Taking to Entertainment Weekly about a possible Defenders comeback, Winderbaum explained, “I can’t say much, but I’ll tell you that it’s so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox… But I can just say that all those variables [budgetary and resource-based restrictions] taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring.”
For context, the rest of the Marvel Netflix Defenders include Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones)—not to mention other supporting characters including Misty Knight (Simon Missick), Elektra (Elodie Yung), and Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick).
Though a lot of fans like to look back at the Marvel Netflix era fondly, there are some that remember how much the quality dipped in the shows—especially around the time of the drop of The Defenders. The series were obviously suffering from a mandate to fill up a season with 13 episodes, which resulted in a lot of filler and very little substance.
For now, fans are waiting to see just how much will be changed with Born Again. I’m honestly up for shaking up some of the origins again because I know that not everyone was a fan of how Luke Cage and Iron Fist turned out as characters.
Hopefully Marvel doesn’t paint itself into a corner this time. Daredevil: Born Again is set to hit Disney+ on March 4.
]]>Check this out:
It’s not clear exactly where the series wants to go this time, but it looks like both Matt Murdoch and Wilson Fisk have moved on from their previous entanglement, with Matt dropping his Daredevil persona, and Fisk becoming the mayor of New York.
Though Daredevil and Kingpin are expected to be the central figures of this series, the show has also teased the return of Matt’s friends Foggy Nelson and Karen Paige; as well as an appearance from Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher.
Besides the familiar faces, Daredevil is said to be going up against a new villain in the form of the Muse. Based on street artist Banksy, the Muse is a deranged ‘artist’ who kills people and uses their blood to make his grotesque artwork—kind of like someone out of the Hannibal series.
The Daredevil: Born Again series has undergone a lot of reworks ever since they started development, but it looks like Marvel is now ready to release the series. While it was originally developed like previous miniseries like She-Hulk and Hawkeye, Born Again was said to have adapted the more traditional TV development approach, and fans should expect it to be a property that feels more like a series.
Watch out for Daredevil: Born Again when it comes to Disney+ on March 4.
]]>The series is expected to take place in its own original timeline, which means original takes on characters; and though the trailer has been sparing, some promo art has revealed the likes of Doctor Octopus, Doctor Strange, Scorpion, and more. Check this out:

While the classic characters in the lineup are pretty obvious based on their design, some fans are still unsure of who the others in the photo are. Some say the blonde guy in shades is supposed to be Daredevil Matt Murdock, but he could very well be someone else. The guy with the fire gauntlets could be Pyro from X-Men, but since this is a Spidey property, I’m guessing he’s a pre-shock gauntlets Shocker.
As for the two women in the front, some are speculating that one of them is influencer Screwball, but I’m guessing the buff blonde girl is a new take on Rhino, and maybe the girl with the Baraka arms is either Tinkerer or this universe’s version of Wraith.
Admittedly, a lot of people have already been bashing the series based on the quality, but I love how they’re embracing the classic comic aesthetic. I’m still not the biggest fan of CG animation, but I think it already looks better than What If.
Then again, that’s just one guy’s opinion.
Catch Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man when it swings to Disney+ on Jan. 29.
]]>Just in, we have a look ahead at all the incoming Marvel series of 2025 including Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, Wonder Man, and more. Check this out:
The timeline of releases is as follows:
Deadpool and Wolverine (Nov. 12)
What If…? Season 3 (Dec. 22)
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (Jan. 29, 2025)
Daredevil: Born Again (March 4, 2025)
Ironheart (June 24, 2025)
Eyes of Wakanda (Aug. 6, 2025)
Marvel Zombies (October 2025)
Wonder Man (December 2025).
On the movie side of things, Marvel fans are expecting three movies to release next year—Captain America: Brave New World (Feb. 14, 2025), Thunderbolts* (May 2, 2025), and Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25, 2025).
Admittedly, the slate looks pretty full, which is different from what fans were expecting, with the studio said to be slowing down moving forward. Then again, with Marvel hanging back on releases this year, this could be a result of them coming back up—then again, all of these projects have been on hold for quite a while since they were initially announced. It’s great that they’re finally releasing.
Personally, I’m in the camp that thinks that Marvel is in a bit of a slump, and I don’t think that leaning in on nostalgia is going to make the studio any better—despite the success of Deadpool and Wolverine. At least there are some newer projects covering more obscure characters to look forward to.
I still am holding out for second seasons of She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel though.
]]>What’s cool is, Woll actually explained the entire concept of the game to Bernthal, and even gave him an impromptu campaign on the spot. It’s pretty surreal to watch:
Based on the interaction, you can tell that Woll was pretty used to introducing players to the game. Instead of having to explain a full backstory for the world, she just puts Bernthal right in the middle of gameplay and gives him short example of an encounter and the kinds of actions that a player could do.
A lot of people have actually been commending Woll online including some experienced D&D players who have had their fair share of having to explain the game to someone who has no idea what to expect.

Speaking of what to expect, it’s not clear how exactly Daredevil: Born Again will be different compared to the Netflix series, but a lot of fans are hoping that it keeps a lot of what worked and fixes what could have been improved.
I always thought that Karen and Foggy needed to be more interesting as characters, so it would be great if the series addressed that. Bernthal has also been really great as the Punisher, but some have been hoping for an outright crazy Frank Castle as compared to the PTSD-driven version that Netflix leaned on.
Daredevil: Born Again is expected to come out around March 2025.
]]>According to ComicBook.com, Bethel will be reprising the role of Bullseye in Daredevil: Born Again for Disney+. We don’t have any official details on how large his role is going to be, but we should expect him to but heads with Matt Murdock again—or at least show up in a prison cell with some playing cards.
In the comics, Bullseye doesn’t have powers, but he’s so proficient when it comes to targeting anything that literally any object can be dangerous in his hands. In the series, he dresses up as a fake Daredevil and goes head-to-head with Matt Murdock.
While a lot of people love Bethel’s Bullseye, one of my favorite scenes with the character is still in the 2003 Daredevil where Bullseye (Colin Farrell) kills an old lady with a peanut.
If anything, he’s kind of like the evil Hawkeye of the MCU, and with that in mind, it would actually be cool if we somehow got that crossover down the line. Hopefully Jeremy Renner would be down—or Hailee Steinfeld.
Production is said to have resumed for Daredevil: Born Again, so hopefully we can see a teaser before the year ends.
No release date has been set for Daredevil: Born Again.
]]>According to insider Daniel Richtman (via @HollywoodHandle), the main villain of Daredevil: Born Again won’t be Kingpin. Instead, it is said to be Muse a villain created back in 2016 who had also clashed with Daredevil.
Muse will reportedly be the main villain of 'DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN'.

— The Hollywood Handle (@HollywoodHandle) January 4, 2024
Dubbed as a ‘serial killer Banksy’ by comic-readers, Muse was a serial killer that is straight out of a Hannibal episode. His entire schtick is that he creates all kinds of art, but to do so, he has to use human blood and organs—all coming from his random victims.
Muse is also said to have superhuman speed and strength. Some think that this is because he is a mutant or inhuman, but I could very well see him not having powers at all if he’s someone that goes up against a street-level hero like Daredevil.
Since the relationship with Daredevil and Kingpin is still very central to the characters, I still expect that to be deeply explored in the series; but it’s possible that the clash with Muse could be the overarching story of the entire first season. Who knows, maybe we can watch DD catch him mid-way and watch some court drama for the next few episodes?
Then again, this is all just a rumor for now. Until Disney give us an official reveal, we’ll just have to wait and see.
For now, Daredevil: Born Again is undergoing a major overhaul, and is expected to premiere January 2025. In the meantime, you can catch DD and Kingpin in Echo which premieres on Disney+ on Jan. 9.
]]>Just in, Echo has dropped a new teaser, and it has Maya taking on Daredevil in an all-new costume. Check this out:
Charlie Cox made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: Now Way Home as Matt Murdock, but he had a more major appearance as Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law; and we saw him donning the original yellow/red colors.
We don’t know exactly what would bring Daredevil clashing with Maya in Echo, but it would definitely have something to do with her relationship to the Kingpin, who has undoubtedly been overbearing with all of the promotion for the series.
With Disney dropping all the episodes at once, I have a feeling that they don’t have that much faith in the show. But then again, I think they immediately want fans onboard with appearances from both fan favorites. With Daredevil: Born Again redoing everything from the ground-up, Echo will be the closest thing fans will have to a Daredevil revival for a while.
I’m just hoping that Maya herself gets the spotlight that she deserves in her own show. I wouldn’t want them to pull a Book of Boba Fett and have two episodes just focusing on Kingpin and DD and not Maya. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
All episodes of Echo start streaming on Disney+ on Jan. 9.
]]>Watch this:
With Maya outright shooting Fisk in the face during the Hawkeye finale, it looks like the show is going to be delving more into the history and current state of their relationship. It does seem that Maya had to be around violence when she was close to Fisk, but after her rejection of him in the Hawkeye show, he could be wanting her back.
A lot of fans seem to be upset that Maya doesn’t really have any powers when it comes to her comic counterpart, but some are reading the show to mean that ‘Echo’ means that she herself has become like an imitation of her uncle, and it will be Maya’s arc to try and break that cycle and come to her own as a person.
With Daredevil: Born Again going back to square one, Echo will have to be the closest thing we have to it for now. It does feel a lot like the original Netflix Daredevil, and though he does seem bigger in this show, Kingpin is no less brutal.
I’m just hoping they manage to shine a light on how much of an expert gangster he is as well besides him solely relying on violence to get his way.
Catch all episodes of Echo when it releases on Disney+ on Jan. 10, 2024.
]]>As per @MyTimeToShineH, a Ghost Rider solo project was said to be in the works at Marvel before the WGA and SAG AFTRA strike. For now, the project has been stalled, but once the studios can reach a decision with the workers, then Ghost Rider is expected to get picked up again.
Though we should take the rumor with a grain of salt, a Ghost Rider project should be a no-brainer for Marvel. After all, the character has already gotten two solo movies with mega-star Nicolas Cage attached to the role. They even tried to bring the Robbie Reyes version of the character into live-action with Agents of SHIELD, but since that show isn’t really part of the canon, we can’t expect Gabriel Luna to reprise the role for Marvel anytime soon.
There were also rumors going around not too long ago of Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead, Death Stranding) being eyed for the role, but we haven’t really gotten any updates. Should Ghost Rider make his Marvel debut soon, I would imagine he would make his debut around one of the ‘darker’ MCU characters like Daredevil or Moon Knight; or maybe have him introduced in a Doctor Strange property since his powers are close to the mystic side of things.
A Ghost Rider project has not been officially announced.
]]>According to The Hollywood Reporter, Garner will be returning as the femme fatale in the upcoming Deadpool 3 alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. We don’t have any details on the size of Elektra’s role in the movie, but it would be great if Garner could have a role as substantial as Patrick Stewart’s in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Though a lot of people did skip out on the Elektra movie, Garner was still pretty memorable in Daredevil. Not only did she share fight scenes with her now ex-husband Ben Affleck, but she also had a training sequence with Evanescence playing in the background, which is a perfect encapsulation of where edgy superheroes were back in the mid-00s.
With Deadpool 2 not being shy about going back and making fun of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it would make sense that his MCU debut would make fun of previous Marvel properties, with Wade having something snarky to say about everything that came out before Iron Man. Though Fox was the only one who was able to come up with most Marvel properties like Fantastic Four and X-Men, maybe the film could even make fun of Sony’s Spider-Man movies; I’m sure fans would love an Andrew Garfield comeback.
Catch Deadpool 3 in theaters when the movie comes out on Nov. 8, 2024.
]]>As per The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Bernthal will be reprising the role of Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again. We don’t have any details as to Bernthal’s role, but we should expect it to be loosely based on what happens to him on the Netflix series.
In Daredevil, Punisher and Daredevil go head-to-head in a battle of morals, where Daredevil tries to stop Frank Castle from going on his murderous vigilante streak. Castle’s arc moves from Punisher going to prison to being freed by Kingpin, and his own solo series has him coping with the trauma of being a war veteran.
Maybe the MCU will try to adapt a lot of Castle’s established Netflix story for the official canon, but I would honestly prefer if we just met the character fully established with no need for a backstory of any kind. This offers a new opportunity to run into Daredevil, and maybe some other MCU heroes like Spider-Man or Shang-Chi.
If it’s not too late, maybe they can have him cameo in Thunderbolts or something.
No specific release date has been set for Daredevil: Born Again, but the show is expected to hit Disney+ sometime next year.
]]>As per @MyTimeToShineH on Twitter, Affleck is currently in talks to play Dario Agger a.k.a. the Minotaur a.k.a. the President of the Roxxon Corporation. Here’s the post:
Ben Affleck had talks with Marvel Studios to play Dario Agger in an upcoming project
— MyTimeToShineHello (@MyTimeToShineH) December 28, 2022
Seeing that Affleck had recently played Bruce Wayne for DC, having him play another billionaire in a comic book franchise could be fitting. Though comic book films tend to glorify billionaires like Tony Stark, I’m kind of hoping that Affleck (should he land the role) draws from some modern-day influences—kind of like Edward Norton’s character in Glass Onion.
With Marvel’s ever growing web of projects, it’s starting to be inevitable that every working actor in the industry would have had worked with the studio at least once. While actors who worked on both Marvel and DC used to be such a huge deal, I think that list of comic book actors is going to keep growing as the comic book genre continues to dominate the box office (and streaming; don’t forget about the Disney+ shows).
After he got burned with Batman by WB, I’m just hoping that Affleck is able to find a good role that makes good use of his talent. We never got to see his Batman arc completed, but if he was an evil Tony Stark in the MCU? I’m sure I would line up to see it.
No official announcement has been made about Ben Affleck joining the MCU.
]]>Deadline reports that Michael Gandolfini, who played a young Tony Soprano in The Many Saints of Newark, has joined the cast of the Daredevil reboot on Disney+. No official details have been revealed about his character, but some think that he could be playing the son of the Kingpin, Richard Fisk.
I guess Gandolfini playing the part of the Kingpin’s son could be a form of meta-casting. After all, Gandolfini’s father is James Gandolfini a.k.a. Tony Soprano a.k.a. one of the greatest TV gangsters of all time. I’m sure that kind of status helps build the mystique of his character—should he be playing the part of Fisk’s son in Daredevil.
For now, we don’t know what kind of direction the MCU wants to go with their Daredevil reboot. Admittedly, though the Netflix series did go to dark places, the series was still a bit cartoonish at times—especially when it came to the ninjas and the PG-13 take on the gangsters.
With the property falling under the Disney+ umbrella, I think a lot of people are already expecting something more PG, but I think that there are directions for the series to go that isn’t necessarily childish, but has mature themes that get past the PG limitations—kind of like the recent Andor series.
We don’t know when Marvel will be ready to give us our first look at Daredevil: Born Again, but I sure am excited for his return. In the meantime, you can catch Matt Murdock in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law now streaming on Disney+.
]]>Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Cox endorsed the return of Jessica Henwick to Marvel fold. When asked if he could give in a good word for Henwick’s Colleen Wing, Cox said:
“Yeah, she’s amazing. She’s amazing. Look, I agree with you, wholeheartedly. I could also say that about a number of people that I worked with not only on Daredevil, but also on the other shows we did there. So I don’t know what they’re thinking, but I will absolutely put in a good word. And you’re 100 percent right about that. [Jessica] is awesome. And I did get a lovely text from her the other day saying that she read the news and was thrilled for me.”
While a lot of people remember Finn Jones as Iron Fist from the Netflix show, the series did also give the power to Collen Wing (her fist glows white rather than yellow).
Though I think Henwick would be a fine addition to the MCU, there are some fans who want to give Finn Jones a chance to redo Danny Rand again, since he was considered to be the least popular Defender from Marvel Netflix.
If you ask me, the character that needs a lot of work is Luke Cage, since his Netflix iteration is more of a black Captain America, rather than the more morally grey, street-smart Luke Cage from the comics.
No release date has been set for Daredevil: Born Again, but you can catch him in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law now streaming on Disney+.
]]>Watch this:
It’s actually great that they have Matt kind of put Jen’s She-Hulk powers into perspective, after all, they are both lawyers who have super-powered alter-egos. I guess the difference is, Jen and She-Hulk are recognized as the same person, with Matt’s Daredevil persona being a huge secret.
While the appearance of Daredevil has been hyped up for the show, the series has actually been standing pretty well on its own. Despite the trolls who have nothing but terrible things to say about the She-Hulk, a lot of fans love Jennifer Walters and watching her be reluctantly thrust into this world of superheroes. Not to mention we’ve been having some fun cameos with Hulk, Wong, and new fan-favorite Madisynn who has taken Twitter by storm.
Going back to Daredevil and cameos though, we see a lot of other characters are going to be making the spotlight in the latter half of the season. Jameela Jamil’s Titania is finally going to be returning to the spotlight, and this time we actually get to watch a proper clash with Jen. Besides her, we also have a look at obscure fan-favorite Frogman; we don’t know what exactly he has to do with the story, but a lot of fans are excited to see more of these C-tier heroes.
Catch new episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Thursdays on Disney+.
]]>According to The Weekly Planet (via The Direct), Daredevil is said to be returning for three episodes of Echo, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin will be back in the series as well. Here’s the quote:
“Yep, Daredevil is in it for three episodes, as in Charlie Cox. Kingpin, Vinnie D’Onofrio is in four. The Kingpin storyline is building up to him running for mayor of New York City. Apparently, he’s going to be wearing an eye patch because he was shot in the head in Hawkeye… Daredevil is also going to be rocking a red and black suit and is looking for Jessica Jones.”
Again, this is just a rumor for now, but it certainly does track with all the other buzz about Disney working on bringing Daredevil back as well as Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. With Echo being a handicapped hero, it would make sense for Daredevil to act like some sort of mentor, and he would have a personal stake with her, seeing that his nemesis, Wilson Fisk, is her uncle.
I’ll admit, Kingpin’s MCU return was kind of underwhelming, but there’s some huge potential for him to really get reinvented with the Echo series.
No specific release date has been announced for Echo, but you can catch her debut in Hawkeye which is now available on Disney+.
]]>According to Variety, Disney+ is officially moving forward with a Daredevil series with writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord (Covert Affairs). While there hasn’t been any official confirmation, we should probably expect Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio to reprise their roles in the series—albeit we could be looking at a completely different timeline.
Daredevil did get critical acclaim from fans, but it still had a lot of goofy elements to it—especially when it came to the Hand and the character of Elektra. With this revival, I’m hoping Disney carefully picks what made the series work, and disregards all of the other elements that didn’t. Hopefully there isn’t a quota of episodes to fill up, so maybe this time we can get more solid, concise seasons with minimal story filler.
Personally, I was kind of hoping for a film. While the MCU has been known for these blockbuster event premieres, I think there’s room in the box office for some smaller, serious films; and with the success of properties like The Batman, I think it’s time for Marvel to try and be a bit more experimental when it comes to their IP.
No release date has been set for the Daredevil revival, but you can catch the series on Netflix and on Disney+.
]]>As per The Direct, this information comes via the resume of costume designer Stacy Caballero. Caballero had listed down some productions where she worked at, and under the entry for Echo, the cast was listed: Alaqua Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Charlie Cox.
Caballero was said to have made her Instagram private and has removed any mention of Echo in her resume, but the buzz is already going around that the Kingpin of Crime and the Man without Fear could be showing up in Echo.
If you think about it, an appearance from both Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock could make a lot of sense. With Fisk clashing with Maya at the end of Hawkeye, it’s very likely they could see each other again in Echo—as they are “family”. As for Daredevil, I would imagine his involvement mainly concerns Kingpin, but seeing that he shares a common trait with Maya as they are both handicapped heroes, maybe there’s a chance for Matt Murdock to be a new kind of mentor.
After his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, I would imagine that Matt would want to get Maya out of trouble, especially since she’s related to the Kingpin. Let’s not forget she was also actively running the gang that was going after Hawkeye, so she’s not an innocent bystander.
Then again, this is all just speculation based on a rumor. Until we get an official update, all we can really do is wait.
No release date has been set for Echo, but you can catch Maya Lopez on Hawkeye now streaming on Disney+.
]]>Watch the new clip:
If you’ve watched the other previews, we know that Khonshu appears several times in the series. The character that Moon Knight is even beating up in the first teaser is Khonshu; so I suspect that it will be some kind of relentless spirit that won’t leave Marc alone.
Just looking at how the scene is put together, you can say that the show definitely has some more aesthetically different choices as compared to other Disney+ shows. With Moon Knight, Marvel really is going to be delving into more experimental territory, seeing that this is the first show that will be focusing on a character that we haven’t met from the movies before.
I’ll admit, the distance the MCU has gone, the costume looks a tad goofy, but I’m sure it will make sense once we actually get to see it in action, jumping around rooftops and beating up criminals. Besides the Moon Knight persona, we also get to meet other personalities living inside of Marc Spector—and they will all contribute in their own unique way in accomplishing whatever Moon Knight is tasked to do by Khonshu.
Fingers crossed we can get a Daredevil cameo or future crossover down the line.
Watch out for Moon Knight when it hits Disney+ on March 30.
