he just tosses it away.

@marvel Picture’s worth a thousand memes. #DeadpoolAndWolverine #HughJackman #CapCut ♬ original sound – Marvel Entertainment

It’s actually kind of feels like they shot this scene for the movie, but since the film was already chockfull of all kinds of cameos and references, the appearance of this meme could have been a tad overkill. It does make for fun internet fodder though.

Despite some negative reactions, the box office has spoken, and Deadpool and Wolverine looks to be the hit that Marvel Studios was looking for. With the Avengers: Doomsday announcement and this movie’s overall vibe, it does seem like Marvel is now fully leaning into nostalgia; but I am hoping that the Russos and Kevin Feige know that it’s way better to prioritize a good story than just hoping fans will point and clap when someone familiar is onscreen.

Star Wars had to learn that lesson the hard way.

Blake Lively Confirms She was on Deadpool and Wolverine Set https://www.geekfeed.com/blake-lively-was-on-deadpool-and-wolverine-set/ Wed, 24 Jul 2024 13:35:25 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83458 CONFIRMED: As per the official credits of Deadpool and Wolverine, Blake Lively is indeed playing Lady Deadpool.

There’s been a lot of speculation on who could be appearing in Deadpool and Wolverine, and a lot of fans have guessed that Lady Deadpool, who is definitely appearing in the film, is played by Ryan Reynolds’ irl wife Blake Lively.

While nothing official has been confirmed, a set photo shared by Lively is fuelling the rumors that she could have an appearance in the film. Check this out:

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Blake Lively (@blakelively)

Of course, it’s possible that she couldn’t be appearing, but some guess it could be like a Mandalorian situation where Lady Deadpool doesn’t remove her mask, but she speaks in Lively’s voice.

With the movie expected to have cameos and appearances from characters all across Marvel’s cinematic history, an appearance from Lively as a Deadpool Variant seems like the something that could be on the everyone’s wishlist—especially Reynolds himself. I mean, he practically willed this team-up with Hugh Jackman over the past few years; even managing to get a little story out of his supposed final appearance as Wolverine in Logan.

Going back to the Deadpool variants though, we know that there’s going to be Ladypool, Headpool, Dogpool, and Kidpool. There has been a teaser of a Cowboypool in the preview, and set photos seem to confirm that there will also be a “Handsome Deadpool” played by a non-made up Ryan Reynolds in a wig.

I’ll admit, I have been worried this movie is just going to be a cameo fest like Spider-Man: No Way Home, but after the last trailer, it does look like there are real emotional stakes for both Logan and Wade.

Catch Deadpool and Wolverine when it comes to cinemas on July 26.

New Deadpool & Wolverine Preview Teases the Deadpool Corps. https://www.geekfeed.com/deadpool-wolverine-teases-the-deadpool-corps/ Thu, 18 Jul 2024 10:37:31 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83350 Ryan Reynolds may have briefly joined the Green Lantern Corps, but now he’s set to have his own Deadpool Corps. in Deadpool & Wolverine.

A new teaser just dropped for the film, and it gives us a glimpse at all the alternate versions of Deadpool including Ladypool and Dogpool in full costume. Check this out:

It’s unclear how the Deadpool Corps will factor into the story, but with DP claiming that he’s become the Marvel Jesus of the multiverse, it would make sense that alternate versions of Deadpool would also be called to do the same thing—after all, being an unkillable professional assassin can be very useful.

The marketing for the film has admittedly been very sparing, but this teaser gives us a look at a bunch of different characters including Blind Al, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Yukio. Even Peter a.k.a. Sugar Bear gets an appearance in this film.

There’s been a lot of hype surrounding the movie, saying that this will definitely get the Marvel franchise back on its feet after a series of duds, but there are also some that are worried that it’s just going to be a cameo-fest with Disney spending as much as it can to bring back forgotten characters from 20 years ago.

With director Shawn Levy at the helm though, I am hoping we get something that also has a great story. If he can deliver Stranger Things which is full of nostalgia, but still fun—maybe he can capture the same kind of lightning in a bottle with Deadpool & Wolverine.

Watch out for Deadpool & Wolverine when it comes to cinemas on July 26.

Deadpool & Wolverine Gets a New Poster and Promo https://www.geekfeed.com/deadpool-wolverine-gets-a-new-poster-and-promo/ Sat, 25 May 2024 16:23:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82522 Marvel has admittedly been in kind of a slump the past few years, but everyone is expecting the franchise to get back on its feet with the incoming Deadpool & Wolverine which comes to theaters this July.

Tickets just went up for sale for the film, and though we don’t have a new trailer, Marvel has dropped a new poster with Deadpool taking on an unmasked Logan. Check this out:

They’ve also dropped a new promo that’s mostly the same clips from previous trailers, but we do have a new exchange between Wolverine and Deadpool:

Though the trailers have been very sparing with the reveals, it’s said that the movie is going to contain multiple versions of Logan and Wade, with different actors taking on the role from time to time. Rumor has it that Daniel Radcliffe will actually be playing the ‘Patchy’ version of Wolverine, and it’s also been said that Chris Evans could be reprising his role as the Human Torch from the early ‘00s Fantastic Four movies.

Then again, these are just rumors. If you were around for the wild speculation of Multiverse of Madness, you’ll know that there were a lot of ‘sure’ cameos that never took place. With Deadpool & Wolverine, fans are being extra cautious of all the rumors flying around on who could be showing up in this film—from Jennifer Garner’s Elektra to Halle Barry’s Storm.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see until July to find out.

Watch out for Wolverine & Deadpool when it hits cinemas on July 26.

The Claws Come Out in Full Trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine https://www.geekfeed.com/full-trailer-for-deadpool-wolverine-released/ Wed, 24 Apr 2024 10:30:22 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82066 Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine was only teased in the first preview for Deadpool & Wolverine, but now we get to see him back at it with the latest trailer for the movie.

Check the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine out:

Though we know that Wade gets hired by the TVA to be ‘Marvel Jesus’, we also get a bit of background on this version of Logan. It does look like this Wolverine is the reason his world is dead and him teaming up with Deadpool will be his redemption arc.

Besides a lot of Logan, we also get a look at Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), who looks to be the main villain of the series. In the comics, Nova is Professor X’s ‘dark twin’ who Xavier tried to kill while they were in the womb together—no, seriously.

It looks like Nova is the one who runs this 20th Century Fox Marvel wasteland, and we get to see some discarded characters from early X-Men films including Lady Deathstrike (X-Men 2), Azazel (X-Men: First Class), and Callisto (X-Men: The Last Stand). Even when Nova is instroduced, we see her getting off of what some assume is Charles Xavier’s wheelchair.

Of course, we should also expect some references to non-Fox properties in Deadpool &  Wolverine. We get to see Alioth, the cloud monster at the end of time from Loki; and Nova’s base of operations looks to be the dead body of Giant/Ant-Man—something right out of Old Man Logan.

So far, a very obscure cameo-fest looks to be happening, but I am hoping that director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds have a meaningful story in mind for Deadpool’s jump into the MCU. I’m just honestly hoping this doesn’t mean 10 more years of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine because I would love for someone else to finally take on the role.

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to come into theaters on July 26.

Deadpool & Wolverine Promo Art Reveals Deadpool Corps and Wolvy Cowl https://www.geekfeed.com/deadpool-wolverine-art-reveals-deadpool-corps/ Thu, 11 Apr 2024 18:13:47 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81843 Marketing has been very sparse for Deadpool and Wolverine, but some promo images have been leaking online giving us a look at what more to expect from the movie.

Just in, some merch has come out revealing the members of the Deadpool Corps.—several variants of Deadpool from across the Multiverse including Dogpool, Headpool, Kidpool, and Babypool (albeit some glare is blocking him). We also get a better look at Wolverine’s classic cowl complete with the white eyes. Check this out:

https://twitter.com/shugah666/status/1776794348887080981

Based on what we know from the trailer, Deadpool will be hired by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) for some kind of mission. We don’t know exactly what they want him to do—or how Wolverine factors into this—but we are expecting a nostalgic romp of everything Marvel pre-MCU including characters from the original X-Men films as well as the spinoffs like Daredevil, Elektra, and Fantastic Four.

You think there’s room for Nic Cage’s Ghost Rider in this film?

With a release set for July, we may have to wait t abit more until we get a new trailer. With promos usually being released 4 months and 2 months before, it’s possible we could get a full official trailer with Hugh Jackman and the Deadpool Corps. Sometime before the month ends.

Admittedly, the MCU is not riding as high as it was before, but hopefully Deadpool & Wolverine will manage to bring the hype back to this franchise.

Catch Deadpool & Wolverine when they cut their way into theaters on July 26.

Wade Becomes a TVA Agent in First Trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine https://www.geekfeed.com/wade-in-first-trailer-for-deadpool-wolverine/ Tue, 13 Feb 2024 11:18:26 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81019 As promised, Superbowl Sunday managed to give us our first look at the upcoming Deadpool 3, and it teases the first-ever team-up between Wade Wilson and Logan.

Here’s the teaser for Deadpool & Wolverine:

As confirmed, the plot  for Deadpool & Wolverine does have something to do with Wade being assigned by the TVA (Time Variance Authority) as one of their agents, but it’s unclear what mission he’ll be going on. We know that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is going to be part of the film, but a surprising reveal was Aaron Stanford who had played the part of Pyro in the original X movies alongside Jackman.

Based on the rumors that have been coming out, Pyro is only one of several other Marvel Fox characters that are expected to make an appearance. Jennifer Garner is rumored to be reprising the role of Elektra, and it’s rumored that the film will even go as so far to have someone from the original Fantastic Four movies appear.

For what is being expected to be a cameo fest, the teaser actually had a lot of restraint when it came to revealing Wolverine. We don’t know when he’ll be a main part of the trailer, but hopefully Marvel doesn’t blow all the big cameos in the marketing like what Sony has done with the MCU Spider-Man movies.

I just hope they address why Julian Dennison’s Firefist isn’t in the film, because they spent so much of the last movie establishing Wade as his adoptive father. Also, where is Domino???

Catch Deadpool & Wolverine when they cut their way into theaters on July 26.

X-Men First Class Director Says Deadpool 3 will “Save” MCU https://www.geekfeed.com/x-men-first-class-deadpool-3-will-save-mcu/ Sat, 03 Feb 2024 15:38:24 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80875 It’s no mystery that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been going on a slump since the release of Avengers: Endgame, and after the box office underperformance of The Marvels, everyone is just wondering what will bring success back to Marvel Studios.

What’s interesting is, Matthew Vaughn, the director behind X-Men: First Class and the Kingsman franchise, thinks that the upcoming Deadpool movie from Shawn Levy is going to be the very project that will restore a bit of fire to the MCU. Talking to BroBible.com, Vaughn shares:

“The few snippets that I know about Deadpool vs. Wolverine — or Wolverine vs. Deadpool, I’m sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak — are unbelievable. That’s going to be the jolt… the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life. I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe.”

We don’t know exactly what to expect with Deadpool 3, but it is rumored that the movie will neatly close the Marvel Fox cinematic universe after the disappointing reception of X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Not only are we expecting to see Hugh Jackman come back as Logan, but the movie is also said to be bringing back pre-MCU Marvel characters like Elektra (Jennifer Garner) and maybe someone from the first Fantastic Four movies (fingers crossed for Chris Evans’ Human Torch returning).

With the film having had to delay shooting thanks to the SAG-AFTRA Strike, everyone is hopeful that Deadpool 3 will manage to make its July deadline this year. Hopefully we get a trailer soon.

Deadpool 3 is set to come out in theaters on July 26.

Ryan Reynolds Announces Wrap for Deadpool 3 https://www.geekfeed.com/ryan-reynolds-announces-wrap-for-deadpool-3/ Sun, 28 Jan 2024 06:14:01 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80769 Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were in the middle of shooting Deadpool 3 when the SAG-AFTRA Strike hit last year, and the movie had to be indefinitely delayed while a new deal was being made. Production had recently begun again, and now Reynolds has announced a production wrap.

Here’s his official post for Deadpool 3:

It’s not clear whether it was intentional or not, but the post definitely harkens back to a gag from the first film where Deadpool wears red so people can’t see him bleed:

With this movie being a third of a trilogy, a lot of fans think that this could mean the end of something, but everyone is still expecting Ryan Reynolds to stick around and crossover with some other MCU heroes before officially leaving the part. A lot of people are hoping for a Spider-Man team-up with Tom Holland at some point, but we don’t know if Sony would be ballsy enough to release a Spidey film that isn’t multiverse-centric anymore.

As for the Deadpool continuity, some think this will be Marvel’s way of officially sending off the 20th Century Fox timeline. After all the flak that Dark Phoenix received, it would be great if the film managed put an official close to the Marvel timeline that came before.

We don’t know when we’ll get our first look at the movie, but with production wrapped, fingers crossed we get something next month.

Watch out for Deadpool 3 when it comes to cinemas on July 26.

Leaked Image from Deadpool 3 Reveals Wolverine with Comic-Accurate Cowl https://www.geekfeed.com/deadpool-3-reveals-wolverine-comic-accurate-cowl/ Wed, 24 Jan 2024 15:41:01 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80695 It was last July when we got our first look at Hugh Jackman in the yellow comic-accurate Wolverine costume, and though we haven’t seen the cowl in official photos yet, some leaked promo images have revealed the final look—complete with white eyes.

Check this out:

We don’t know when the next official reveal for Deadpool 3 is going to be, but rumor has it that Wolverine is brought back as a recruit for a multiversal army that the TVA is going to be assembling; and it’s going to contain the prime versions of every Marvel hero.

Fans will know that Jackman’s Wolverine dies in Logan, but it’s said that the film will actually address this, and the Logan that we’re following in this movie is a variant that comes from a universe where the X-Men are all wearing comic-accurate costumes.

Besides Logan, there have also been Deadpool variants spotted on set. We know that Dogpool is going to be part of the film, but Reynolds has also been spotted with a long wig in a top-knot—possibly a Wade Wilson that has the mutant powers, but never had to undergo the procedure that permanently deformed him.

The movie is also said to be including appearances from other non-MCU heroes like Jennifer Garner’s Elektra as well as other vets from the older X-Men films including Halle Berry (Storm) and James Marsden (Cyclops).

Then again, those are just rumors, so we’ll just have to wait and see until the film releases to find out who really shows up.

Fingers crossed we get Chris Evans returning as the Human Torch. He already did that Free Guy cameo, so what’s one more small cameo in a Ryan Reynolds project?

Deadpool 3 is set to release in theaters July 26.

Ryan Reynolds Says Deadpool 3 Set Leaks are in the ‘‘Good Problems’ Bucket’ https://www.geekfeed.com/ryan-reynolds-on-deadpool-3-set-leaks/ Mon, 11 Dec 2023 16:39:08 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=80017 Everyone is happy that Deadpool 3 can get back into production, but a lot of fans have considered that they have been spoiled, seeing that the set photos that have been coming out online have been showcasing some big character reveals.

Though this has boosted some interest in the film, Ryan Reynolds himself has decided to release a statement, urging websites and social channels to hold back on sharing some set photos. Here’s what he posted:

Even though Reynolds and company do consider the spoilers online an issue, he does say that it is a ‘good problem’ to have. He explains, “Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’ bucket. I love making this movie.”

So far, the biggest reveal that the movie has officially shared is that Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine, and he’ll be donning the yellow spandex from the comics. Reynolds has also shown a photo of himself as Wade Wilson with the Deadpool variant Dogpool (who has a ridiculously long tongue):

As for set spoilers, I don’t want to get into it, but people have spotted character(s) from the original Fox Marvel properties. That’s as specific I’m willing to go. Hopefully we get to see other, never-before-seen variants show up in the film. Not everything can run on nostalgia.

Deadpool 3 is set to release in theaters July 26, 2024.

New Deadpool 3 Set Photos Reveal Another Classic X-Men Character https://www.geekfeed.com/new-deadpool-3-set-photos-reveal-x-men-character/ Thu, 07 Dec 2023 12:53:27 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79996 The SAG AFTRA Strike is over, which means a lot of productions can get back to work. Deadpool 3 was in the middle of shooting when the strike hit, and now the continuation of Wade Wilson’s story is ready to get rolling once more.

Just in, some new set photos have come out to reveal a classic character from the original X-Men that came out way back in 2000. Check this out:

Just in case you don’t know who that is, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is taking on Sabretooth who was originally played by Tyler Mane in Singer’s film.

Though the character does look like Mane’s version, a lot of fans are hoping that the actor in costume is actually Liev Schreiber, who played Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. There’s even a shot of Deadpool holding Sabretooth’s severed head, and this harkens back to that line where Logan threatens to cut off his head in order to make sure Sabretooth’s healing factor won’t save him.

Interestingly enough, Schreiber was considered to return as Victor Creed in Logan, but that scene ultimately didn’t make it to the film.

Here are some more photos from the set:

We don’t know exactly where the story wants to go, but this is considered to be the swan song for Fox’s X-Men timeline, so it would make sense that they would go all the way back to the very first X-movie.

Deadpool 3 is set to come out July 26, 2024.

Check Out New Photo of Dogpool from Deadpool 3 https://www.geekfeed.com/check-out-new-photo-of-dogpool-from-deadpool-3/ Fri, 24 Nov 2023 17:37:34 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79819 With the SAG-AFTRA Strike over, Deadpool 3 can finally resume production. We haven’t seen any new glimpses of Ryan Reynolds or Hugh Jackman yet, but we do have a new photo of a Deadpool variant in the movie in the form of Dogpool

Dogpool has their own official account, and we have a new photo of them just lying on their back. Check it:

Though Dogpool is essentially male in the comics, it does look like the dog they got for the film is a girl; so to avoid any misgendering, I’ll just go with the neutral they/them for Dogpool.

In the comics, Dogpool was originally a dog named Wilson that was experimented on by a make-up company in the hopes that he would help create a product that could give people eternal youth. After his body was disregarded, he was discovered by a circus that used his healing ability to turn him into a performer named “Deadpool, the Daredevil Dog”. Eventually Dogpool was recruited into the Deadpool Corps. which was a collection of variant Deadpools that were brought together to face a growing threat.

We don’t know exactly what Dogpool’s role in the movie will be, but seeing as the film is supposed to have Wade dealing with the TVA, it’s possible that Dogpool could be one of the DP variants that they have in custody. Either that, or maybe Wade just runs into the dog and decides to keep them around for the fun of it.

Either way, I think Dogpool looks great, and they can be pretty cute despite looking like the dog version of Wade Wilson sans mask.

Deadpool 3 is aiming for a release on July 26, 2024.

Faraway Downs: 2008’s Australia Starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman Gets Expanded into a Minseries https://www.geekfeed.com/faraway-downs-2008s-australia-expanded/ Fri, 10 Nov 2023 17:33:34 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=79524 Baz Luhrmann’s Australia didn’t manage to make waves when it came out back in 2008, but it still managed to nab some top stars with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Though the film was considered to be Luhrmann’s biggest flop, it looks like Australia is going to try to find its legs more than a decade later again as a miniseries.

Here’s the trailer for Faraway Downs:

The official description reads:

An English aristocrat, Lady Sarah Ashley (Kidman) who travels halfway across the world to confront her wayward husband and sell an unusual asset: a million-acre cattle ranch in the Australian Outback called ‘Faraway Downs’. Following the death of her husband, a ruthless Australian cattle baron, King Carney, plots to take her land and she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle drover (Jackman) to protect her ranch.

The sweeping adventure romance is explored through the eyes of young Nullah, a bi-racial Indigenous Australian child caught up in the government’s draconian racial policy now referred to as the “Stolen Generations.” Together the trio experiences four life-altering years, a love affair between Lady Ashley and the Drover, and the unavoidable impact of World War II on Northern Australia.

The series essentially takes Luhrmann’s almost 3-hour film and spreads it across six episodes. We don’t know if there was any new footage that was added to the film, but at almost three hours, you can expect the movie to have a lot of extra shots as well as some deleted scenes.

With 2008 being the year where a lot of great films came out from Iron Man and The Dark Knight to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, you can imagine that Australia definitely had a lot of competition when it came out that year.

Luhrmann was already said to have trouble getting the movie over the finish line when it released, but even if Australia didn’t manage to captivate audiences then, maybe 2023 audiences will be more forgiving with a miniseries.

Faraway Downs release on Disney+ on Nov. 26.
