Ebon Moss-Bachrach – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com Entertainment News, Celebrities and Fandoms Wed, 04 Sep 2024 11:54:38 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://www.geekfeed.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/cropped-Geekfeed-Favicon-White-32x32.png Ebon Moss-Bachrach – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com 32 32 Is This Our First Look at Natasha Lyonne in Fantastic Four: First Steps? https://www.geekfeed.com/natasha-lyonne-in-fantastic-four-first-steps/ Wed, 04 Sep 2024 11:54:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=84091 Natasha Lyonne is best known for her roles in Russian Doll and Rian Johnson’s Poker Face, and she’s recently been cast in the upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four from Marvel Studios.

No details have been revealed of Lyonne’s character in the film, but she does share this new photo that could give a hint at who she could be playing in the movie. Here’s Lyonne with Ebon Moss-Bachrach who plays Ben Grimm a.k.a. The Thing:

It’s not clear if this is a set photo or just the two actors hanging out behind-the-scenes, but at least fans know that she’s going to be sharing scenes with Moss-Bachrach, which pretty much could confirm her character.

Ever since she was announced, fans have been speculating that Lyonne could be playing Ben Grimm’s longtime girlfriend in the comics, Alicia Masters. In the lore, Masters was blind, but she was also a gifted sculptor. She was played by Kerry Washington in the Fox’s original Fantastic Four films.

With Lyonne’s overall vibe, she could very much play a blind artist who spouts all kinds of philosophy and quips at Ben Grimm. Some are even guessing that it’s actually her that gets to coin the “It’s Clobberin’ Time” catchphrase—spoken in her signature New York accent.

Then again, this is all just speculation. For all we know, she could be playing HERBIE the robot. But who casts Lyonne is a role where she can’t play someone close to herself?

Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to come out July 25, 2025.

First Look at Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing in The Fantastic Four: First Steps Set Photos https://www.geekfeed.com/first-look-at-ebon-moss-bachrachs-the-thing/ Sat, 31 Aug 2024 19:17:52 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=84052 Marvel has been pretty sparing with their reveals for Fantastic Four, but production is already ongoing and some set videos have been making their way online.

Just in, a set video has given a look at Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm a.k.a. The Thing in full costume. Check this out:

While some think that this would be a practical suit that will be used in the film like the 2005 Fantastic Four movies, this is actually more of a visual reference which would be used by VFX artists to figure out how to properly color the CG model when they add it to the frame.

It would also help the actors that are actually on set to know just what they’re looking at and what will be opposite them in the final product.

Admittedly, there are some fans (myself included) that would have loved a practical Thing suit. I especially love how they pulled it off in the 2000s films. But it was a very complicated process, and actor Michael Chiklis was said to have spent hours just putting the costume on; plus they would have to find ways to cool his body off because the suit doesn’t allow for much ventilation.

Hopefully with CG, we’re going to get a more comic-accurate Thing that will allow for a more subtle performance from Moss-Bachrach. We’re just going to have to wait and see till Marvel gives us our first official look.

Watch out for The Fantastic Four: First Steps when it hits theatres on July 25, 2025.

Pedro Pascal Shares New Look at Fantastic Four Cast https://www.geekfeed.com/pascal-shares-new-look-at-fantastic-four-cast/ Tue, 30 Jul 2024 07:40:25 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83503 Deadpool and Wolverine is coming out this weekend, but fans should expect to get a bit excited about the new Fantastic Four. Production is set to begin soon, and series lead Pedro Pascal has just shared a photo of him with his co-stars Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm), and Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm).

He also shares a photo of director Matt Shakman who has cut his teeth with Marvel when he worked on the series WandaVision. If that doesn’t impress you though, Shakman has also worked on series like Succession, Game of Thrones, The Great, and The Boys.

It’s still unclear what direction the new Fantastic Four is going, but based on rumors, the Four will actually come from an alternate timeline where everything is retro-futuristic. It’s expected that the Four will be going up against Galactus (Ralph Ineson)—but they will ultimately lose.

Rumor has it that the movie will have the Four ending up in the Marvel Universe 616, and since they already know what it’s like to face Galactus, they will know exactly how grave a threat a celestial will be when it comes for Earth.

For now, this is all just based on rumors. Personally, I prefer stories where nobody can predict what exactly to expect.

So far, fans are loving the retro vibe of the marketing, and fingers are crossed that Fantastic Four will finally bring in some of that more artistic flare that Marvel has been sorely lacking ever since it started back with Iron Man in 2008.

The Fantastic Four is set to release in theatres on July 25, 2025.

Fantastic Four: Ebon Moss-Bachrach Jokes about How He’s been Preparing for The Thing https://www.geekfeed.com/fantastic-four-moss-preparing-for-the-thing/ Mon, 24 Jun 2024 15:58:58 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=83029 Ebon Moss-Bachrach has been in The Punisher, Andor, and The Bear, but now he’s set to enter the Marvel mainstage as The Thing for Fantastic Four. We know that he’s going to be a CG Ben Grimm unlike the Michael Chiklis version, and Moss-Bachrach shares how he’s preparing to play the part.

During an appearance on The Daily Show, Moss-Bachrach shared, “I’m playing Ben Grimm, who becomes The Thing, who is a man encased in rock. So, yeah, I don’t know, I’ve just been looking at rocks.”

Joking aside, Moss-Bachrach did add, “I’ve been reading a lot of comics. It’s really nice. They gave me this Marvel Unlimited thing, so I can just go on my iPad, and go to any comic book that Marvel’s ever released.”

Though Moss-Bachrach is mostly expected to provide the voice for The Thing, the officially released poster also confirms that he’s going to be the face of the human Ben Grimm. By the looks of it, he’s also going to be providing the motion capture for the character. Let’s just hope he’s more involved with the process unlike Rocket Raccoon who’s played by two different people (Sean Gunn as the mo-cap stand-in, and Bradley Cooper as the voice).

We don’t know when Marvel is going to give us our next look at Fantastic Four, but everyone is expecting there to be a whole lot of reveals after Deapool and Wolverine hit cinemas.

Catch Fantastic Four in theaters when it releases on July 25, 2025.

Chaos Returns to the Kitchen in Trailer for The Bear Season 3 https://www.geekfeed.com/chaos-returns-in-trailer-for-the-bear-season-3/ Mon, 27 May 2024 09:30:40 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=82615 The Bear has steadily grown to be one of the most buzzed-about series today, and everyone is waiting on the third season ready to premiere this June.

Just in, FX has dropped the first trailer for The Bear 3 and it promises all kinds of chaos for Carmy and the rest of the Bear staff. Check this out:

Here’s the official description for the third season of the show:

FX’s critically acclaimed series The Bear is about food, family and the insanity of the grind. It’s a losing battle every day in the restaurant business, and as Carmy pushes himself harder than ever and demands excellence from his crew, they do their best to match his intensity. Their quest for culinary excellence propels them to new levels and stresses the bonds that hold the restaurant together.

With the second season having us watch Carmy and the rest rush to get the restaurant ready, Season 3 will finally have them running the restaurant and seeing if they can keep it afloat.

If you’ve watched The Bear, you’ll know that the show is a masterclass of chaotic scenes, and no reality TV cooking show can ever hold a candle to what’s going down at The Beef. We don’t know exactly what challenges the crew will take on for the third season, but we can bet that’s going to be stressful but damn entertaining to watch.

The Bear Season 3 premieres on FX and Hulu on June 27.

Fantastic Four has Cast a Female Silver Surfer https://www.geekfeed.com/fantastic-four-has-cast-a-female-silver-surfer/ Sun, 07 Apr 2024 08:26:02 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81792 MCU’s Fantastic Four is slowly coming together, and though we’ve had the announcement of the main cast for a while, everyone is still curious about who they’re going to be going up against.

Just in, Deadline has reported that Julia Garner (Ozark, Inventing Anna) is going to be starring as a female version of the Silver Surfer a.k.a. the Herald of Galactus.

The most popular iteration of the Silver Surfer is no doubt Norrin Radd who was played by Doug Jones in Rise of the Silver Surfer. This character though Shalla-Bal, is a variant of the Surfer from the comics. In the original continuity, Shalla-Bal was Radd’s first love, and he had made a deal with Galactus to find planets for him to eat, just so his planet would be spared.

We don’t know if the movie will eventually give us the Norrin Radd surfer, but there has been a rumor going around that this Fantastic Four would come from an alternate timeline. We don’t know how they’ll be fitting in the MCU yet, but with The Marvels already opening up the multiverse, we should expect Reed Richards and his family to also have something to do with experiments that have them jumping around the multiverse.

With the Surfer making an appearance in this movie though, everyone is expecting Galactus to be confirmed soon enough. We don’t know who could possibly play him, but I am up for the fancasting of Anya Taylor-Joy. I’d watch her snack on a planet like she ate that burger in The Menu.

The Fantastic Four is set to release in theatres on July 25, 2025.

Fantastic Four Reboot Taking Place in the 60s? https://www.geekfeed.com/fantastic-four-reboot-taking-place-in-the-60s/ Mon, 19 Feb 2024 16:18:15 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81087 After months of speculation, Marvel Studios has finally revealed the official cast for their Fantastic Four reboot, and that includes Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm).

This reveal was made with a Valetine’s post of artwork with the team in uniform:

We don’t know yet if this is the actual uniform for the movie or some holiday-themed get-up, but the poster does have fans speculating that the movie will be a period piece not unlike Captain America: The First Avenger.

Besides the overall aesthetic, fans are looking at the magazine that Ben Grimm is holding, and it does look like an actual issue that came out in the 60s.

Until Marvel decides to reveal more, all we can really do is guess; but it would make sense for Marvel’s “First Family” to have a story that takes place earlier in the timeline. With the ‘present’ MCU already filled to the brim with all kinds of geniuses, it’s kind of interesting to think that their new Fantastic Four would be people out of time that will have to adjust to the world and new technology.

It would also explain why they’ve been missing since the first Iron Man.

Admittedly, the MCU has been in a bit of a slump since Endgame, but fans are hopeful that after enough time has passed, we could be seeing a new, thought-out direction from the studio moving forward.

Catch The Fantastic Four when it comes out in theaters July 25, 2025.
