Check it out:

With Giselle’s signature color being blue in the first movie, you’ll notice that her first costume change in Monroelasia is actually a call-back to Giselle’s costume from the That’s How You Know number—only this time, it’s given that more mature, motherly flair.

Of course, the most fabulous costumes in the films belong to the villain (or rather villains), and we get a closer look at the costumes for Malvina and Wicked Giselle. It’s kind of cool how Giselle’s look transitions from blue to purple, until we get her final red dress in the finale. I probably wouldn’t have been able to point out the vines if they didn’t mention it in the video.

All-in-all, Disenchanted is a solid follow-up, and I would love to see more of Giselle if Disney was willing to give it a chance.

It has been 15 years since Giselle (Amy Adams) and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.

Disenchanted is now streaming on Disney+.

Disenchanted Featurette Highlights the Enchanted Reunion https://www.geekfeed.com/disenchanted-featurette-enchanted-reunion/ Fri, 18 Nov 2022 08:33:27 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=72080 It’s been more than a decade since the last Enchanted movie, but the sequel Disenchanted still managed to bring back a lot of the principal cast for the film. Just in, Disney has dropped a new featurette highlighting the reunion between Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel.

Watch the new featurette down here:

Though she has moved on to take on more serious roles, Amy Adams’ take on Giselle is still as optimistic as ever. But instead of just playing the lost princess, she’s also tapping into that Wicked Stepmother part—which I think she’s doing a wonderful job in, just based on the trailers and other previews.

It’s also worth noting that we’ll get to see Idina Menzel actually singing this time. Though she only had a small role in the first Enchanted, I think her elevated status as the voice of Elsa kind of compels Disney to give her a musical number for the sequel. Even if that was the case, I can’t wait to watch Amy Adams and company just burst into song. Who knows, maybe Giselle will get her obligatory villain song when it comes to this sequel?

Admittedly, I’m kind of bummed that this movie isn’t coming out in theaters, but I guess that doesn’t really say anything about the quality. I mean, that Chip ‘n Dale reboot was pretty good, but it didn’t get the theatrical release it deserved. Who knows, maybe Disney will change their minds if Disenchanted gets received well.

Disenchanted premieres on Disney+ on Dec. 18.

Disenchanted: Giselle Becomes an Evil Step-Mother in Latest Trailer https://www.geekfeed.com/disenchanted-giselle-becomes-an-evil-step-mother/ Thu, 03 Nov 2022 03:09:16 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71844 It’s been more than a decade since we got Disney’s Enchanted, but I guess it’s better late than never with the sequel finally arriving later this month. Just in, we have a new trailer for Disenchanted featuring evil step-mother Giselle (Amy Adams) just trying to find her happily-ever-after again.

Watch this:

Here’s the official synopsis:

It has been more than ten years since Giselle (Amy Adams) and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life.

With the first movie being a love letter to Disney princesses, it looks like the sequel is going to tug at the reality of what a ‘happily-ever-after’ ending really means. While I’m sure a lot of people wouldn’t want Giselle to make an evil turn, I think it’s a pretty interesting exploration of her character, and just how far she’s willing to go to get what she wants.

I’ll admit, the straight-to-streaming released does have me worried that the studio doesn’t have faith in the project, but I’m willing to give the film the benefit of the doubt. The cast is still amazing, and I can’t wait to see Maya Rudolph go full Disney villain.

Disenchanted premieres on Disney+ on Nov. 18.

Disenchanted: Disney Reveals First Look Photos https://www.geekfeed.com/disenchanted-disney-reveals-first-look-photos/ Thu, 19 May 2022 16:17:56 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=65294 It’s been more than a decade since Disney released Enchanted, and now the sequel, Disenchanted is gearing up to release on Disney+ sometime later this year. Just in, we have a new look at a returning Amy Adams as princess Giselle as well as a new character played by Maya Rudolph.

Check this out:

https://twitter.com/DisneyStudios/status/1526679858587127808

As per Entertainment Weekly, the story is set 15 years after the first movie and will follow Giselle and her husband Robert as he they move from New York City to the suburbs. Here’s the synopsis:

Taking place 15 years after Enchanted, which found fairy-tale princess Giselle banished from her kingdom of Andalasia to Manhattan, Disenchanted returns us to the world of Giselle (Amy Adams) and her pragmatic divorce lawyer husband, Robert (Patrick Dempsey). Patrick’s daughter, Morgan, is now a teenager. As Giselle and family relocate to the suburb of Monroeville, she must face the challenges of a new home and re-discover the true meaning of happily ever after.

Besides Dempsey and Adams, the movie will also be bringing back other characters from the first film including James Marsden and Idina Menzel—who might be asked to sing this time around, seeing as she is the voice of one of Disney’s most popular queens right now—Elsa from Frozen.

Though there are returning cast members, new characters will be played by Jayma Mays, Yvette Nicole Brown, Kolton Stewart, and Oscar Nunez. Gabriella Baldacchino is also a newcomer who will be playing the role of Robert’s grown-up daughter Morgan.

While we don’t have a trailer yet, Disenchanted is set to come to Disney+ sometime later this 2022.

Enchanted Sequel Officially Starts Production https://www.geekfeed.com/enchanted-sequel-officially-starts-production/ Fri, 21 May 2021 05:41:43 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59583 We’re finally here. After years of rumors and delays, Disney has finally started the production of the sequel to 2007’s hit movie Enchanted. It’s official name? Disenchanted.

Here’s the official Enchanted sequel announcement as per Disney’s Twitter:

Besides confirmation that production has officially started on the film, the movie also the return of several original cast members, as well as some new ones. Besides Amy Adams, we know that Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel are making their comeback; new cast members include Yvette Nicole brown, Jayma Mays, Oscar Nunez, Gabby Baldacchino, Maya Rudolph, and Kolton Stewart.

Besides Adam Shankman (Hairspray) taking over directing duties, it’s said that Alan Menken, who is the genius behind the music of Disney’s ‘Renaissance’ period of the 90s, is also coming back to write new songs for the film.

With the original Enchanted poking fun at Disney princess movies and the tropes that they’ve made famous, it’s going to be interesting to see how Disenchanted will take the story. Would Disney want to make fun of itself eating up so many franchises like Marvel and Star Wars? Could we even get a more meaningful arc when it comes to Giselle and Robert?

The synopsis of the movie is as follows:

Ten years after her happily ever after, Giselle questions her happiness, inadvertently turning the lives of those in the real world and Andalasia upside down in the process.

Disenchanted is set to come out on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
