Ezra Miller – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com Entertainment News, Celebrities and Fandoms Tue, 04 Jul 2023 06:52:01 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://www.geekfeed.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/cropped-Geekfeed-Favicon-White-32x32.png Ezra Miller – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com 32 32 Watch: The Flash Director Breaks Down Opening ‘Baby Shower’ Scene https://www.geekfeed.com/flash-director-breaks-down-opening-baby-shower/ Mon, 03 Jul 2023 01:13:22 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77505 Headlines may be saying that The Flash is going to lose WB Pictures a lot of money, but that doesn’t mean the film is without some very interesting setpieces.

In a video from The New York Times, director Andy Muschietti breaks down one of the opening action setpieces from the film which has The Flash (Ezra Miller) attempting to save 9 babies, a woman, and a therapy dog falling to their deaths. Watch this:

Though there are some fans online that complain that Miller’s version of Barry Allen is too overpowered when it comes to being a superhero, it was interesting that the movie emphasized that he gets weaker when he’s running on an empty stomach.

Muschietti explains, “I wanted to put his superpowers to a test… and basically explaining that even if you are the fastest man alive, you can have trouble saving different people at the same time.”

It’s hard to decipher exactly why The Flash isn’t tearing it up in theaters as expected, but personally, I think there’s nothing wrong with the quality of the movie; the story was pretty solid, and Miller actually delivers a very heartwarming performance as Barry Allen. The movie certainly has a lot more heart to it than last year’s Black Adam.

Maybe it’s the issues surrounding Miller or the fact that the film is competing with Across the Spider-Verse, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and Pixar’s Elemental in theaters, but I think the movie will find its audience when it releases digitally.

The Flash Director Says ‘Weird CG’ Was Done on Purpose https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-director-says-weird-cg-done-on-purpose/ Fri, 16 Jun 2023 09:21:00 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77331 The Flash comes out this week, but anyone who was able to catch the movie early has been griping about the weird Mummy Returns-esque CG that was used on several characters—specifically the cameos. As it turns out, this was the director’s intention.

Talking to io9 (via Gizmodo), Andy Muschietti confirms that the effect was supposed to put the audience in Barry’s POV. He explains:

“The idea, of course, is…we are in the perspective of the Flash… Everything is distorted in terms of lights and textures. We enter this ‘waterworld’ which is basically being in Barry’s POV. It was part of the design so if it looks a little weird to you that was intended.”

Admittedly, it does sound like an excuse to save face, but if you’ve seen the film, you’ll kind of understand that upping the CG to realistic-level visuals would have probably led to the movie coming out even further down the line. Plus, the well-celebrated ‘cameos’ of other DC heroes would have been a mixed bag of good and terrible CG.

Personally, I thought the movie was a great time. The film does present us with a very unique look at Barry’s powers, and the very core of the story with Barry trying to save his mother is heartfelt. Despite all the issues online with Ezra Miller, their portrayal of the Flash remains to be one of the most endearing characters in the DCEU.

The Flash Director Wants Ezra Miller Back if a Sequel Should Happen https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-director-wants-ezra-miller-back/ Thu, 01 Jun 2023 18:06:28 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77046 There’s been a lot of positive buzz about The Flash which comes out in a few weeks, but online netizens still remember that star Ezra Miller had been making headlines for some problematic behaviour.

Despite the controversy about Miller ending their Flash run with this movie, director Andy Muschietti thinks that Miller definitely deserves to return for a sequel should one get greenlit. Talking to The Discourse podcast (via The Playlist), Muschietti was asked if Miller would come back for a Flash sequel, and he replied:

“If [a sequel] happens, yes… I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did. The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. And, as you said, the two Barrys – it feels like a character that was made for them.”

Even before all the controversy, Miller was said to have been very dedicated with the making of the movie, and at one point even attempted to write the script for the film after multiple directors and writers came and went. Muschietti adds:

“In principal photography, Ezra was brilliant and the most committed and the most professional [actor]. Ezra gave everything for this role – physically, creatively, emotionally. They were absolutely supreme.”

So far, everyone online has against Miller and their antics, but based on all the positive early reviews that the film is getting—and Miller seemingly keeping their promise to stay out of trouble—it’s very likely we could be seeing more of their Flash down the line.

Then again, it’s not really up to Muschietti, and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

The Flash Featurette Puts Focus on Michael Keaton’s Batman https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-featurette-focus-michael-keatons-batman/ Thu, 01 Jun 2023 17:31:11 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77034 A lot of fans are excited for The Flash to finally get his solo movie, but the film has also been hard at promoting the return of Michael Keaton as Batman. WB has released a featurette giving us a behind-the-scenes look at Keaton’s Dark Knight and as well as his Batcave.

Check this out:

While I imagine that Keaton is re-living the plot of Birdman by returning for this movie, it’s kind of a neat story that he allegedly filmed the Batcave to send to Tim Burton, the director of his Batman movies. We don’t know what Burton has to say about the movie yet, but based on critic reviews and everyone else who’s seen the movie, this looks to be one of the best superhero films to come out of DC.

In fact, it’s so good that it managed to keep Ezra Miller from getting permanently cancelled online—and not for lack of trying.

I’m just hoping for a good movie, and a proper sendoff to the Snyderverse. While it’s a shame we never got to see it completed, I’m just eager to push forward with the universe without it having to go back to zero.

Worlds collide when the Flash uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past. However, when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, he becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation. With no other superheroes to turn to, the Flash looks to coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian — albeit not the one he’s looking for.

The Flash speeds into theaters on June 16.

Final Trailer for The Flash Features Another Justice League Cameo https://www.geekfeed.com/final-trailer-for-the-flash-features-jl-cameo/ Fri, 26 May 2023 08:27:19 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76964 Rumor has it that The Flash will be sending off the Snyderverse timeline once and for all, and we should expect a final appearance from Ben Affleck as Batman and the rest. What’s cool is, the final trailer for the movie features one more cameo from the Snyder timeline.

Check this out:

We’ve known for a while that Ben Affleck’s Batman was going to appear, but now we have confirmation that Jeremy Irons is also returning as Alfred. We don’t know how large Irons’ role will be in the film, but I guess it does offer more comparison to Michael Keaton’s Batman who probably doesn’t have Alfred helping him out anymore.

As someone who was a silent supporter of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, it’s definitely sad to see WB just redo everything that’s been set-up, but hopefully co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran manage to establish a new universe without having to go right back to zero.

Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?

Let’s Get Nuts in 2nd Trailer for The Flash https://www.geekfeed.com/lets-get-nuts-in-2nd-trailer-for-the-flash/ Wed, 26 Apr 2023 17:35:32 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76517 June is getting nearer and nearer, and DC has decided to drop a new trailer for what is rumored to be one of the best entries in the DCEU of all time.

Check out the second trailer for The Flash:

The trailer pretty much sets the story for the film in which Barry alters the timeline and he’ll have to find a new team of superheroes to help him stop General Zod—one of them being an alternate Barry Allen who doesn’t have any powers.

We get a lot more footage of both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck’s Batmen, plus we also have some more dialogue from Sasha Calle’s Supergirl who seems to know who Zod is. There’s also a brief shot of the other Barry wearing an altered bat costume so that it looks more like a Flash outfit.

Here’s the official description for the film:

New Images from The Flash Feature Batmen and Supergirl https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-features-batmen-and-supergirl/ Wed, 19 Apr 2023 07:10:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76359 With Shazam! Fury of the Gods out of the way, DC is now open to hype up the release of The Flash this June. We don’t have a new trailer drop yet, but @FlashFilmNews has shared new photos of Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s Batmen as well as Sasha Calle’s Supergirl.

Check these out:

While the film is leaning heavily on Keaton’s return as Batman, a lot of Snyder fans are excited to see Ben Affleck’s version of the Dark Knight one more time. Though some were hoping that Affleck could stay on for spinoffs, the actor has said that The Flash will be his swan song for this version of Batman.

As for Sasha Calle, she’s going to be playing an altered version of Superman from The Flashpoint Paradox. In Flashpoint, Superman isn’t raised in a farm, but was instead apprehended by the US government and experimented on for years. It looks like Calle’s Supergirl is going to go through the same thing, but instead she’s captured as a young adult Kryptonian rather than raised in the prison since birth.

Then again, I’m just guessing based on what’s in the trailers.

Here’s the film synopsis:

Barry Allen uses his super speed to change the past, but his attempt to save his family creates a world without super heroes, forcing him to race for his life in order to save the future.

The Flash is set to release in theaters on June 16.

Ben Affleck Won’t Direct Anything for James Gunn’s DC https://www.geekfeed.com/ben-affleck-wont-direct-anything-for-james-gunn/ Tue, 21 Mar 2023 16:16:48 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=74104 Last December, newly christened DC co-head James Gunn had said that they were interested in getting ex-Batman Ben Affleck to direct his own DC project, and though it looked like that was going to be on the table, it seems that Affleck is closing the door on that opportunity.

Talking to THR, Affleck confirms, “I would not direct something for the Gunn DC. Absolutely not… I have nothing against James Gunn. Nice guy, sure he’s going to do a great job. I just wouldn’t want to go in and direct in the way they’re doing that. I’m not interested in that.”

We don’t know why Affleck would be so apprehensive when it comes to coming back to the DC banner, but it’s said that his terrible experience shooting Justice League could have had something to do with his decision. Back in the early days of the DCEU pre-studio meddling, Affleck was actually set to direct his own Batman solo movie; but things went south, and that’s how we ended up with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

For now, it looks like Affleck is going to close the chapter on his Batman with one final appearance in The Flash. We don’t know what exactly goes down, but fans are suspecting that Batfleck will die in the beginning of the film, which will result in Barry jumping to an alternat dimension where Bruce is alive—only this time, he’s played by Michael Keaton.

It’s still sad to see Affleck let go of Batman, but if he really was miserable making those film, I wouldn’t put it past him to try and move on.

For now, catch Affleck in The Flash which hits theaters on June 16.

Michael Shannon Got Confused When He was Asked to Return for The Flash https://www.geekfeed.com/michael-shannon-confused-he-was-asked-to-return/ Sat, 11 Mar 2023 09:25:25 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73992 Michael Shannon’s General Zod had famously died in Man of Steel and was resurrected as Doomsday in Batman v Superman. While fans were sure he was dead by the end of the latter film, he’ll be making another DC comeback with the Flash movie. Confused? Apparently, so is Shannon.

Talking to Variety, Shannon reveals how he was perplexed when they asked him to play Zod in The Flash. He explains, “I was a little confused… I said, ‘As memory serves me, I think I died in ‘Man of Steel.’ Are they sure they got the right guy?’ But then they explained to me the whole multiverse phenomenon, which I was a little behind the times on that. I can’t say that I’m a huge consumer of this genre of films — not that I have anything against them. If I’m going to watch a movie, the odds are it’s not going to be one of those, but I sure love making them.”

Based on what we see in the trailer, the Flash alters the timeline so that there isn’t a Superman to stop Zod when he starts his invasion on Earth in Man of Steel; resulting in him teaming up with Batman to find Supergirl.

While Zod gets a lot of dramatic moments in Man of Steel, Shannon explains how his role is pretty much reduced in this one. He continues,[Zod’s] a little different in this film. He’s a little more… I don’t know how to put it. You don’t spend as much time with him, so you don’t really get to know as much about what he’s thinking. It’s not necessarily his movie. That’s the thing with these multiverse movies — you get a little bit of this and a little bit of that. But it’s really Ezra [Miller’s] movie.”

I guess we’ll just have to rewatch Man of Steel before The Flash releases. Heck, why don’t we rewatch all the Snyder films?

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 16.

James Gunn has ‘Left the Door Open’ for Original DCEU Stars to Return https://www.geekfeed.com/gunn-left-the-door-open-for-original-dceu-stars/ Thu, 02 Feb 2023 10:07:14 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73172 While a lot of fans were disappointed that Henry Cavill would no longer be playing Superman, a lot of fans thought that other actors like Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller should be allowed to keep their DCEU roles moving forward.

The good news is, it looks like they could be allowed to stay, but it’s ultimately up to the actors. Variety writes:

“Safran and Gunn left the door open for Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Zachary Levi to continue playing their respective DC superheroes of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash and Shazam, but Gunn reiterated that Henry Cavill will not continue as Superman. Otherwise, the execs said, they will be casting new actors in the roles.”

So far, other DCEU actors who are going to be keeping their roles include Viola Davis (Suicide Squad) who will be starring in her own HBO Max spinoff series Waller, and probably everyone else on the Peacemaker series.

It’s also worth noting that properties outside of the main timeline like Joker: Folie a deux and The Batman Part II will be releasing under a new banner called DC Elseworlds. The Black Superman project also falls under this banner, and is still in active development.

Just in case, you missed it, here’s Gunn’s announcement for the first ‘chapter’ of the rebooted DCU dubbed Gods and Monsters:

For now, DC is gearing up for the release of Shazam! Fury of the Gods which hits theaters on March 17.

New Super Bowl Banner for the Flash has New Looks at Both Flashes https://www.geekfeed.com/new-super-bowl-banner-for-the-flash/ Wed, 04 Jan 2023 11:54:33 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72729 The upcoming Flash movie promises two new suits for Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen—one more streamlined suit that the Justice League one, and another one made out of a Michael Keaton batsuit.

The first trailer is set to drop this February at the Super Bowl, and we have a new banner that gives us a look at both Flashes. Check this out:

We don’t know exactly where the new Flash costume comes from, but the suit definitely only looks good from certain angles. A lot of the suit we’ve seen so far have admittedly been kind of goofy, but it some shots, it does look pretty amazing.

I am actually more partial to the improvised suit, because a lot of its design tells a story from the spray-painted lightning bolts to the cut off ‘ears’. I guess I’ve always been a sucker for messy, DIY suits from the Ironheart Mk. 1 suit in Black Panther 2 to Peter Parker’s homemade outfit from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Going back to The Flash though, here has been word going around that test screenings have been overwhelmingly positive. With James Gunn and Peter Safran planning a huge overhaul of the franchise, it’s curious how The Flash movie is going to end, especially with all the characters it was allegedly setting up.

I guess we’ll just have to wait for the movie to find out what happens.

Super Bowl Sunday takes place on Feb. 12. The Flash is set to come out in theaters June 16, 2023.

Merch Reveals Michael Keaton’s Updated Batwing from The Flash https://www.geekfeed.com/michael-keatons-updated-batwing-from-the-flash/ Sat, 31 Dec 2022 11:32:51 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72699 When it comes to comic book movie shots, one of the most iconic is definitely the Batwing flying in front of the moon in Tim Burton’s Batman. With Michael Keaton set to return in The Flash, some merchandise has revealed a new look at the Batwing.

Check this out:

It’s not the exact Batwing from the movie, but you can see a lot of design elements are still the same, with the placement of the cockpit and the ‘horns.’ The overall silhouette is also changed, not being as circular as the one we saw in the original Batman.

With Ben Affleck’s Batman being modern in terms of today’s tech advancements, it’s interesting to wonder just how Keaton’s Batman would be technologically advanced in his world. I’m excited to see the Batwing again, but what else does he have up his sleeves?

Besides his gadgets and vehicles, I wonder if modern Gotham is still going to be as steam-covered and dark as the one we got in the Burton movies. It would be great if they were able to invoke that same feeling audiences in the 80s got when they saw Gotham, but with today’s crowd.

With a release set for June, DC sure is taking its time to reveal to us the first teaser for The Flash. They say it’s because the VFX required just really needs the time to be polished, but some believe that WB is just waiting for all the buzz to die down on Ezra Miller’s latest headlines.

Catch The Flash when he finally runs into theaters on July 16, 2023.

The Flash Promo Photos Reveal Improvised Flash/Batman Suit https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-promo-photos-reveal-improvised-suit/ Tue, 06 Dec 2022 11:09:42 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72323 With the Flash solo movie said to have two different versions of Barry Allen, some shots have revealed that one Flash will be making their own suit out of a Batsuit that belongs to Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne. We don’t have an official look at it yet, but we do have some promotional material that could give us a look at this Batman/Flash costume.

Check this out:

While we’ve seen the new suit with the cowl, this is the first time we’ve seen most of the makeshift supersuit. The thunderbolt sprayed over the bat symbol was teased years before, but now we get to see that the ‘ears’ have been cut off the cowl, most of the suit is painted red, and some traffic stickers have been placed in some parts of the suit. I’m guessing the yellow bits on his head are supposed to headphones.

From Spider-Man’s homemade suit in Homecoming to Iron Man’s first suit that he built in the cave, I’m honestly a sucker for DIY superhero outfits. I love how they were able to make use of a Burton batsuit, and they gave it its own original flair that shows off the personality of the Flash.

Though Ezra Miller has been making some problematic headlines over the past few months, one thing remains constant with the test screenings, and it’s that audiences have had very positive reactions to the movie. Will The Flash eventually mark a new era for the DCEU, or will it go the way of Sony’s Morbius?

We’ll just have to wait and see.

The Flash is set to come to theaters June 23, 2023.

#EZRAMILLERISINNOCENT Trends After News that the Flash could Get Cancelled https://www.geekfeed.com/ezramillerisinnocent-trends-after-flash-rumor/ Mon, 15 Aug 2022 10:29:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70552 It’s no mystery that The Flash star Ezra Miller had been in the middle of controversy with all the headlines going around, and recent report from THR says that WB is actually considering cancelling the release of the Flash movie altogether.

After news of that broke, though, the hashtag #EZRAMILLERISINNOCENT has started trending on Twitter, with multiple accounts showing Miller their support and claiming that a lot of the accusations against him have been proven false and taken out of context.

For now, Twitter is being flooded by posts like this:

Personally I don’t know where to stand with the issue seeing that there’s so much clashing information online, but there are still a lot of people adamant that Miller is guilty and should lose the Flash role.

For now, WB is said to be weighing three options when it comes to the Flash movie, them being:

  1. Have Miller seek professional help and eventually give an interview explaining their actions. They will then be allowed to do limited promotion for The Flash and they the movie releases as planned.
  2. Ban Miller from any promotions of the film, release The Flash, and recast the role.
  3. Cancel the movie entirely and be out $200 million

So far, test audience reactions for The Flash were said to be incredibly positive, but the situation with Miller can only be ignored for so long. I’m always up for the first option, and I hope that Miller can explain themselves; because I don’t really think he seriously hurt anyone either.

For now, The Flash is still sitting nervously on its release date of June 23, 2023.

The Flash: A Possible First Look at Keaton’s Updated Batsuit https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-a-possible-first-look-at-keatons-updated-batsuit/ Mon, 18 Apr 2022 13:04:30 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64894 Fans have been waiting for a while to get a look at Michael Keaton in the upcoming Flash movie, but with the film being delayed, we might have to wait a little longer. What’s interesting is, a look at Keaton’s new Batman look may have leaked online.

Check this out:

While there are still some doubts about the legitimacy of the photo, it does look pretty real. It may not be exactly like the suit we got in ’89, but it does feel like a natural upgrade from the foam abs to the utility belt. Even the boots and gauntlets have been given some more texture.

We don’t know exactly how Keaton weighs in on the story, but some are suspecting that Barry Allen will find himself in another timeline where Keaton is the existing Batman. We also know that Ben Affleck will be playing his version of the Caped Crusader one last time in The Flash, and there is also a rumor going around that the movie will end with Keaton as the main Batman of the DCEU timeline.

Of course, until the film releases, all we can really do is wait and see. With the Flash being pushed back so many times, fans are hoping that it will finally make its June 2023 release date rather than be delayed again. For a move about the Fastest Man Alive, The Flash sure has been taking its time to release, what with multiple director changes and the future of Ezra Miller’s DC career in limbo.

The Flash is set to come out on June 23, 2023.

The Flash: Could Jeremy Irons be Reprising Alfred? https://www.geekfeed.com/the-flash-could-jeremy-irons-be-reprising-alfred/ Tue, 12 Apr 2022 11:52:00 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64818 It’s often overlooked, but having Ben Affleck gone from the Batman role could mean that Jeremy Irons could also be done playing his version of Alfred Pennyworth. With Batfleck assured to make an appearance in The Flash, word is going around that Alfred could be showing up as well.

This comes from @ViewerAnon who says that Irons could be playing the Wayne family butler one more time in The Flash. They post:

@FlashFilmNews also adds to the news, saying that Alfred won’t just be a voice cameo, but will also have an onscreen appearance in the first act of the movie:

Some fans actually think that WB might keep Irons on as the Alfred to Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne, but seeing that the two only have a three-year age difference, they might want to cast someone older as Alfred or de-age Keaton for a few years.

Then again, there hasn’t been any official confirmation on WB’s part about Alfred’s return, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Though Michael Caine was a supportive Alfred, and Andy Serkis was more concerned with Bruce living up to the Wayne legacy; I enjoyed Irons’ take on the character—though he is an active supporter of Batman, he’s never shy of having some dry quips paired with some much-needed gravitas for the Dark Knight.

With the movie set to come out June of next year, we might have to wait until early 2023 to get a look at The Flash. Let’s hope this will be the last delay of the movie after all these years.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2023.

Michael Keaton Confirmed for 2 Batman Appearances This Year https://www.geekfeed.com/michael-keaton-confirmed-for-2-batman-appearances-this-year/ Mon, 28 Feb 2022 16:09:53 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64267 A lot of people are excited to have Michael Keaton come back as Batman in The Flash, but what’s great is, we could be getting more of him than expected this year.

Producer Michael Uslan has shared a teaser for Keaton’s Batman return on Facebook, and while we’ve known for a while that he’ll be in The Flash this November, he’s been confirmed for another appearance in December.

What’s coming in December hasn’t been officially announced, but some suspect that this is the release window for HBO Max’s Batgirl movie. Set photos have confirmed that the film will have an appearance from Keaton’s version of Batman, and maybe this post from Uslan just further confirms it.

As of now, Batgirl’s place in the DCEU timeline is still pretty unknown, but it’s possible that via some multiverse magic, we can get a new established DCEU with a couple of faces—specifically Ben Affleck’s—changed.

For now, DC’s goal is to push the release of the Robert Pattinson-fulled Batman movie, and after that we should expect the hype train for Black Adam to start chugging. We don’t know when we’re going to get our first teaser for The Flash, but hopefully we get Batman’s full appearance—not just some teasers like what they did with Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on Nov. 4, but you can catch Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight when The Batman comes out on March 4.

Marvel Helped Shoot [SPOILERS] Cameo in Peacemaker https://www.geekfeed.com/marvel-helped-shoot-spoilers-cameo-in-peacemaker/ Sun, 20 Feb 2022 18:06:13 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64149 [SPOILERS FOR THE PEACEMAKER FINALE]

Everyone was expecting some kind of cameo in the Peacemaker finale, but not everyone was expecting an appearance from the actual Justice League. What’s interesting is, it was actually Marvel that helped shoot one of the cameos.

Talking to Variety, director James Gunn revealed that it was Marvel Studios that helped him shoot Ezra Miller’s cameo as the Flash.  He explained, Actually, Marvel shot [Ezra] for us, while we’re shooting Guardians Vol. 3… but I mean, Marvel owed DC, because the Peacemaker crew shot my screen test for Chukwudi for Guardians Vol. 3. And then we got Ezra with the Guardians Vol. 3 crew.”

Originally, it was only Jason Momoa that was expected to make the cameo for the movie, but hearing that Miller was interested in doing an appearance for the show, he eventually got put in. Too bad there weren’t any plans on contacting Henry Cavill or Gal Gadot.

As for the missing League members, Gunn had this to say about the absent Cyborg and Batman:

“You know, I don’t know what I can — there are reasons for it, but I’m actually uncertain whether I can say what those reasons are. It might have to do with future stuff.”

For now, Peacemaker has been greenlit for a second season. We don’t know where Chris Smith and the rest of Project Butterfly could go, but hopefully Gunn still has an interesting place to take the character. Maybe they can even give us a new iteration of the Suicide Squad down the line? How about a return of Will Smith’s Deadshot?

Catch the full season of Peacemaker now available on HBO Max.

In one of Miller’s IG stories, he posts a cropped photo of an article saying Affleck is done playing Batman, but he underlines “one last time” and writes “HA HA HA” on top of everything. Here’s a screenshot from @RtSnyderverse:

While it would mean so much for a lot of fans for Affleck to keep playing Batman for just a little more, Affleck’s recent struggles since Justice League have led fans to believe that he truly is done with superhero films for now.

That being said, Miller does have a lot of insider knowledge when it comes to the DCEU, and seeing that he could be trying to build hype for The Flash’s release later this year, it would make sense that he would bank on one of the biggest foundations of the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse movement—and that’s Ben Affleck returning as Batman.

Fingers crossed that Affleck does change his mind eventually, but the consensus of fans now is to leave him in peace if he doesn’t want to play Batman anymore. It’s kind of sad, but hopefully the door can be open for a comeback—like Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man.

Catch The Flash when it hits theaters on Nov. 4.

While Miller doesn’t say exactly what happened, but does specifically call out “the Beulaville chapter of the North Carolina Ku Klux Klan,” and he threatens that if they don’t kill themselves, ‘we’ll do it for you.’

Even the caption on the post wants his followers to share the video and to ‘take this seriously.’

Like I said, it’s unclear what happened that would lead Miller to post a threat online, and fans are just posting about their confusion online, waiting for what will happen next:

While there are plenty of reasons to be angry at the Klan, I’m guessing that this comes from a personal place for Miller seeing as he identifies as Jewish. I’m just hoping that this doesn’t lead to any kind of violent riot, but like I said, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful, dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards and witches. They soon encounter an array of old and new beasts as they clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers.

For now, Miller is set to appear in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore which hits theaters on April 15. The Flash comes out on Nov. 4.
