Either way, he pulls off a fantastic performance, and a new featurette for the series talks about how the Penguin’s look informs his character in this continuity.

Check this out:

It takes about three hours of work to make transform Farrell into Oz Cobb. Besides the heavy facial scarring—especially the nasty gash that Oz has near his mouth—the shape of the nose was actually meant to resemble a beak. What’s also cool is that the eyebrows were also changes to resemble that of an actual bird—and also make Oz look angrier even when he’s neutral.

A huge difference in the make-up was that Farrell actually shaved his head bald for The Batman, saving the make-up artists a lot of time with the wig. For the series though, Farrell needed to keep his hair long for projects, so the team had to hid his hair under a bald cap—which still looks fine when you see the final product.

Farrell absolutely disappears with the full look, and everyone is still pretty amazed that it’s actually him playing the part of Oz. The Penguin may only run for one season, but so far, everyone is loving this ride.

It should be some consolation for the fans who didn’t like Joker: Folie a Deux too much.

Set Photos Reveal Nicolas Cage in Spider-Noir Series https://www.geekfeed.com/set-photos-reveal-cage-in-spider-noir-series/ Mon, 07 Oct 2024 19:32:29 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=84625 At some point, I wasn’t convinced the series was actually happening, but Spider-Noir is apparently in production, and first set photos of Nicolas Cage have come out online as Ben Reilly.

The photos come from Just Jared, and it has Cage in an old-timey 1950s outfit holding a newspaper  from the Daily Bugle that says, “Silvermane Survives Skivvies.”

The mention of Silvermane is actually interesting, because a possible synopsis did come out a few months ago about what the story could be, and Silvermane was said to be one of the main villains. Here’s what the leaked synopsis said:

“We follow Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a private investigator, as he stumbles down a rabbit hole of corruption in 1933 New York City, while also establishing his past as a superhero. Reilly investigates the death of Edward Addison, which leads him to discover that the Mayor is up to something nefarious that involves crime boss Silvermane and femme fatale Yuri Watanabe.”

Admittedly, it’s disappointing that Cage doesn’t have his Spider-Noir costume on, but at his age, nobody is expecting him to be as nimble as one would expect Spider-Man to be. Some guess that Cage is going to be the main narrator of the story, and scenes where he’s Spider-Man are going to be flashbacks, played by a younger actor that can jump around and do more intricate fight scenes.

Seeing that Cage himself is a comic book fan, it’s great to see him working in projects like this. We don’t know exactly where it stands on Sony’s Spider-Verse, but I do commend them for trying some more experimental projects focused on obscure characters.

The Penguin is currently paying off for DC, and hopefully Spider-Noir does the same for the Spider-Man IP.

No release date has been set for Spider-Noir.

WATCH: How Deadpool and Wolverine Pulled Off Cassandra Nova’s Powers https://www.geekfeed.com/deadpool-and-wolverine-cassandra-novas-powers/ Sat, 31 Aug 2024 18:55:52 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=84044 Every comic book villain has got to have a schtick, and Deadpool and Wolverine’s Cassandra Nova has a very interesting way of showcasing her powers when she would physically invade someone’s mind.

The effect can get pretty unnerving when you watch it, and Marvel Entertainment has just released a BTS look at how exactly they pulled it off for the movie. Check this out:

Get a behind-the-scenes look at how Cassandra Nova’s fingers go under people’s skin and in their minds, with Deadpool & Wolverine VFX Supervisor Swen Gillberg.

Though the movie did shoot some references of the actors playing out the roles, a lot of the effect was actually brought to life with full CG models. As it turns out, when Cassandra is tormenting Paradox in the film, it’s actually a full CG head that we’re seeing get messed up onscreen.

On the other hand though, sometimes the movie will just replace one part with CG—like the moment where Cassandra pokes into Wolverine’s head; they only ended up replacing Hugh Jackman’s forehead digitally for that scene.

With more and more reveals just coming out for Deadpool and Wolverine, we should expect Marvel to drop some more interesting behind-the-scenes looks before the movie actually gets a home release. Besides the legacy heroes and this VFX shot, there’s so much more the movie could delve into, like the new costumes or the characters they kept from the Fox universe.

I’m just here hoping for a specific timeline breakdown of where everyone is from and how they’re going to connect to the overall MCU.

Deadpool and Wolverine is now showing in theaters.

Check Out the Harrison Ford Stunt Mask Used in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny https://www.geekfeed.com/check-out-ford-stunt-mask-used-in-indiana-jones-5/ Tue, 04 Jul 2023 16:53:27 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77634 Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny just premiered last weekend, and despite the poor critics’ reviews from weeks earlier, the movie has been getting praised by audience members who were just giddy to see Indy’s last ride.

At 80-years-old, fans don’t really expect Harrison Ford to do as much stunts as Indy does in the movie, and thanks to @IndianaJones_ch, we have a look at the insanely real Harris Ford stunt mask that the stuntpeople had to wear in the film. Check these out:

Admittedly, the eyes do look a bit sunken when the stunt guy wears them, but it’s not like they were expecting them to look just like exactly like Ford for their sequences. If you watch the film, they also had to do a bit of CG work to try and make it look like it was Ford riding a horse or jumping across speeding carts.

Though the movie was not met well by the critics at Cannes, Dial of Destiny has received a sparkling audience score, and is considered a great closer to Ford’s run as the character, redeeming Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as his last ride.

The film doesn’t really set up any future for Indiana Jones, but it’s definitely a great addition to the series of movies started by Steven Spielberg.

Experience the return of legendary hero, Indiana Jones, in the fifth installment of this beloved swashbuckling series of films. Finding himself in a new era, approaching retirement, Indy wrestles with fitting into a world that seems to have outgrown him. But as the tentacles of an all-too-familiar evil return in the form of an old rival, Indy must don his hat and pick up his whip once more to make sure an ancient and powerful artifact doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.

Catch Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny now showing in theaters.

Get a Behind-the-Scenes Tour of That ‘90s Show Set https://www.geekfeed.com/get-a-behind-the-scenes-tour-of-that-90s-show-set/ Thu, 26 Jan 2023 14:48:17 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=73069 That ‘90s Show just premiered on Netflix, and a lot of fans are happy to be back in the Forman house with a new batch of crazy kids. Since the set is essentially the same from That ‘70s Show, we have a set tour which showcases all the neat Easter Eggs and differences with the revival.

Check this out:

How much of the That ’90s Show set came from That ’70s Show? A lot! Callie Haverda (Leia), Ashley Aufderheide (Gwen), Reyn Doi (Ozzie), Mace Coronel (Jay), Sam Morelos (Nikki), and Maxwell Acee Donovan (Nate) point out easter eggs as they lead a tour of the show’s famous basement, driveway, kitchen, and living room.

Since the basement is kind of the main set where the characters hang around, we get a neat Easter Egg in that the furniture in the basement actually used to be the chairs that were in the Forman living room back in the ‘70s. The living room also has some pictures from the original show, some even featuring guest stars like Betty White.

The Forman parking garage also has a lot of significant moments in That ‘70s Show, and the revival is doing the same thing with the location. Despite all of these nice callbacks, I’m hoping That ‘90s Show also manages to make its own original changes to the tried-and-true formula.

In 1995 Point Place, Wisconsin, Leia Forman, daughter of Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon) Forman, is visiting her grandparents for the summer. She meets and bonds with a new generation of Point Place teens under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll never dies; it just changes clothes.

Catch That ‘90s Show now streaming on Netflix.

Is Batfleck Back in These Flash Set Photos? https://www.geekfeed.com/is-batfleck-back-in-these-flash-set-photos/ Wed, 28 Jul 2021 09:58:05 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=60762 While photos of Ben Affleck on vacation are currently making their rounds online, one interesting character has been spotted on the set of The Flash currently shooting in Glasgow—Batman.

Take note though, this doesn’t look like Keaton’s Batman; and some are guessing that it’s the one and only Batfleck:

https://twitter.com/FlashFilmNews/status/1419874551266217987

With the new photos of Affleck coming out at the same time, it’s very likely that this isn’t Affleck in the suit. Since this looks to be a stunt job, we shouldn’t really expect Affleck to be suited up for these scenes anyway—then again, we’re still not sure if this character is supposed to be Batfleck. That being said, his build is a lot closer to the Batman in Justice League, and his new Batpod has the same feel as the DCEU Batmobile.

For now, the plot of the Flash movie is still under wraps, but the presence of multiple versions of superheroes has people convinced that it will establish a multiverse storyline. I’m just hoping that Batfleck makes it out of this movie alive. I don’t want the character to be killed early in the film, and have Flash be amazed when he meets another version of Batman—kind of like what happened with Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

It’s taken a while for The Flash to finally start production, and hopefully this time WB has a more solid direction when it comes to the DCEU pushing forward.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on Nov. 4, 2022. The next DCEU film, The Suicide Squad comes out Aug. 6 in theaters and on HBO Max.

Shazam is Battle-Damaged in New Fury of the Gods Photos https://www.geekfeed.com/shazam-is-battle-damaged-in-new-fury-of-the-gods-photos/ Thu, 08 Jul 2021 10:18:59 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=60452 While the future of the DCEU is still a big question to audiences, some films have been trudging along when it comes to production. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to come out in 2023, but we have some new set photos of the World’s Mightiest Mortal getting into some scrapes.

Check out Zachary Levi in costume in this post:

https://twitter.com/ShazamNews/status/1412895220472107014

Since we don’t have a plot for the movie yet, it’s going to be hard to speculate on what scene this could be from. While it’s possible that it could just be from a fight early in the movie, the damage on the suit makes me think that we could be seeing glimpses of some kind of climactic battle.

While some have been waiting for Shazam to clash with Black Adam in the big screen, it looks like DC is opting for a slow burn, giving some background to Adam first before he battles Billy Batson. For Fury of the Gods, we’re going to be seeing Billy go up against the likes of Hespera (Helen Mirren) and Kalypso (Lucy Liu) first. Fingers crossed we get the return of Mister Mind after the teaser from the last film.

Though there is still a cry from fans to #RestoreTheSnyderVerse, it looks like WB is going ahead with this more lighthearted film. If anything, The Flash film is expected to introduce a multiverse to the DCEU, so we could be looking at multiple versions of the same hero exisiting at the same time.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to come out on June 2, 2023.

Love and Thunder Crew Shirts Reveal Natalie Portman’s Thor Costume https://www.geekfeed.com/love-and-thunder-crew-shirts-reveal-natalie-portmans-thor-costume/ Wed, 16 Jun 2021 09:04:40 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=60057 Though she skipped out of Thor: Ragnarok, Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will be coming back for Thor: Love and Thunder, and she’s expected to take on the mantle of the God of Thunder. Marvel hasn’t dropped any official looks of Portman in costume, but thanks to some shirts from the film crew, we now have one image.

Check out Portman’s Thor costume down

As you can see, the costume looks pretty close to the comic counterpart, complete with helmet. The shirt also gives looks at Valkyrie (Thessa Thompson) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and though they seem closer to their previous looks, it’s no doubt that Thor is looking more massive than he ever has in the past movies.

With Waititi promising that this film would be a lot ‘wackier’ than Ragnarok, some fans are hoping that he takes this film a little more seriously, especially with Foster said to be diagnosed with cancer in the story. I mean, Ragnarok was fun and all, but it’s no Jojo Rabbit or Hunt for the Wilderpeople; even What We Do in the Shadows had better humor.

We don’t know when Marvel Studios is going to give us our first official look at Love and Thunder, but some suspect that it could happen by the end of Loki. With Marvel having to sell multiple other things before Thor like Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals, it could be a while before Love and Thunder gets its chance in the spotlight.

Catch Thor: Love and Thunder in theaters when it comes out Feb. 11, 2022.
